I love my Nylon box. So much fun. I love everything about it. Not the usual things you see in Sub boxes so this one stands out to me. The polish is so pretty on. I’m enjoying my box and I’m 52. 😃 Yup, 52

This box was so fun! Aside from the batiste (which I will use), everything in it was new to me! I love the fun colors they included! I am burnt out on nudes, so it’s fun to get the hot pink glitter and the pink glitter nail polish. The nail polish is amazing! The glitter is holographic and is super sparkly and eye catching! The formula is great too! I was pleasantly surprised with the balance of fun with practical too. The machta stick is awesome and I can’t wait to try it! And the bath bag is so nice! If I don’t use it, it will make a great gift! It would be nice to put in a guest bathroom too! And lastly, the hello kitty pin brings back memories of my youth when I loved looking at hello kitty stuff in Claire’s. My 9 y.o. Daughter will love it!

Just received my box and…I love it!

It bought a smile to my face. While this box may not be for everyone I appreciated how different it is from all of the other beauty boxes I have subbed.

The only thing I was “meh” on was the dry shampoo and that’s because I don’t use it and have received a bajillion dry shampoos from beauty sub’s. Outside of that I was really happy with this sub and how others have pointed out it’s not about calendar age. I am 42 with 3 kids (one is an adult) and I loved this box.

I know a lot of people are really into subs for high value. I guess because I also sub to book subs I’m used to not basing how much I like it on the “retail” value. (I always side eye retail value. Companies can say whatever they want for that. Doesn’t mean I have to believe them.) I just ask: did this box make me smile? Check. Did I get at least $20 ($15 with the coupon code) of value, personally, from this sub. Check.

For the complaints about the stickers. Looking at the website when I ordered I expected to get stickers. I am actually stoked that these are repositionable stickers. Awesome!

I love it!

When did you order and when did you get a tracking email? I ordered on 7/14 and still haven’t received any shipment info…

Reply ButtonReply

Loba

I ordered 6/30 and got tracking info on 7/13. Since this was there first box I’m not sure what their average turnaround time would be…

It seems like people have had luck with their customer service. I’d contact them to find out when you will get a shipment.

Irene A

It’s fun and weird, and nothing I’d buy myself! Sure the pink cosmetic glitter is going into the theatrical makeup rather than everyday stash, but even at 30 I can appreciate a good set of stickers.

I’m also excited to try the bath tea stuff, since it says it can be used in the shower and my teeny apartment tub isn’t really usable for baths.

I also got a confirmation for the nylon magazine, signing up for the box signs you up for the magazine too, I guess! There wasn’t a second charge for me.

Ll

I received a order confirmation to the actual Nylon mag today; however I never ordered it.

(I did ordered and cancel the box though)

Did this happen to anybody else?

Reply ButtonReply

Cat

I got my magazine confirmation and a few hours later my tracking forghe box.

Reply ButtonReply

Liz Cadman

Yes! This happened to me, too!

Reply ButtonReply

Ll

Thank you LIz! That makes me feel better.

I replied to confirmation email and asked them if I would be charged, and they fwd’d it to CS, but haven’t heard back yet. Probably will hear back by tomorrow though.

Kavya

I sent them an email to cancel my subscription. And they also cancelled the order for this box and refunded my money. I am glad they did.

If some of you hate that box, you can cancel it too I suppose.

Reply ButtonReply

Jana

Same! I’m glad that they went ahead and canceled it. For the same price, the Allure beauty box is WAY better, so I’ll be going with them in August. I’ll still keep an eye on the Nylon box, and if it starts to look better (maybe advance spoilers this time?) I’d definitely give it a shot again.

Reply ButtonReply

Jennifer

I agree I’m still going to watch it maybe all of us cancelling and explaining why will kick them up several notches I’m not opposed to trying it again after watching several reviews, learned my lesson also Lol! I thought it would be different, fun and edgy but not childlike. I was so confused seeing the full spoilers! Odd for that type magazine don’t you think?

Mary Jane

What a relief it is to get my money back rather than this box.. I would much rather put that money towards BeautyFix or Allure. I learned my lesson to watch for spoilers on new boxes rather than going off my excitement.

Michelle

Kind of sad as I was going to sub to this tomorrow but after seeing this box, thanks MSA, I’m not. I don’t want patches and stickers and Hello Kitty items.

Jennifer

I wanted to post here that I called Nylon Box and cancelled my subscription. The great thing is that I received A+ customer service and my box was cancelled with ease! Those are great features for a subscription box company! The box is just too young for me! Although I do love hot pink!

Reply ButtonReply

Jennifer

Sad, very very young stuff I mean seriously I was excited about the pasties lol and now hello kitty a patch and stickers??? Yikes! Cancelling!

KimberlyB

I’m very happy to see mostly brands I haven’t heard of along with some favorites like Manic Panic and Hello Kitty. I think these products do a good job of reflecting the vibe of Nylon magazine. I’m 54, so clearly it’s not just about calendar age.

Reply ButtonReply

Amanda M

I’m 37 and I love this box! I figured I’d give most of the stuff to my daughter so I told her I got the box for both of us. I’m regretting that now! Haha

Reply ButtonReply

lindsey

ooh! this looks awesome. not sure where all the complaints are coming from. these are amazing brands, esp. floss gloss! definitely different than other subscriptions!

Reply ButtonReply

Annabella

I hold a grudge against Nylon magazine since they ousted Linda Wells (editor in chief and founder of Allure magazine) and turned Allure into another Nylon.

Reply ButtonReply

Laura

Anybody know how to cancel this subscription? Next time I’m waiting for the sneak peek’s before I subscribe!

Reply ButtonReply

Jana

I emailed them to outline my disappointments with this box and to ask if I could cancel the shipment and get a refund. I’m doubting it’s going to happen, but if not I’ll cancel and wait for spoilers for the next month to see if it’s worth it.

I imagine the fact that there were no spoilers at launch meant that they were aware there were not any really great individual items.

I just feel really OLD looking at this sub.

It’s definitely more millennial than Gen X.

Reply ButtonReply

Dianac

No, it is definitely not millennial either. I will pass too as it looks ridiculously juvenile and I’m 26!

Reply ButtonReply

Amy D

I really like this! It’s different. sick of seeing the same things in sub boxes all the time.

Reply ButtonReply

Sharon

Is this for 5 year olds???!

Reply ButtonReply

Lindsey

Oh bummed. This doesnt look great.. Pretty cutesy but i would like at least one nich higher end makeup product. Eh

Reply ButtonReply

Jenn

I love you nylon and I’m here to lift this subscription box to elite level. I’m a professional shopper for all RAD WALKS OF LIFE. JENN.MAIN @ YAHOO.COM

Laura R

Fun and cute, but I feel like I would just be handing it all over to my cousins who are 16 to 23. Great gifts for them though!

Reply ButtonReply

Melissa

Oh man, as someone who just turned 22, I feel too old for all this stuff less the dry shampoo and chapstick, and when I saw Matcha I hoped it was something to make tea lol

Reply ButtonReply

vicki

me too on the matcha, I could almost taste it..i wanted to be excited about the box, but at 58, i’m not really the demographic they lookin for -fun tho

Katy

I think it would be better if the highest valued item was not keyboard stickers. If this is supposed to be a beauty sub then the high dollar stuff should be beauty products. The Hello Kitty pin is cute and a nice inclusion that helps this box stand out from other beauty boxes, however, the beauty items feel kind of meh to me for this price point. Hopefully they have plans to amp this sub up a bit for future boxes.

Reply ButtonReply

Jana

The value of that hello kitty pin at $8 is dubious at best. Similar pins on their site go for $2.5.

Reply ButtonReply

Zali

That’s how I feel. I had to go back and check the description to make sure I remembered it actually being a beauty sub and then count the items to make sure there actually was that many. I already subscribed, but this is feeling pretty haphazard to me.

Reply ButtonReply

Laura

The nail polish is marked down to $6. Looks like their clearing out some old inventory… I’m disappointed in this box and was hoping for at least one item that represents their print advertisements… cancelling. I’ll try one of the boxes from your subscribers favorites instead!

Reply ButtonReply

Bella01

That’s a steel for 6.00. Other sites have it for 16.00$.

Reply ButtonReply

Jana M Bickham

Also, the highest value item in a beauty box is a $19 SHEET OF STICKERS?!

This is the most disappointing first box I’ve ever seen.

Reply ButtonReply

Liz L

At first I was disappointed at the spoilers…. I agree that this box is different, and that in itself is refreshing.

I will definitely use Matcha Stick and the Salt Soak, so that covered the cost for me. And they do carry some brands that I like, so that holds promise for future subs.

I am going to cancel for now, but will keep an eye out on this one.

Reply ButtonReply

Jana

Also, one non beauty thing in a beauty box is fun, but a pin, a patch, and stickers?

C’mon.

Reply ButtonReply

Jana

I’m disappointed in this. I would have been cool with one “nylon pink” product, but this just looks like a box for pre-teens. I am tentatively excited about the matcha stick.

So. Much. Glitter.

Reply ButtonReply

Sara

I never liked Nylon magazine. I think it’s a decent value for $20 and it’s new products!! New products and new brands!
