What’s better than romance bundled up in the cozy embrace of luxury? How about a heavy dose of chic newness to top it all off?

This month, we’re falling hard over our elegant new nail collection and four plush new shades of our beloved It’s Balm Full-Coverage Lip Crayon.

It’s safe to say that February’s elegant winter palette is leaving our hearts racing.

I just wanted to give Julep customer service a shout out…they are THE BEST!!!

I had an experience today that made me realize that I need to acknowledge a great customer service department at times when I didn’t need anything.
Thank you Julep!

Should I skip this month or swap for a powder brush? I need a new setting/bronzer brush – how is their quality? Also I just bought the 10 and five piece polish sets this week😱😂

I love everything that they make. Its all very high quality. They may not make some of the colors / product types that I like (Unicorn Tears and sparkly lip gloss), but I can not fault their formulations.

Does anyone know if the Maven Luxe is available in a prepaid 6 month subscription?

Beth

I’ve only ever seen a 3-month option.

I LOVE Julep’s skincare line but hardly ever do my nails. I kept having the problem that Debbie was having – because you are limited to just 2 makeup/skincare items in your box, I didn’t always feel like I was getting the full value of my sub.

But that changed today – I upgraded my subscription to Maven Luxe! (Julep has 2 tiers of 3-month prepaid subs, My Maven ($19.99/mo for $40 product/box) and Maven Luxe ($34.99/mo for $60 of product/box).) I think the difference is AMAZING in terms of selection of skincare/makeup items for inclusion in my box, as well as the variety of options for add-on items. I feel like I’m now getting the full value of my sub. I’ll probably end up skipping boxes some months, since I don’t need that much product. (LOL, ok, maybe I do!)

Here’s a list of the items I selected for my Maven Luxe box this month. (I always customize my boxes). I listed prices next to each item. The first price is the MAVEN price that’s shown when you search for the item through their store, the second price (in parenthesis) is how much the item would cost if it was selected as an “add-on” item to the box I customized.

1. Boost your radiance – face oil: $28.80 ($18.99)
2. Love your bare face – cleansing stick: $24.40 ($13.99)
3. Lock down your brows: $17.60 ($9.99)
4. Essential cuticle oil: $14.40 ($8.99)
5. Konjac body sponge: $12.80 ($6.99)

TOTAL $98.00 ($58.99)

Fine print: You do get 8% less savings with the Maven Luxe subscription option (i.e., you pay 58% list price ($34.99/$60 product) versus 50% ($19.99/$40 product) for the My Maven option.) However, what I gained in terms of the ability to take advantage of the full sub value seems more than worth that. For example, given the 2 skincare items limit for the My Maven boxes, if the the items I listed above were to be ordered just through the monthly My Maven boxes, it would take 2.5 months (=$50) to get all the product I did in 1 Maven Box ($34.99).

Lastly, if you want to upgrade, you don’t need to wait until your 3-mo sub renews. Just call CS. They were great. They cancelled my existing (My Maven) sub, gave me credit for the 2 unused months, and then enrolled me in Maven Luxe.

Sorry so long, but hopefully this info will help someone else!

I feel like it would be a better deal to just have two accounts?

This is really good info…thanks for sharing. I also rarely get any polish but I signed up for the sub to try more makeup and skincare (beginning to think I’m the only one! Lol). So far I feel ok with my value since I signed up with a deal that gave me $16.66 boxes for 6 months and I’ve been happy with my products (I’m fine with 2 eyeliners and a lip crayon this month) but I’ll definitely keep this in mind…especially in 4 months when my sub deal is up!

Can someone please tell me how customization works. I signed up yesterday and cannot see how I can customize or select the bag. I did fill out my profile (like eyes, skin, etc). Please help.

When you sign in and are at your “dashboard” (screen that welcomes you by name and shows your points and links to your bio, etc) there should be an option in the middle for the Julep Beauty Box that says Is Open! Click “edit my box.” That should take you to another page that shows your current box with 2 options below it — Edit Your Box or View Curated Boxes. If you want to just swap out one or some of the items, you choose edit or if you want to change to a different curated box you can check those out with the other option. From there, you can remove items and replace with others (looooong list of options) and then do add-ons and then verify your address and stuff and then save. Hope that helps…if you still don’t see it or the Beauty Box does not appear to be open maybe they just haven’t set you up fully yet since you just signed up?!?!

LB thank you so much! I saved your information because I do not see the options you described. I checked and at the order status says “processing”. I think they still setting me up.

Marion

Skipped. I was only interested in one of the polish colors, sadly.

Debbie

Don’t you always get 3 items in a Julep box? I edited my box and swapped out 2 polishes, leaving only the lip crayon. I chose to replace one with a lip oil. Now it won’t let me add anything to replace the second polish. It just has my box as having the crayon and the lip oil and it says if I want to add something else into the box I have to swap out one of those 2 items. I’ve never had that happen before.

Two beauty items, OR
Three polishes, OR
Two polishes and one beauty item.

Those are the only combinations allowed (sometimes there are little things like nail decals, too).

Debbie

Thank you Ragan!

Suzanne

How do you skip a box? This is my first month and I’m not seeing an option, so I’m wondering if you don’t get to skip when it’s the first month?

Reply ButtonReply

CB

Go to your Beauty Box, click on “Edit Details” and it’ll take you a screen where you can skip the box or change the shipping address. Click skip, click confirm. And you’re good to go!

Suzanne

Thanks ladies! I ended up deciding to get it once I saw that I could get older polish colors too. I did see the place to skip though when I was saving. 🙂

LB

You should be able to…I accidentally stumbled on it last month (my first box). Sorry, I don’t remember exactly how but you have to go through a few screens. Maybe try to customize your box, then go through the addons (maybe) and finally there is an option to skip??

Skip success! I wanted to skip last month but they snagged me with that awesome curated box with the polishes, top coat and Plie Wand. I thought the value was too good to pass up. Fortunately this month it was easy for me to skip. Some of the polishes were pretty but they will still be available next month. Now I think I will reward myself with a different February subscription box. : )

This is the 4th month in a row I’ve skipped but I did buy a bunch of items the other day with the sale.

LB

I was planning on skipping this month but I really like their eyeliner so ended up swapping out the lip crayon for a different color and then adding on 3 more items too. Skip fail. LOL. I’m just really really enjoying how customizable the Julep boxes are (it’s almost a “create your own adventure!”) and I appreciate the discounts for subscribing and the add-ons. I kind of wish I understood more about how the whole Maven thing worked a few months ago when I bought a bunch of stuff from the website to try out….but at least I still got those as part of the pre-Christmas sales.

I was fine with the selection this month. Yet decided to skip this box for boxycharm which seems to be good value and i like the selection better then julep for Feb. If Julep would have had a fun valentinesday maven box with heart nail polishes, heart nail files i might have felt differently about skipping. The curated monthly maven boxes are great value yet i really wish they would be more fun and ad some themed items in the box one could select if they wanted to.
