Happy Rebel Box Winter 2016 – Shipping Update


FYI – some Happy Rebel Box subscribers may have a delay in shipment on the Winter box. (Thank you, Sara, for sharing this update with us.)

Greetings, Happy Rebel.  I hope you are enjoying the holiday season so far.

I wanted to personally reach out to inform you of an anticipated delay in the shipment of our Winter box.
Our beautiful hand woven blankets arriving from Chile have experienced shipping delays, and a portion of our order has still not arrived.  As a result, members who joined us on or after November 15th will likely experience a delay in the shipment of their Winter box.  I know many of us have already been affected by mail-related delays during this time of year, and unfortunately it seems like we are no exception.  While this is not the message I would like to be sending to our members, I would prefer to be transparent and communicate openly regarding this situation, rather than keep you guessing as to when you box may arrive.
We are working fervently with the vendor to get the missing blankets in hand quickly so that our affected members can receive their winter box with as little delay as possible.  I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.  If this delay impacts your desired shipping address, or if you have any other questions or concerns about this situation, please feel free to reply to this email.  We have put together a very exciting collection for this box, so I am confident it will be worth the short wait.

  1. I love Happy Rebel. Their customer service is superb, the founder Johanna is so kind, and they are great at getting back to any emails fast. I can totally understand how hectic a first winter box might be, as it’s their first time shipping during heavy mail holiday time. I know I will love my box either way based on the two spoilers alone and getting to pick our colors. Even if there is a small shipping delay and it somehow doesn’t arrive right before Xmas, it will still be a great winter box and like a little after Xmas bundle of relaxation if it comes a few days late.

    • Well said. This will be my first box and looking forward to it. I have had a few emails with Johanna and came away feeling like this box is truly about making people happy. I am sure this delay has been unsettling for Happy Rebel. Tough time of year based on holidays and weather and must be even harder when you are also dependent on outside vendors.

    • I totally agree! It can be a New Year’s Eve present. 😁

  2. I’m glad not to have any more spoilers! I like to keep an element of surprise with some of the box, and it seems like the throw is the hero item anyway. I’m guessing the other items are smaller since the throw + candle are $160 total.

    • Agreed! I like the surprise!

  3. Skeptical about the rest of the box if there are no more spoilers after this.

    • I like spoilers but I also like their whole aesthetic and trust the rest will fit and be lovely. I was so impressed with how cohesive the fall box was. Nothing felt out of place. It’s nice to have one box coming that’s a surprise to me.

    • Sure is

    • It’s still available, but they can’t guarantee the throw/candle of your choice until after they ship the member boxes out. I’m holding off on purchasing for that reason as I’m only interested in the grey throw.

      • I’m sure if you email and ask if the grey throw was one they had an issue getting the stock of or not and if you could definitely get a grey one, if they have them they would let you pick the color. It’s worth an email if you’re interested for the grey color.

      • I already emailed them awhile back. Their response was what I wrote above. That they couldn’t guarantee since it was past the choice selection deadline, but would let me know once all the members received their boxes.

  5. If the boxes are going to be delayed I wish they would give more spoilers for the remaining items. Thank you for being transparent about the delays though!

  6. Oh that stinks! I’m glad they sent out messages but I wish there was some sort of timeframe included. It’s so vague. 😕

    • I agree! Even if it was just as simple as a “we expect this box will / will not arrive before Christmas.” I’ve got gift planning to do!

      It would also be nice if they could offer the option of two-part shipping: everything except for the blanket now, and then the blanket later. I realize this would increase shipping costs for Happy Rebel, but I think it might be worth it for the result the good customer experience would have on subscriber retention and referrals.

      • I completely agree. I think if they would offer 2 different shipments, it would go a long way with their customers. I am glad they were up front and honest about the issue though. But I really do wish they would release a few more spoilers since we have to wait. And a timeframe would be nice….definitely may need to reconsider Christmas gifts now.

      • Oh I really like that idea! It would esp help if the delay causes it to come after Christmas as mine was a gift

      • Can’t say I agree.. I really see these boxes as a very thought-out presentation where it all works together. Splitting it up would defeat the purpose and spoil the theme. I think it will be worth the wait. I am also super happy that we had the option to choose colors/styles without paying more. I am constantly getting emails from FFF admonishing me to upgrade my account so they will allow me to have any choice. I find it annoying as I have been getting several such emails per week. So I really appreciate the selections in this box! It all looks so beautiful, I can’t wait! I chose the candle my husband would like the best so if it’s late for xmas, it will be for Valentine’s Day!

      • I totally agree with loving that they let us choose our colors without paying more. It makes everyone feel like a VIP. I am not at all mad at Happy Rebel about the shipping delay since they were honest with their customers. It’s only driving me crazy because I’m so excited to get my box 🙂
