FYI – Darby Smart Subscriptions Are Ending

FYI – both Darby Smart and Darby Girl subscription boxes are ending. The last boxes shipped will be for April.

Change is a positive thing, so that’s what we’re doing! We started Darby Smart to help everyone feel and be creative. Inspiring creativity remains our core focus and we do that each day through videos on our app; however, we’ll be discontinuing our Darby Girl and TO DIY FOR mystery box subscriptions after April. We’re doing this because it allows our team to focus on what we do best: building a community for you to share videos and meet others who have the same passions you do.

What Does This Mean for You? We’ll be canceling all mystery box subscriptions, making April’s box your final shipment. If you’ve pre-purchased a multi-month package, we’ll automatically refund you the remaining balance to be reflected within 10-15 business/working days.

Can’t StopWon’t Stop! We’re not going anywhere! We know you love being creative and we’ll remain focused on content that inspires you to discover new, inspirational ideas and products. The content, all in the form of snappy how-to videos created by the Darby community, includes you (we hope!). You can use the Free Darby App to create and share your own videos showcasing your ideas, as well as connect, follow and chat with an amazing community of people. (Psst.. We have an app for Android coming your way very soon!)

  1. I am so sad to see them go! There aren’t very many arts & crafts subs that are reasonably priced. Ohhhh well. 🙁

  2. I don’t understand why they couldn’t give more notice. I prepaid this as a gift and now I’m left to scramble to replace this. Ridiculous that they would not let subscribers know BEFORE the last box shipped.

  3. I am super bummed about this!! I just subscribed in January. And now they are gone. Along with 4 other subs I’ve subscribed to in the past year. Sigh. Hopefully this will be a sub I have no problem getting a refund from. Super bummed!!! I know I said that already. I just really enjoyed this sub.

  4. actually really bummed, loved this sub! they had some meh months, but still really enjoyed it.

  5. So bummed, i loved this box. Wanted to buy for my mom for mother’s day. 🙁

  6. Would have been nice had they actually emailed their subscribers – or prevented people from resubscribing. Resubscribed at the end of April and I find this out here instead of from the company? That’s just bad business. No wonder they’re going under.

  7. So bummed!
    My nieces loved this!!

  8. Is it just me, or do boxes seem to be dropping like flies this spring?

    • I was thinking the same thing.

      Over-saturated market?

      • Complete oversaturation. Plus, these are businesses where your $$ is completely tied up in inventory boughr months which leaves you little room for error.

    • Agree!! Tons are going under, makes me wonder about the future of sub boxes.

    • I know! I am pretty confident PopSugar and Sephora Play! will be sticking around, but I am a little more worried about the “small” boxes I subscribe to. Pearlesque, OuiPlease, maybe Ispy. I would miss Pearlesque deeply, there is nothing quite like it (but Clean Beauty Art of Organics is close.)

      • Ipsy isn’t exactly small, either, lol.

    • It happens a lot in sub box world. Four or five years ago, Quarterly was a big deal!
