Wow I was just looking at this on Rue lala and I couldn’t believe it, half of these things are from their regular boxes and the half look to be from their LE or Thrills ones. I got the Spongelle and polishes, the Oscar Blandi and the Supergoop from them within the last year! Weren’t there invisbobbles in the Thrills last year? I have the Ritual lotion from my Glossybox special, but other than that I think everything is leftovers, this is really annoying.

I’ve received and tried almost all these products before. Granted, I sub to 5-10 boxes at any given time. The only things I like are the hair ties and the Spongelle but I just bought 12 Spongelles during FFF add ons so I’m good for awhile. This box may be good for someone new to subs but not an experienced subber(I know it’s not a word). And…$40, ridiculous!!!

Oh Allure, you were doing so well! Offering better products, giving us months worth of spoilers… & now this?

For shame! 🙁

Reply ButtonReply

Elena

The products are equivalent to 2 regular Allure Beauty boxes max.

Jen

I’m with you ladies. $120 for samples. Especially old/leftover repeat samples. NO. NEEEEXT!

Reply ButtonReply

Sherry P

Way to expensive!!

Candace

I loved my Spongelles, but I can go buy those for less than this. Sorry, Allure!

So let me get this straight, all subscription boxes charge less to clear out their old stock.

Allure decides to sell their old stock for almost 3 times as much and make us sign up for another 2 more mystery boxes at the inflated price.

Hhhmm …. I feel really insulted at the assumption that were dumb enough to fall for this.

Nyesha

exactly

Tracy

My thoughts, exactly. Lol

Priced way too high for the items included. Also.. their all repeats, whether from Allure, Birchbox or Glossy. I have every item except for the Mally liquid lipstick, which is too pink for my taste. Boy.. we are all so spoiled.. and if your not yet.. you will be..lol.

Oh.. I forgot to mention that when I got the email from Allure about this box, I actually thought the $40 included the other 2 boxes too. So, $40 for the 3 boxes, had me tempted, but then I read this post on MSA.

Melissa, I at first thought the same thing and was almost ready to sign up. But $40 for one box with maybe some deluxe samples, I don’t think so. Not being critical, but the value is not there.

Frankie

Totally disagree with everyone. Totally worth it- most of the products are full size. I dont get other beauty boxes because the products are so tiny and legit the same things you can walk into Sephora to get for free. I cannot wait to get mine!

JuJu

Where do you see that most of the products are full size, btw? It seems to me that aside from the Spongelle (and how would they make a sample size Spongelle, anyway 😉) and the Rituals hand cream, everything is a sample. Several of the sizes even sound like foil packets.

Reply ButtonReply

Nyesha

I remember the londontown cuticle oil and nail polish and those 2 are full size. But that means all of these products are left over from former boxes and I only recognized the oil/polish

JuJu

I think it’s because we already got a lot of these items before, and the ones we haven’t don’t excite us in any case.

To you it’s a good value precisely because you don’t subscribe to a lot of boxes. 😃

Christine

I don’t even understand this. Doesn’t Allure have their own beauty box? What is with these subscription box collabs.

Reply ButtonReply

Teresa

It’s a way to dump extra product that they have already put in their box.

Why didn’t Allure just do a mystery box at discount price?

Reply ButtonReply

Tjhanna

Nope. Too pricey. I already bought the May beauty thrills and this is near the same cost for sample sized items. I loved when Allure focused on their beauty thrills box (formely just ‘Allure Beauty box’ pre monthly sub). I feel like allure has so many box attachments now. They’re an awesome huge company, but I don’t feel like this is a good deal for their standards. Just my opinion though.

Reply ButtonReply

Bonnie

Isn’t this all stuff that’s either in the monthly beauty box and/or the beauty thrills box? Since I get both of those, I’m thinking yes, yes it is.

Reply ButtonReply

Tj

No thanks lol im really happy they offered up the contents. Now maybe the next two will be worth $40, but definitely not this one.

Reply ButtonReply

Marion

I have the same feelings as a lot of the other commenters. $40 seems a bit steep for this, but it might be worth it, EXCEPT we’ve seen all these samples before (some of them multiple times).

Reply ButtonReply

J

Maybe if it was 20 a box, but for 40 a box it’s an easy no.

Reply ButtonReply

Shawna

If this were $39.99 for all three boxes, I’d do it in a heartbeat. But it looks like you get charged $39.99 for each of the three boxes, unless you cancel after the first one.

In that case, no thanks!

Reply ButtonReply

Leslie Belt

I read it as ALL of them for that price….I signed up, and I’m gonna be VERY 😡 if this is gonna be 39.99 each time, and it’s stuff I’ve had in my allure boxes? Not cool….I thought that’s how I read that? Don’t suppose you can get a refund, via being stupid and not understanding?

Reply ButtonReply

Bonnie

It clearly says, in bold, that you will be charged $39.99 for each of the other two boxes. I’m sure they won’t refund, although since it seems Rue La La is handling the customer service and not Allure (the worst at customer service), it’s worth a try. You CAN cancel for each of the other two boxes, but it looks like you have to do that for each, not once as a whole. Since you have until September 1st to cancel the September box and November 1st to cancel the November box, maybe if you try to get a refund before July 1st, they might let you. I haven’t bought anything from Rue La La so I don’t know how customer-friendly they are, but most of us know Allure is not. Good Luck!!

Julie

We are all so very spoiled. I miss when Allure used to be a magazine and had the summer giveaway of like 30,000 products every August. $40 is kind of laughable when you can get 4 IPSY subscriptions and end up with better options or an ipsy, a boxy charm, AND Glossybox with their $10 deal.

Reply ButtonReply

Barbie

I miss the giveaways too!!!!! I found out about it the last year they did it but it was really fun! :p

Hard to spend $40 on this, when I got about $130 worth of products for $15 this month with their regular box + the Marc Jacobs freebie. Hoping this goes on ‘sale’. Even if they took off $10-15 per box, I could justify buying because of FOMO on the other two boxes.

Renee

Easy Pass!

Michelle

nope

Reply ButtonReply

Barbie

I was excited to see this post, but no so much when I saw the price.

Even with the repeats pictured above, they may’ve gotten me with a lower price point.

Reply ButtonReply

Tara

I agree. $40 is really high considering beauty fix is $25 and is valued at $100-200. Plus I’ve received almost all of these items before.

Reply ButtonReply

Cornflake

I’m not tempted by any of these items, anyway, but that price point is way too high for what you’re getting.

Reply ButtonReply

Amy

$40 is pretty high when I have received almost every single item listed from Allure and other subs. Not mention only one full size item. I’m glad they put out the spoiler, though, I would have been upset to have received this after paying that much.

Reply ButtonReply

Amy

Oops, miscounted the number of full size items. Still not worth $40 🙂

Reply ButtonReply

MissBailey

Through past boxes, I’ve received at least 8 of the 13 samples. Will not pay $40 to get them again. This doesn’t not motivate me to purchase the this box or the other two.

Reply ButtonReply

Teresa

I think this must be more for new people who don’t already get sub boxes. This one is mostly repeats. I would always be happy with the spongella but can get those as an add-on for with FFF.

I think the sub-community expects more for $40.
