Got my first bag and was a little disappointed to not get the highlighter in Pink Flake as it was the entire reason I got the sub. The color received is ok but I had never tried a pink highlighter so I jumped at the opportunity to get one. The size of the highlighter is also so tiny, about the size of the Urban Decay samples but nicer packaging with a unicorn on it.

I think there may only be one color. This is what I’m seeing… this reveal says “Pink Flake,” the bottom of the box mine came in says “PINK GALAXY,” the compact itself does not have a color name on it, the trifle cosmetics website does not list different color variations, the so susan website does not list different color variations, the picture of the compact looks pink but mine looks yellow in person, and when I swatched it on my hand it appears pink.

I had a fantastic interaction with the costumer service for this bag today, and since we always hear about the negative with companies, I thought id share the positive experience.
I wanted to sub to this box in April, and when I tried my debit card wasn’t accepted. I was pretty mad because I knew there was money in the bank, and it was the last day of April when I tried to order. Well I went to the bank and there is something with my bank that they would not and will not allow this purchase because of how and/or where the charge is from. I’m still pretty confused as to why honestly, but it was a bank policy and something that couldn’t be changed or fixed. So anyhow, I missed my chance to get that bag and I was so upset! I actually changed banks because of the dumb policy. Well I subbed last week after I got my new card and to be honest I really wasn’t in love with May bag, but wanted to order anyway because overall it looks to be a fantastic sub. Well I get an email from SoSusan yesterday apologizing because they ran out of the May bag, so they wanted to give me the option to either start my sub in June or get Mays items in a different bag design. I emailed back and choose to get Mays items in a different bag and also mentioned how excited I was and that I even switched banks just to be able to sub to them even though I missed out on Aprils AWESOME bag. I immediately got an email back telling me that they were sending me an April bag for free and apologizing for my bank!!! I was blown away and told them that was not necessary because it was nothing on their end and again within minutes I received a return email from them insisting to send Aprils bag anyway. WOW! Oh, and the icing on the cake? I got my tracking number a few hours later for both bags. BLOWN AWAY!
They truly went above and beyond and I am ecstatic to being a subscriber for a long time to come. This is a company I can stand behind and I truly wish that other companies (ALURE) would take note.

So Susan has great products and they are cruelty free! I actually discovered So Susan in another sub bag (Lip Monthly?) and loved what I got so much I repurchased. When I found out they have their own bag, I jumped on it. Your bank probably didn’t do international subs. So glad to hear that their customer service is as great as their products. Happy to support this indie cosmetics company!

That Shadow Barricade! Yet another product from So Susan that knocks it outta the park! I think this works so much better than the other primers and concealers I have been using to keep shadow in place and not get my crease all greasy. Pretty sure I’ll repurchase that when it’s out.

Funny (I guess) side story, when i discovered beauty subs end of March, i bought 9 different subs within a few days..I got a text from my bank (which i ignored at the time) reporting all this new suspicious activity!! The bank put a hold on my card. I didn’t realize it until i attempted to deposit a check in an ATM and was not able to….omg…..All of these purchases put up a red flag….So, after a phone call to the bank I was back in (subscription purchase business) again… 🙂 Sounds like your bank has an even stricter policy!

I just tried to use this coupon code and it says “invalid.” This happened the last time I tried to use a coupon code for cratejoy. The coupon is a huge motivator for me to get the 6-month sub. If it doesn’t work, I’ll just get the one month then probably cancel. I wish it worked 🙁

I tried to use the liplove1 code the other night, but I didn’t see where I could enter it via the crate joy site. (I clicked directly on the code and it took me to my crate joy account). I looked around for where to submit the code, but I thought maybe it was on the page where you submit? I submitted my order and then contacted the company about still getting a free bag. Customer service was quick and they told me that it wasn’t possible to manually add the code after an order’s been placed. Such a bummer.

So Susan’s customer service investigated and there was an error with crate joy’s site. I will now be able to get my free bag with my six month subscription. So excited.

I would, but last time I reached out to this company it took them 2 weeks to get back to me, so I asked Liz because she can usually get a much faster response.

One of the things I love about this bag is the predictability, as the sub typically only includes the handful brands owned by So Susan, LTD. I feel with other subscriptions that I have that I am often disappointed/surprised by variations in monthly value or find some repeat brands not to my liking, so it can ruin a month for me. However, in this case, it is a bit refreshing to see them include an brand (or two?) that isn’t owned by them. Excited to try the Han cosmetics, as online reviews appear to be consistently positive.

We got this eyeshadow in the Vegan Cuts Seasonal Makeup box. I don’t know if it’s the same shade – I hope not. The one we got was called “Romance” but this one just has a description, not a shade name. “Romance” was described as rosy brown. Anyway, it was nice. Pretty, non-irritating. Not a standout in the sea of products most of us get from our multiple subs, but definitely wearable and comfortable.

I’m also looking forward to trying the silicone sponge, having not tried one yet. I can hardly wait to try the highlighter! Since there are soooo many highlighters out there (which I’m not complaining about), I’ve gotten kind of picky about them, but iridescence is always a big YASSS! in my book.

Usually So Susan attributes the quotes on their bags properly. Disappointing to see them paraphrasing & not attributing Laurel Thatcher Ulrich (especially considering the meaning of the quote!!!!).

It might not be a direct quote, paraphrased or not. Unlikely she was the first woman to even say that either, I can remember seeing something very similar written in Latin, in Roman graffiti, as a joke, while traveling. If someone wrote that a few thousand years ago, I doubt anyone really has a right to claim it anyhow.
Either way, it’s a lovely inspiring sentiment. 😊

Funny how people on the internet love to issue judgements, even when they are flat-out wrong. The quote by Ulrich (and her book by the same name) has the word “seldom” where the bag uses “rarely.”

AND they skimped on the hyphen, so they didn’t attribute and they didn’t even quote properly. Sloppy, sloppy. Leaves an unpleasant feeling – just like their matte lipsticks…

Love the bag! I’ve been eyeing the Atlantis Cookie for a while, but they have sent out so many highlighters lately, I hope (for now) that this will be the last. The only thing missing in this “Lip Love” bag is something for lips!
