I never thought I would ever use dry shampoo because I have such long thick hair, but I got several samples of dry shampoo and have found its a very handy product to have around. You can throw a bottle in a bag to take on camping trips, spray some on a brush to run it through your kids hair and rub some on their face to clean them up some. Also, some of my family lives in Wisconsin and Michigan and they had a power outage. Their power was out for over a week. They couldn’t use their shower or anything. Three weeks ago, during our ice storm in Oregon, my Uncle’s power went out for 4 days a few days before Christmas. So i love getting dry shampoo. I have several bottles, but I will take many more, because it a very handy product to have around. Its my favorite item to get. Its a product I will never be without.

So I ordered my box after the start of the month and obviously missed the sample selection period which is fine. My box reveal showed up today and it’s showing the samples from the curated box. Does this usually happen? I really was hoping to not get dry shampoo or eyeliner.

I got my box today. It’s only my second month and I’m not sure I’ll continue. I received LOC One & Done Shadow Stick in Peachy Sheen, Oribe Gold Lust Dry Shampoo, Real Chemistry Luminous 3 Minute Peel for Body, Sunday Riley Good Genes All in One Lactic Acid Treatment and Wilma Schumann Skin Care Hydrating Collagen Eye Pads.

I’ll probably try the eye shadow even though I’m not a fan of the color. The body peel is a duplicate from last month. I’m happy with the lactic acid treatment and the eye pads, both are items I’m happy to try. I probably won’t use the dry shampoo.

I’ll probably check out one more month and see if I’m happier with the selections.

Wilma Schumann Skincare Hydrating Collagen Eye Pads – I see these have tons of great reviews, I can’t wait to try it!!

Real Chemistry Luminous 3 Minute Peel Body – Will definitely try this, why not.

Coastal Scents Smoky Palette – I already have the full size, and I wonder if this one will be full sized?

Milk Makeup Lip + Cheek – Can’t wait to try this, I’m so much more of a blush person than a bronzer person! 🙂

Chella Eyebrow Defining Gel – I think I may have one from this namebrand already, but I’ll give it a try.

Looks like a good box overall, not sure whether I like this or ipsy better this month. *shrugs*

This is my third box, I’m not very happy. I wished I would have chosen the Curated box. Bad move on my part. 1. Eyeko liner. 2. Amika spray. 3. Balance me skin serum 4. Parlor shampoo. 5. Parlor conditioner. 6. Juliette has a gun sample. Mmmmm. Bummer.

I am getting-
Sunday Riley Good Genes
Prep-n-Glow cloth wipes
Oribe gold lust dry shampoo
Arrow Endure mascara (my choice item)
& Coastal Scents Smokey Palette eye shadow
Very happy with this box! So glad because last month I wasn’t sure if I should continue to subscribe. =)

Hi, I had to do the “request desktop site” on my phone w/ chrome to see this so keep trying if you’re using your phone! I’m getting
R&Co shampoo + conditioner – not very excited as I’ve hated all other R&Co products
Sunday Riley good genes (sample choice)
Living Proof perfect hair day dry shampoo
Avene soothing moisture mask
Benefit it’s potent eye cream – yay! Been wanting to try this 🙂
Burts Bees lipstick in Fuschia Flood
I have no idea why 6 samples are listed for me….hope they don’t send either the mask or the lipstick as moisture masks always break me out and I’ve received 2 other bright pink neon lipsticks like the Burts Bees and have given them to my little niece to play with as I don’t know any grown woman who would wear neon pink. If I get one I’ll trade it lol! So 3 out of 5 samples I want and one I’ll use just to see (shampoo & conditioner). Not a bad month so long as I don’t get the lipstick AND the moisture mask. Would love to hear from everyone else as to the number of samples – there was a place to scroll over on my sample list and there were 6 total since the shampoo + conditioner samples always count as one. Weird!

Amy

I have received six samples many times not counting the shampoo conditioner packetts sometimes it was seven with those which I loved with the old point system because I could review all the items and get 60/70 points it not the norms but it happens to me every few months thanks for the tip of trying desktop version mine never shows it still didn’t but I’ll keep trying I love my BB

January’s box is only my second Birchbox and I already have duplicates (?) Holy Muffins.
I’m getting:

Milk Makeup Lip & Cheek
Real Chemistry Luminous 3Min Peel -Body (received this last month)
Davines Naturaltech Replumping Hair Filler
Davines Naturaltech Replumping Shampoo & Conditoner
Air Repair Complexion Boosting Moisturizer (received this last month)
Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eyeliner

I soo miss Eco-Emi and it doesn’t seem like there’s anything like it anymore.

I would contact them they have great customer service I think as long as you are polite Ave state your issue they are beyond helpful I have received 30$ worth of replacement boxes my whole order because one of them had leaked a little and I told them I wasn’t asking for anything but just to let them know that it had happened and last month my MysteryBox code works not work so I’m getting two Free one’s sent out right now plus the $7 order it rusk spray they really are amazing customer service wise I hear people complain and I have once or twice got the person who wasn’t very helpful but I’m not looking for free stuff I’ll e mail them just to say good job but you should never get duplicates unless you picked the curated box and something in it you had already received but then you know your picking it out I’m not sure about the sample choice but e mail them and let them know they could send another box or offer 50 points 5$

This will be my last box. I have only been a member since June 2016 but have already received several dupes. What put me over was this month I am getting all the sample choices, a perfume (which I always ask them not to send me), and an Eyeko liner that they’ve sent me before. I know $10 is not much, but over the course of several months it adds up and I am tired of these repeats.

Reply ButtonReply

Amy

You are not supposed to get repeats unless it’s a sample choice you pick or in a curated box you pick I have two accounts so I get repeats but it’s under me and my daughters name so they don’t know contact them they will fix it

I’m Getting:

R+CO Oblivion shampoo & conditioner (my selection)
Odacite Black Cumin & Cajeput serum concentrate (pretty excited to try this, it has great reviews for its use in helping clear up acne)
Obliphica professional seaberry serum (I am always willing to try new hair products)
bbrowbar brow definer (I’m actually a fan of my brows as is, so I do not own a single brow product, i’ll give it a try though…I am also unsure if the color will work as I have dark black eyebrows…which is why I think they look plenty defined on their own, just get them waxed regularly to keep shape)
Whish shave crave shaving cream (well this will certainly get used, i’m curious to see how sampling packaging of shave cream is going to look/work)

I’m overall pretty happy for my box this month. The only product i may end up not using is the brow definer, but i am willing to try.

Reply ButtonReply

Amy

I got the whish and I think it’s a mini bottle of regular shaving cream of I remember correctly

Reply ButtonReply

Heather

Ooh, the Obliphica is seriously amazing. It’s pricy, but one of these days I’m going to have to buy some. Nothing makes my hair look and smell nearly so good.

This is a great box for me. I was considering cancelling my subscription as the last two boxes haven been that exciting but this one finally doesnt have any hair care products or moisture masks! I’m getting:

1. Pixie Glo Tonic to go- Yay! i have the full size and love it after receiving thos as a bonus item from BB

2. Arrow water resistant mascara- yes a lot of mascara samples but im always up to try a new one plus this one is water proof and i dont have any in my rotation right now with this, so I’m excited.

3. Burts Bees lip stick – one of my You Tubers just recommended this so im excited to try and i bet it will be full size too!

4. Coastal scents palette- doubt its the full palette, but i enjoy coastal scents eyeshadow so im lookng forward to it.

5. Sunday Riley Ggod genes- sample choice and everyone has been raving about this and i wasnt able to score a sample as they were out when i went into my local sephora.

It drives me crazy that we are unable to see the reveals on the phone/through the app. I dropped my laptop over the weekend, and my desktop at work always blocks the link :/
I keep trying to tell myself that no matter what I receive that this will be my last month with Birchbox….

Reply ButtonReply

Geena

Either I just flat out don’t see it or I don’t HAVE a request desktop site link in Chrome on my phone? Either way I’m totally jealous of all you people who get an early box preview! When I click the link it just pretends to load and then never does. 🙁

Reply ButtonReply

Chrystal

It took a few times for me to see it as well. My settings menu looked like 3 vertical dots in a row in the top right hand corner. I had to use chrome to log into Birchbox, then open another window to follow the link from MSA to get mine to work. I have the iPhone 6s, so it may be different if you’re using a different device.

Sherese

After you click on the site under chrome, hit the chrome settings menu. (Usually in the top right corner) scroll down a little bit until you see the request deskstop site. It’ll have a box next to it. Click it. Then you should see it. 😚 hope it works for you.

Sherese

Just go on the site through chrome on your phone. Then click request desktop site. Itll show it then

Glitterfly

Thanks this really worked for me too!

Chrystal

Thank you Sherese 🤗

I haven’t seen anyone else with my box yet – I’m getting 6 items this month, I’m pumped!

1. Sunday Riley Good Genes (my choice)

2. Arrow mascara (sure!)

3. Milk Makeup lip + cheek stick (I’m a fan of this brand and haven’t tried this product yet)

4. Coastal Scents Revealed Smoky Palette (…meh, I own the Naked Smoky palette)

5. derma e night cream with hyaluronic acid (yes please!)

6. Benefit Cosmetics It’s Potent! Eye Cream (heck yeah!)

Cheryl

Twins! I was pleasantly surprised when I saw these six products.

-R+Co OBLIVION Clarifying Shampoo
-R+Co OBLIVION Restorative Gel Conditioner
-Pixi by Petra Glow Tonic To-Go
-Sunday Riley Good Genes All-in-One Lactic Acid Treatment (sample choice)
-Beauty Protector Protect & Oil
-Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eyeliner

I really like my box this month. The only thing I might trade is the eyeliner. I all ready have a little sample of the glow tonic in a little bottle from the target 12 Days of Beauty Faves Advent Calendar. I really like it. It will be nice to have some to-go.

Reply ButtonReply

Ali

I’ve gotten the eyeko eyeliner in two subscriptions now and even though im not a fan of liquid eyeliner either this one is really good for underlining the top lashes. just lightly use it to fill in the spaces between your lashes and it will stay put without giving you a heavy eyeliner look. i wear contacts and this one doesn’t irritate my eyes, its great.

Sherese

Im getting the same box

AmySoup777

ohhhhh restorative gel conditioner!! that sounds amazing!! I hope you love it!! 😀

Okay, so last month I didn’t pick a sample and I got NONE of the choices for that month. This month, I almost did the same, but I had heard so much about the Sunday Riley that I figured I’d get that one. So what do I get in my box? 6 samples – the shampoo/conditioner choice, the arrow mascara choice, the Sunday Riley ( my pick) and a perfume and an Avene skin mask. All three of the samples for this month in my box. Yikes!

Reply ButtonReply

Amie

–R + Co Clarifying shampoo and conditioner. My sample choice. I’ve loved everything I’ve tried from R+Co so excited about this.
–Arrow water resistant mascara. I generally can only use tube/fiber mascaras like blinc so this will probably not be used.
–Sunday Riley Good Genes. Glad for this as I was indecisive about this or the R+Co for my sample choice.
–Avene soothing moisture mask. I already got this in another box a few months ago (or maybe it was another sub box?) In any case, I really liked it so am not going to turn down another!
–And Juliette Has a gun MMM perfume. Eh. I’m just never going to be into fragrance samples

All in all not a bad box. Will use all but the eye cream.

Matrix Biolage R.A.W. Recover Conditioner
Matrix Biolage R.A.W. Recover Shampoo
NuFACE Prep-N-Glow™ Cloths
Bobbi Brown Hydrating Eye Cream
ARROW ENDURE Water-Resistant Mascara – Sample Choice

Sara

Pixi by Petra Glow Tonic To-Go
R+Co OBLIVION Restorative Gel Conditioner
R+Co OBLIVION Clarifying Shampoo
Sunday Riley Good Genes All-in-One Lactic Acid Treatment (Sample choice – although this may go to my son, as I have been reading a lot about how it makes acne scars disappear and he suffered with “bacne” throughout his teenage years)
Beauty Protector Protect & Oil
— Overall I am happy with my box. I think most of it will go into my travel bin, which is good because I will use it and at not go in my “to the nieces” bag. 🙂

Krista

Box twin 🙂 I’m pretty happy with this month too.

Dawn

Pixi by Petra Glow Tonic To-Go
Sunday Riley Good Genes All-in-One Lactic Acid Treatment
amika Bombshell Blowout Spray
Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eyeliner
Klorane Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk – For All Hair Types

Mostly interested in the first three especially the blow out spray. I LOVE the amika dry shampoo. The last two I will pass on to a friend.

Lisa

Box twin!! Im ok with this box….well except the dry shampoo😔

Box twin! (Triplet? Quadruplet?)

I am pretty excited about this box. I am new to Birchbox and Ipsy so I haven’t gotten any of these items yet.

The Pixi things sound interesting and everyone was raving about Sunday Riley. I like liquid liner, so it will be cool to try a new one (I usually use MAC’s Penultimate Liner). I haven’t received any dry shampoos yet, so I am looking forward to trying the Klorane.

The only thing I’m not super excited about is the Amika spray, but mostly because I have received so many hair items recently – the Beauty Protector spray in last month’s box, Argan Oil from Ipsy, Dessange Top Coat Serum from PSMH December, and R+Co Tinsel Smoothing Oil from the PSMH Limited Edition Women’s box. I will still try it, though!

Reply ButtonReply

Chrystal

I’m getting the same..I actually like the Eyeko liner but received it a few months ago in both Allure & Ipsy. Most excited about the Pixi and Sunday Riley products this month. I really hope I end up receiving these exact items. Last month what I received was different than the initial sneak peek items, which was pretty disappointing.

Reply ButtonReply

Kristy

Me too. Don’t wear black eyeliner or use dry shampoo, but the other 3 I love!!

Reply ButtonReply

Kaitlyn

Box twin here too. I agree about the first three and I always use dry shampoo so it won’t go to waste. The eyeliner isn’t something I’ll use much.

Reply ButtonReply

Bonnie

This is the box I am getting as well. I have already received this Eyeko liquid liner a few times in boxes, and I really don’t like liquid liner 🙁

Reply ButtonReply

Amber

Pixi glow tonic to go-ok
R+Co shampoo and conditioner (sample choice)
Sunday Riley good genes…did not want at all hence the reason I didn’t pick it!
Beauty protector protect & oil…tried before and it’s ok just don’t need anymore oil
Eyeko skinny liner..ugh
Not a good box this month

Reply ButtonReply

tpop

Eh…Eyeko liner is becoming the new Manna Kadar bronzer; it’s everywhere and I don’t use it. Lost track of how many I’ve given away.

I also got three hair products, but I’m okay with that.

Reply ButtonReply

Lynn

I’m getting

– R & Co. shampoo and conditioner
– Living Proof dry shampoo
– Burt’s Bees lipstick
– Sunday Riley Good Genes (sample choice)

Really not happy that three of my five samples are haircare. 🙁

Reply ButtonReply

Melissa

Are you sure you don’t get another sample? My box had both the same shampoo and conditioner. When I looked at my samples I clicked the arrow to the right and saw one more sample ( for a total of 6.). I think the shampoo and conditioner count as one sample. I think you’ll get the same one as if you picked the sample choice w/ the small conditioner.

Reply ButtonReply

EC

I hoped this would be a good final month box but sadly it isn’t. The good thing is it reinforced my decision not to renew for another year. I’m once again getting a perfume sample (my 8th one in 12 months despite choosing the “no more than 6/year option), shampoo and conditioner foil samples, useless to me with my very long, thick hair; ditto for my daughters), another mascara (for a total of 8 in one year, the cheap, house brand they’ve sent me before) another eyeliner (7 in 12 mos – and this one is a duplicate of the Eyeko they sent me 2 months ago) and my sample choice Sunday Riley. There is no real brand variety for me and certainly no discovery aspect remaining with the countless duplicates and the never ending products from the same categories (mascara and shampoo). I’ll miss the boxes since they’re cute and more importantly to me, handy for shipping things, but otherwise that’s it.

Reply ButtonReply

Luna

Also… Sephora Play bag numbers are out! I’ll be getting #476 for both of my boxes. Too bad making my profiles the complete opposite of each other (with the exception of skin tone, hair & eye color) didn’t work again (it worked for one month). Maybe because they mentioned this month’s boxes would have skin tone specific products in it. Oh well… I’ll still keep the two boxes going for awhile. 🙂

Reply ButtonReply

Jennifer Pursley

How do you find out what bag number you’re getting? This will be my first one…finally got off the waiting list!

Reply ButtonReply

Samantha

Thanks for the heads up! Mine ends in the same number and also says “PLAY! by SEPHORA / January 2017 Play E.” What is your skin tone? Mine is light to medium, but I have medium entered on Sephora Play since they don’t really give you that option. Hope it works out!

Reply ButtonReply

Luna

I have medium marked too. 🙂

Victoria

What’s that “You have reviewed 0 of 5 for points” bit up there?

Reply ButtonReply

Luna

I think that means that Liz hasn’t reviewed the five samples yet that she’s allowed to review for points. When the point system changed last year, it went from getting points for every sample reviewed to getting points for only 5 samples reviewed during the life of your subscription that is used with a specific email account.
