since new “spoiler”/guaranteed products were listed is it possible to change your request after you’ve already emailed ipsy? Now I see the trust fund beauty nail polishes are in the list of guaranteed products but I had been told to pick from the first list so I already requested the vasanti lip gloss and/or the mud mask. Also, has anyone requested multiple products and actually got them?

I tried to request the Trust Fund Beauty Nail Polish in Game Chanher but was told it could not guaranteed. I was asked for top choices from the first list of spoilers and was told at least one of those was guaranteed to be in the bag so I went with the mud mask and/or vasanti lip gloss

I’ve gotten nail polish in both of my ipsy bags so far and I’m hoping the trend keeps up, because I really want one of those. They both look gorgeous.

How many sets of spoilers do they usually come out with??
I’m not really thrilled at any of these.. Maybe the black eyeliner because I know I will use it.. I might just wait till the next round of spoilers.?

I wasn’t very impressed with any of these items either… isn’t there an opt out of 3 items option?

I asked for the 24k liner or probiotic cream and was told they can’t guarantee these..
And gave me the 1st spoiler list to pick from.
Oh well.

Are the trust fund polishes fairly good quality? Anyone try them before?

Trust fund is the best! By far my favorite. I already have what’s a budget so hopefully I won’t get that. It’s a beautiful color though.

Is it more of a mint or a teal?

Trust Fund Beauty is by far my favorite nail polish brand! The bottles are generous sizes and leave my nails looking super smooth, almost like a gel manicure. You can get by with just one coat, or do 2 coats for flawless coverage. Gah, and the names! Can you tell I love this brand? So sad that I unsubscribe from Ipsy last month and will be missing out on these, but I’ll be scouring the swap boards if anyone doesn’t want theirs!

I think they actually beat Essie and Julep. The colors are so unique and the formula lasts a long time.

That’s my fav nail polish brand!! I’ve been waiting so long for them to be featured in an ipsy bag again but I already have many nail polishes in practically the exact same peachy pink and light blue shades, gah! Why are those nail colors so dang popular in subs rn?
Reply
Carrie
Because they are such traditional spring colors, so polish makers end up with large overstocks, probably.

Oh no I wish I would have asked about the size before I asked for that mud mask, I bet it will be a tiny sample at that. Now I really want the polish. Darn!

Opinions, ladies? Which do you like better, Ipsy or Sephora Play?

Ipsy… any day!!! I have both. I love ipsy because of their CS to be honest. They are super nice (unlike Sephora that doesn’t give you an option for anything really). However Sephora does have all the high end brands. I honestly get it for just the points 🙂

I can tell you with 100 percent guarantee… ipsy blows Sephora away in value & sizes & to me there is no comparison…. ipsy for the win!

I first was a snob and signed up for Sephora Play for the brand names and only later signed up for Ipsy.
But Ipsy is far more fun (the bag is the sixth item really) and really customizes to your profile, you get to select an item every month, you get full size items sometimes and they also send makeup brushes. They also have amazing customer service because the subscription model is their key business. There is also a better social media community aspect to Ipsy. You also get to try brands you otherwise would not have been able to try which I’ve come to appreciate. Ipsy has been around for many years and has worked out all the kinks.
With Sephora play, you are really getting just small samples only and their boxes are more formulaic (a few skincare, a few makeup, and a fragrance sample) and they don’t customize to the subscriber. You do get a 50 point play pass in every box but you can only use in store. All the items you get in Sephora play are going to be from brands they sell at Sephora which is nice (and every other box, they send a Sephora brand item). The subscription box model is not their key business though and more like an offshoot or an afterthought and they are just not as invested in it. Sephora play has only been around for one year and it shows.
I keep thinking of cancelling my Sephora play every month so if you are going to go with only one, I would recommend Ipsy.

They are both good, but not at all the same. Ipsy is by far more fun. There are tons of variations, and all of them are never shown here, so you get cool surprises. Their CS is also great, and they come in cute bags that you can actually use for other stuff. Play by Sephora is good because you can try things that Sephora actually sells and see how you like them, but you will never get more than one or two makeup items, and your items will be small samples. Still like it though. And Sephora really doesn’t have as much variety as Ipsy. Also, Ipsy has monthly reviews that earn you points to redeem for rewards, and more importantly, to help them better select your items.

I have had Ipsy for years. Then decided to stop at the end of last year, due to not liking anything they sent me. Two months ago I signed up for both Ipsy and Sephora. By far Ipsy is better. I love that the customer service is awesome. I also like that you can request an item each month. Plus they have some plus sized items.

I signed up for both (along with Birchbox) around the same time. I’m not a very young lady… although not QUITE 40 yet…and always thought of ipsy more as a “younger crowd” type of bag so I was looking foward to Sephora more. Surprisingly, I’m actually enjoying ipsy much more, although I still sub to Sephora. Birchbox was dropped last month. Sephora has a few things that I’ve loved trying out, but sample sizes seem smaller and they definitely have more skincare. So far for me ipsy has provided great value and a good mix of make-up, skincare and beauty tools. I also love the option of being able to email a product choice a month (they’ve always granted it to me so far eventhough I’m not personally invited) and they really do seem to make picks for your bag based on your profile and monthly surveys/ratings (so make sure to fill those out!) Sephora seems more random and “you get what you get”….it seemed like Birchbox was sending me things the OPPOSITE of my profile. LOL.

Same here, 49 yrs young and Ipsy my favorite. And it does what a sub should do, helps me find products I will go out and pay full price for. I found Milk and Jelly pong pong and others this way. I like getting mostly makeup with little skincare though.

I would say Ipsy. Its been consistenly good as of lately.

Ipsy usually has better value and larger samples, but more unknown brands. Their customer service is also so great. I couldn’t get my bronzer open this month, and they’re sending me a new product!
I also personally like the bags Ipsy comes in- I use them all the time!!!
