  1. CMarie – Good for you writing their customer service! The coffee scrub is very nice. Let us know if you were pleased with the outcome. Meanwhile – maybe you can find an item to enjoy while you are waiting.

    • I guess I’m stuck with what I have. Apparently there was a sourcing issue with the masks on the day this article was posted, and no one else will receive the mask. I feel deceived, because I had to contact them to ask why- there was ample opportunity to give customers notice. I’ve gotten 5 emails in 7 days, including today, from them with no mention of any sourcing issue.

      They could have reached out to this blog easily. When you order something, and they send something else without explanation, it’s a bait and switch, “Fails to meet anticipated demand for the bait without disclosing the bait’s limited availability in the ad.” I definitely would not have ordered in the first place if the mask was not included in the box.

      What’s crazy is that they sent an email with a photo this very morning stating the mask was in EVERY box, and it is obviously not. They haven’t fixed the problem, and that leaves them open to legal issues. The substitute second lipstick is worth a lot less than the mask so that’s another problem. There were so many ways to make this right, an explanation on the brochure, a note in the box, an email, a higher RV sub product, a bonus product, now or in next month’s box, etc. It looks like that’s not important, or it didn’t occur to them. So this will happen again.

      • Hi CMarie – I just wanted to clear the air here as it seems there has been a misunderstanding. This was not a bait and switch, we didn’t do this intentionally and it was certainly disappointing for us. We don’t share box contents ourselves until the end of the month, so we weren’t actually using that photo as an ad to sell April’s boxes. The photo we supplied was after the cutoff date already.

        As stated in your reply, we were shorted the product we paid for and the vendor was not cooperating on fulfilling what was owed to us. With such short notice, we had to either substitute that product, or hold onto all shipments that were affected for close to a month. Since there were minimal boxes that were affected, we thought the best solution was to substitute that product so you would still receive your boxes when you were supposed to. And, decided that we would sub that product for later, new subscribers in April, so previous subscribers wouldn’t receive a duplicate product. We thought this would be the fairest way to handle it. The RV of the lipstick is still close to the scrub and those boxes still received 5 products, the rest of the items were the same as all other boxes.

        Lastly, it was very important to us that we still supplied our customers with what they paid for and to deliver in the time frame expected. There was a lot more involved behind the scenes and I can assure you, I tried my very best to get the product I needed. Again, I am sorry it was a disappointment for you.

  2. I ordered a 3 month sub on April 20th, and it arrived today. I was quite disappointed after receiving an email showing what I would receive that the coffee scrub is MISSING.

    In fact, it’s not even listed. Instead I received a second lipstick that I will not use. The scrub is the main reason I decided to give this sub a try. It seems strange that they sent an email this morning detailing what they are sending, including the scrub, but then send something else with no explanation. I emailed their CS and await a reply.

  3. I just received my first box and I am thrilled! I received five full side items and the primer alone sells for $50. The entire box is worth $117. If I had received the bonus item it would have been more. I am very satisfied with this and I can’t wait for next month’s box.

  4. Received my box yesterday and was so happy to have received the celebratory Bella Pierre Lip Cream. Thank you Rachel!! Happy 1st Birthday Benevolent!! The Clarria Primer is amazing, so silky. I love that it is a full-sized, this will last for months. I have the BP Lip Cream on today – 3 hours and counting. No marks on my iced tea straw and still perfect on the lips.

    • For how excited I was for the Bellapierre I still haven’t even tried it. LOL. But I did put on the OFRA last night because I was unsure of how the color would look on me. It was surprisingly very nice (I don’t usually like browns so “mocha” scared me but it is balanced out nicely with some pink)!!! Plus the formula in that seems to be great also….had to actually remove it hours later when it was time for bed, even after snacks and a shower! I received an OFRA liquid lipstick months ago in a Boxycharm but it was a deep purple that I knew I wasn’t going to like so I didn’t even try it. Again, I’m sooooo happy with this sub and the thought and concern that goes with the color preferences. I can actually use everything I get!!! What a novel concept in the sub box world! LOL.

  6. Can you buy a longer sub or is it only month to month?

    • They offer longer subs at slightly discounted prices. I know for sure there’s 6 months and I think might be 3 month option too. Seems like MSA posts generally link to the Cratejoy summary page (at least for me) but check out this page below. After you fill out preferences, they give sub term options and prices. 20% off the 6 month cost is a pretty good savings! I totally jumped on that deal.

  7. I’m really enjoying this sub (glad I extended it with sale price) and am especially excited about this box. It’s been awhile since I was this happy and pleasantly surprised with any of my subs as I was unpacking this one. Good products and I REALLY appreciate that she takes our personal preferences in mind with regard to colors. I’ve been wanting to try that Kiss Proof lippie for awhile and it’s in the shade I’d buy for myself so you really can’t ask for more!!! Such a great bonus. By the way, I think there is a typo on the info card with one of the shades of that lippie…should be Muddy (not Mussy) Rose. 🙂

    • For subs, the cost of shipping should be included in the sub cost….I’m pretty sure.
