PLAY! by SEPHORA The Iconic Edition – Available for VIB Rouge!

LOLOLOLOLOL!!!! Disregard my plea for help. I just realized this post was from a MONTH ago! I thought it said, “July 9th” not JUNE! So embarrassing! I’m probably the only one on this post, but if not… Disregard my post above! How can I be a FULL month late? Ugh…. 🙈🙊💕

I’m so confused! How do you get to the right place to order this? Every time I click on the link, it goes to my account & says “You’re already a sephora play box member, limit 1 only”. But, I’m just trying to purchase the Iconic Limited Edition one for $20…. Can you not just buy one, or is it for ViB Rouge Members who don’t have a current Play! Box membership?

HELP! I’m so confused! I don’t know if I’m explaining myself well, because I’m so confused! I just want to buy the box, and I think I fit the qualifications. lol!

I was suckered into the bag and it arrived today and I must admit it was worth it to me. I began to doubt after all the bad being said but overall I’m totally glad I bought it

I love that everyone is being kind and buying for others, but I am rouge and couldn’t order because they are sold out. Total bummer. I think that if it’s supposed to be a perk they should not offer 3 unless they can give all rouge members 3.

I just sent Liz a link to the photo / written spoilers for the Rouge Play box contents if she wants to update. They were just posted to a thread called “ROUGE ONLY PLAY BOX!” on Sephora’s BeautyTalk.

It was pretty funny on the Sephora website the past couple days under the reviews for this dumb little bag. Us Rouge-ers were posting comments about how we feel cheated by Sephora since there are barely any differences between Rouge and VIB, despite the significant difference in money we spend each year. Sephora started deleting everyone’s comments and it got us frustrated. Yes, the review section is not a forum for this, but deleting the comments of the top spending customers at their store was not a good move. Some women started saying that others shouldn’t be so “entitled” and should not expect things for free, but they were missing the point.The point was that Sephora hyped up Rouge, then slowly made it completely useless. They promised random gifts and specials, but we don’t really get any. The time of shopping from retailers just to purchase products is long gone! There’s too many retailers out there that sell the same thing – they need to be competing for our business. Take Dermstore for example, there is usually a 20% off coupon floating around somewhere and they sell a lot of the skincare that I buy from Sephora. If Sephora doesn’t step up by the end of the year, I am taking my business elsewhere. I definitely skipped this stupid little bag!

I noticed subscription boxes rarely offer samples in the makeup/skincare categories if the full size product retails at $50 & up. The only time I’ve seen a sample of Tom Ford, Guerlain, etc is in the form of perfume. Now that I have confirmation that the things I actually want will never be available in a regular subscription, I’m happy I cancelled.

I think it’s justified to pay double for a higher end version of the Play! box but instead of 5 items plus 1 fragrance you get 4 items and 2 fragrances hahahahaha. I’ve got enough fragrance samples to open a shop! Wow. I would not pay $20 for that regardless of the brands.

I’m going to guess the contents of this box and see if I’m right later: Guerlain mascara, La Mer cream, Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat Blur primer, Burberry fluid base or lipstick, Dior fragrance, Tom Ford fragrance.

I feel like this should have stayed exclusive for VIB rouge eyes only so people don’t know what they so called “missed out on” I do not mean any offense to anyone rouge or not but I know after cancelling glossybox and boxycharm I don’t even read their spoilers or reviews so I don’t regret cancelling. I just had way too many boxes coming in the mail and my husband gets his boxers in a bunch about it.
I’ve noticed a lot of rouge members offering to buy them for non rouge and that’s really awesome of them. If I was more tech savvy and had PayPal I would definitely do the same. I bought one for myself and one for my sister.
Anyhow I think everyone on here is wonderful and women need to have each others backs instead of hating on each other. I’m not rich and I’m rouge but I also have my mom and I using the same acct.

I’m rouge but this box doesn’t interest me. I’ll spend my $20 on something else from Sephora.

I have no interest in this box. These brands do not excited me at all. I would much rather see a natural box or a “Scouted by Sephora” box.

Why I’m not getting it – I can’t use the perfume and don’t need a bag (pretty obviously) so each of the four remaining items would be $5 each. Now, considering that they tend to send items like primers (don’t use), highlighters (only raaaarely use), bronzes (don’t use), mascaras (use but receive plenty), black eyeliners (occasionally use but have good black eye liners in all three types) – you are paying $20 for A La Mer cream sample and probably a lipstick that might be in a shade you can’t wear. I would like a La Mer sample – YES – but not THAT much.

I guess YSL will be same primer like in allure box.
And I hope Burberry won’t be that tiny (1ml) sample that everyone could get free with purchase :(.

I guess this means they are going back to the drawstring bag. That gold bag is a drawstring bag. I wondered after the plastic envelope bag. I hate the bags. I prefer novel bags like Ipsy or no bags and just boxes like the others. The dinky drawstring bag every month just gets thrown out. The drawstring eventually comes out and then it is useless.

They look nice and I would like one but people there’s no need to act ugly over some samples.

Catching up on this thread was something else. I’d really like to see a debate on the perks of being a Rouge versus being a Rogue 😂

Rouge is a joke. I have been so disappointed in it, so the fact that I probably will not spend enough this year to renew is perfectly fine! Sephora is losing its appeal. 🙁

It’s the same samples we get every month but just a different god bag that is so cheap. Please don’t fall for it. Their doing this because so many people cancelled and they need extra money and are using this as a way of getting back. Don’t fall for it beauty’s.
