ARROW ENHANCE Waterproof Dual-Ended Eyeliner

Define and enhance eyes with this 2-in-1 waterproof eyeliner and brightener from Birchbox brand ARROW. The dual-sided pencil lets you line with the highly pigmented black tip, while the pearlescent pink tip gives eyes an instant pick-me-up, brightening and accentuating your natural eye color. The result is a polished, wide-awake look created with just one tool, perfect for gym bags and purses that only have so much space and ideal for when you’re in a time crunch running from place to place. As with every product in the ARROW collection, it’s also vegan, paraben-free, cruelty-free, and gluten-free.

Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cream

Used by a team of explorers for protection during the first ascent of Greenland’s ice-covered peaks, this creamy face moisturizer can handle whatever you throw at it. It’s packed with high performance ingredients including Glacial Glycoproteins to shield skin from environmental damage. Desert plant extracts soothe and nourish while squalane, a signature Kiehl’s ingredient, works to quickly restore skin’s natural moisture balance.

Benefit They're Real Lengthening Mascara

Consider this mascara the no-fuss alternative to falsies. It deals lashes a one-two punch, adding both length and volume to keep them looking anything but lackluster. We love how the formula doesn’t run or smudge, even after a whole day of wear, and gives our lashes a natural-looking curl without weighing them down. Each of these high-intensity colors makes eyes pop, making them perfect for a dramatic night-out look. You’ll have to convince your friends that you’re not sporting faux lashes. This mascara comes in classic black.

And here is the March 2017 featured box:

Reese Witherspoon filled this box with her favorite powerful, high-performing products—perfect for powerful women.

How long does it take until you are able to start making sample choices?

I just cancelled mine after the whole 9 months.. while I’m happy I experienced BB, nothing really wowed me or blew me away. Maybe because it was only for 9 months, but I haven’t had any repeats so that was good. but the sizes……, not all but in general the samples are tiny (hate the foil packets!!) and the products perform “just OK” for being on the higher end side.. I’ve been an ipsy girl since the beginning and I am still happy with it.. as Liz always says, the value can’t be beat. I started sephora play box in the last fall and sephora satisfies my “higher end” curiosity.

The curated box is now for individual sale and the Marcelle 3-in-1 Micellar Solution gift with purchase works on any purchase (even though it says $25 minimum). As an ACE and a subscriber, I was able to get the curated box and Marcelle gift for $10 total!

Jodi

Going for the curated box. Excited to try that arrow lip balm.

Sara

Curated box for me. I will toss the Pore fessional stuff into my “to the nieces” bag, and use everything else.

Missy

Boring!

Hi Liz!

Thank you for the post! Do we know if the arrow product is only going to be the highlighter portion for the sample choice or will we get the black eyeliner too. I’m thinking just the highlighting portion. Which is odd bc it’s only super convenient if it’s a good black too! If no one knows I’ll try contacting CS.

Reply ButtonReply

Liz Cadman

It should be just the highlighter as shown in the picture. (They don’t sell it as just a highlighter, though, so that’s why I linked to the duo.) Sorry for the confusion – I should have made that clear in the post!

Reply ButtonReply

Kali Marie

Thank you Liz!! Nah, that’s not your responsibility 🙂 but I thought you might know the answer! Birchbox also links to the duo – they could/should have clarified that imo. Thank you again!

Got e-mail notification that about sample choices that will be available on 28th. Log into my account and Kiehl choice already not available. So disappointed.

I wouldn’t worry about too much. I just got done looking at the ingredients and truth in aging website said ….

There are so many preservatives in this cream that the one thing you can guarantee is that it will outlast us all: two parabens, irritants that are controversially associated with cancer; chlorphenesin, a neurotoxin that is restricted in Japan; disodium EDTA, which enhances the penetration of other ingredients; triethanolamine, animal studies show can cause sense organ effects at very low doses, especially when used around the mouth, eyes and lips, and one or more in vitro tests on mammalian cells show positive mutation results; and sodium hydroxide, which has been shown in solutions as weak as .12% to destruct healthy skin cells within one hour.

I was going to pick it until I read this… now.. I’ll pass!

Reply ButtonReply

Missy

Omg! That is seriously scary!! Forget that poison!

Krista

You can’t choose them before sample choice is open to my knowledge, so this really doesn’t indicate anything 🙂

Reply ButtonReply

Svetlana7e

I know that I cannot choose, but they send me e-mail for “sample preview” and they only sample on preview is pencil and mascara. Hopefully on 28th they add the cream.

Roberta

The best thing about BB this month is the actual box itself, forget the samples. I’m an Ace have been with BB from the get-go and with the exception of maybe the Kiehl’s all these items we have gotten many times before or something similar. BB at times seems to be trying to up their game, but is really falling flat lately especially when they want you to pay extra to have some choice or flexibility on your subscription. I so hate to cancel the sub, but they are making the decision easier with every month.

Reply ButtonReply

Redwoods301

I was going to say, it must have been super-convenient for Birchbox that Reese Witherspoon’ favorites are all repeats🙄

Reply ButtonReply

Missy

I completely agree!! It’s SO rare these days they send something that they haven’t sent me before!

Reply ButtonReply

Teri

I just watched the sample choice video. As Lorelei was describing the Davines Ol All in One Milk in the curated box, she said you also get packets of the shampoo and conditioner so you can try the whole line.

Reply ButtonReply

Julie E

My absolute favorite! It works wonders and smells amazing!

Reply ButtonReply

Teri

I agree! And the All in One Milk in this box is worth almost $12 by itself, so I couldn’t resist getting the curated box.

Krista

OK, maybe it’s just me, but this is the best month in pretty much forever.

I like all the sample choices (I don’t need a facial moisturizer right now BUT Kiehls= yay, I love They’re Real even though yes it’s a sample choice every 6 months or so, and I LOVE a non-black and useful eyeliner) and the curated box is really nice! I might get my normal box with a sample choice AND the curated on top of it.

This Reese Witherspoon collab business with just the box design is silly to me. I guess I’m in the minority, but I throw the box away anyway, I really don’t care what’s on it.

Reply ButtonReply

Elena

The eyeliner is black actually. It has two ends. One of them is rich black, the other is light pink. I’d love to try pink one but I’m tired of black eyeliners. Don’t know what to do.

Reply ButtonReply

Elena

Sorry. My mistake. It actually appears to be only one pink shade eyeliner. I will choose this one.

Kayla

I totally agree with you about the curated box! I love it!

But, girl, keep those boxes! I wrapped so many Christmas presents in them 🙂 I created beauty boxes for my younger cousins with a little label over the BB logo with their names (in pretty font). I also use a few boxes to organize the samples I haven’t gotten to yet (hair care, make up, body products, etc.)

Hi! I want to tell you of how my experience with Birchbox was. First, I had to go through a handful of emails to pick my sample choice of this box with the laqa & company avo lip butter in ninza. This lipstick arrived completely melted and broken in pieces. I emailed Birchbox not once but twice before they responded of this damaged lipstick only to offer me a $5 dollar Birchbox credit. That is ridiculous. So, that is their worth of that product if you were to add the total dollar amount of box value. I wanted to see if anyone else had a similar experience and also add how happy I am with Ipsy.

Reply ButtonReply

Eva

Mine was broken too! They offered me the $5 credit but it still hasn’t shown up yet :-/

Reply ButtonReply

Kali Marie

I’m not sure I completely understood the tone of your email-it sounds like you had a lot of issues but then got half the cost of the box back (which I thought maybe was good surprise, but then I read it all again and decided maybe it wasn’t). But! I’m hoping you had a one-off really bad experience. I’ve been subscribed almost four years and every complaint I have is dealt with quickly and beautifully. For instance I’ve had problems with missing or broken things the past three months and I’ve gone a whole new box one month and the other two months, single new items shipped out. This last time I too had problems with that LAQA lip (it wasn’t broken in pieces but fell out of the tube completely and onto my shirt (thankfully a workout shirt) and then the counter (which I wish I could say was cleaner than it truly was) I told them about it (so if they work with company in the future they can fix that flaw) but said I didn’t need a replacement because I felt like I’d been having a lot of great cs from them that more than made up for that item. CS said thanks for letting us know and we are sending out a replacement. Days later it was there!

I definitely have better value from Ipsy and their CS is good (though not quite as good to me as Birchbox-but close). Just thought I’d throw that out there. I’m sorry if the $5 wasn’t what you wanted-i hope you get better service in the future!

Now as a company…I dislike the changes birchbox is making and I don’t know what I’ll do about that. My post was only on my one-on-one CS experience!

Reply ButtonReply

Toni

How weird I’ve also had problems the last three months ,from the whole wrong box to wrong sample choices. But their cs has fixed everyone of the problems.I will say that last month the person I dealt with was kind of a jerk ,blaming me for the problems (I’m sorry you had this misunderstanding) there was no mis understanding other than they were wrong.it’s the first time I didn’t send great ratings for the cs rep,I didn’t fill it out at all because I was afraid of what I might say

Ace

They did the same thing to me in Dec. My sample choice was their LOC eyeshadow, and when I didn’t receive it, they told me it was no longer avaliable and gave me $5, but ironically, it was still available for purchase on their website.

Reply ButtonReply

Elena

Hi Jenn! I had the same problem. My sample of Laqa & co avo lip butter in ninza came broken. I wrote to cs. After several days of waiting I got a response from them that they will send me the same sample as a replacement in 10 working days. I didn’t receive any shipping conformation from them though. So I don’t know what to expect. Sincerely I would prefer if they gave me 5 dollar credit instead. I tried the broken lipstick and it’s awful. The shade is too bold and it dried my lips.

Reply ButtonReply

HalliLikeBerry

Yeah, my lipstick was broken too. It was kind of salvageable, but I did email Birchbox CS. They responded the next day, saying that they didn’t have any more samples (seems like a lot of people had this issue), and gave me the $5 in BB credit. This is the first time I’ve had to use BB CS (this is my third month of a gift subscription), and I thought they communicated in a timely manner. From these comments, it sound like my experience is the exception. But I think that $5 is pretty generous, considering it’s half the value of the box for only 1/5 of the product.

jody

I am a new subscriber and am already not really impressed with Birchbox. I am still waiting on my February box to get here. I live in Texas. The box started out in Tennessee and is now in Indiana. Why it is going in the wrong direction and took 5 days to travel 4 hours is a mystery.

Also, I am not at all happy with the samples or the curated box for March.

Reply ButtonReply

Krista

The shipping on the $10 boxes (Birchbox and Play) is terrible in my opinion, but I think it’s just what we get for the price point, honestly. My box could sprout legs and walk to Texas from Tennessee where it starts out and get to me faster than it does as is via Newgistics or whatever.

Reply ButtonReply

jody

I guess so. It is just frustrating to watch any package go in the wrong direction, LOL.

I have decided to go with the curated box. I am not really happy with either choice, but the curated box seems like the less of two evils.

I am going to give Birchbox another month and if it remains this bad, I am going to cancel. I am pretty happy with Ipsy, so I can still have my grab bag experience. I might try Lip monthly.

Alba

Sorry but nothing beat boxycharm

Reply ButtonReply

lynn

Boxycharm is great if you want new eyeshadow palettes every month and you don’t ever need to contact their cs. I had a horrible issue with their CS that they would not resolve and I now have enough eye shadow to last the rest of my life. I would prefer to try some other products. But, to each their own.

Reply ButtonReply

Krista

Palette Charm! 😉

Kathleen

This is my first box, how do I pick my items? Confused.

Reply ButtonReply

svetlana

They will send you email notification asking to choose the sample, surprise box or curator box. Also you will have option to purchase curator box for $10. So this month I am planning to purchase curator box for $10, and choose one sample for my sub box where other 4 items will be surprise.

Reply ButtonReply

nancyisshopping

Neat that you can buy a second box!

Kc

I think I’m going to pick the curated box for the first time! Not interested in the choices but would be happy to get the lip balm and hair products.

Reply ButtonReply

liina

The lip balm gives a pretty, natural flush and slight sheen to the lips and is relatively hydrating. If your lips are super dry, they need to be exfoliated and then moisturized with a good lip balm, but with smooth lips, this is hydrating enough. Mainly, it looks pretty and just lightly glossy. I like it!

Reply ButtonReply

Dena

Kc, me too. This will be my first curated box also. I love everything in this box… including that beautiful blue box! I’m pretty excited!

Reply ButtonReply

Faith

Ugh, I HATE Benefit products (with the exception of their brow products). At least the other stuff in the curated box looks good.

Reply ButtonReply

Rachelle

I’ve just signed up so I’m a bit confused. Do i have to choose a sample? If I don’t will they choose one of those 3 items for me? Or can I not choose and get 5 products they pick for me? Thanks!

Reply ButtonReply

Katie

If you don’t choose a sample you will get the curated box. If you decide to pick one of the samples, the rest of your items will be chosen for you.

Reply ButtonReply

Amber

This is incorrect. If you don’t choose a sample, all 5 will be a surprise. Or, you can choose the curated box, or a sample choice and 4 other surprise items

Jadette

I’m going to go for the curated box. Will use everything in it. My only issue is, I went for the curated box for February but ended up with completely different items save one so I’m not sure if these are the actual items I will get in March.

Reply ButtonReply

Theresa

I’m so glad I cancelled. I absolutely hate that benefit mascara and that curated box is very uncompatible to my profile.

Reply ButtonReply

Bonnie Holmes

Birchbox really needs to setup their game. I am tried of the same samples month after month.

Reply ButtonReply

Amber P

I was just asking myself, “How many times has They’re Real! been a sample choice?”

At least three I believe.

I always check to see if I’m missing out since cancelling BB a year ago, the answer continues to be, no.

nancyisshopping

Wow, what a pretty box! I’m loving the look of this one.

I think I’ll go for the curated box. How do I tell them that I want that one?

Reply ButtonReply

liina

You can either log into your account or wait for the email that tells you to go tell them which sample you want or that you want the curated box. When you log in, go to your boxes and box customization. It is near the end of the month.

Reply ButtonReply

Marion

Of course once I’ve been Birchbox free & happy for several months, there’s 3 months in a row where I actually WANT one of the sample choices, whereas I used to have pick the “lesser evil” sample every. single. time.

Ah, well. If someone else needs to pick their own personal lesser evil, I would totes swap for the Arrow eyeliner.

Reply ButtonReply

Samantha

I kind of feel the same way, and I’m also interested in the liner, though really don’t need it.

Reply ButtonReply

Michelle

I’ll be looking to swap for the box! Not interested in any of the revealed samples.

Reply ButtonReply

Elena

I’m not impressed.

Reply ButtonReply

Jami

Me neither. So sick of seeing the Benefit They’re Real mascara and the minuscule Benefit Porefessional. It really feels like Birchbox isn’t even trying anymore.
