Wish I looked at spoilers before ordering. This box was terrible!!! I think Julep is going downhill fast in terms of quality.
I got two bronzers, one stick and one powder, and the powder pan is set improperly and there was bronzer powder all over everything! Why two bronzers in a winter box??
The only polish I liked was Delia, but their metallic formulas have been awful lately and seem to chip within a day…
Starting to rethink any future Julep orders 🙁

Ugh that’s the exact same box I got!! I emailed customer service about how the powder bronzer was smashed all over everything and they requested pictures for proof. I then sent another email with a bunch of pictures and I also told them how poorly planned this box was. To include two bronzers in a winter box is insane. They completely ignored everything I said and just sent me a tracking number for a new powder bronzer. Definitely my first and last mystery box.

I’m super disappointed with this box!! The polishes are pretty, as always, but the other products I’m not thrilled with. The lipgloss will be gifted because I will never use it and the blush stick I received is not a blush stick at all. It’s in the color warm bronze and does not work with my skin tone, it’s much too dark. I also received a powder bronzer that was completely smashed and all over everything. So I’m upset that I’m missing out on a product, but that being said I probably wouldn’t have used it anyway. Is it just me or are two bronzers a weird inclusion for a winter mystery box??

Contact customer service and I’m sure they’ll replace the damaged product. I thought it was supposed to be a blush stick and the eye illuminator, I guess there’s some variation in boxes? I wonder if they go by your style profile at all if you’re a maven.
I really liked the two polishes but once I saw spoilers I decided this mystery box wasn’t for me.

Thanks, I think I will! & yeah I was super disappointed I didn’t get the eye illuminator. I guess maybe they ran out of it? If they went by my style profile they would have seen that bronzer stick is way too dark for me

That purple nail Polish (delia) though…. seriously gorgeous! Also in love with the green sparkle (dominique) one. great mystery box this time julep! Keep it going 🙂

So happy with this box. I also got the mystery add on worth $38, for free. So I got 7 polishes, the illuminator stick, 2 different blush sticks and the lipgloss. That brings the value to over $180.

what exactly did the mystery add on contain? I didn’t get mine and I’m waiting for it on back order grrrr….

I got the dancing in the moonlight mystery duo as an add on at the check out (sorry, I think that’s what it’s called) using my OCT10 coupon and my duo was Marla nailpolish and skip the blush stick in moonlight sand

It’s funny. I love subscription boxes for the value, but I hate surprises. I’d already seen the instagram pic of this box when I’d ordered, plus I chose the free polish and used the coupon that Liz posted so I could pick my shade instead of the “free mystery gift”. I’d just rather have a polish I know I want, even if the mystery gift is worth more.

I was pleasantly surprised with this box. 6 lovely glittery shades. I was hoping for some pretty colors to gift to my BFF for Christmas, and I was not disappointed! She loves glitter everything. The makeup items will go up for swap. Not that they are bad items, just things I won’t use. Well worth the cost

Another blush stick, lipgloss, and 4 out of 6 polishes I already own. Sigh..
For anyone interested, the 4 other polishes are Tish, Dominique, Delores, and Tyra.

I seriously hope that each box did not contain this same formula but from what I’m finding out it does…. ugh…. does anyone know if most of their mystery boxes are mostly polish?

Natasha
Are all mystery boxes the same? Or do they vary?

Hi there! For anyone interested, I did order this mystery box and just received it in the mail today. In addition to the two polishes that were the star products, it contains, 1 lipgloss, 1 blush stick, 1 face & eye illuminator and 4 more polishes: 1 blush pink, 1 silver glitter, 1 purple sparkle and 1 teal green. I am disappointed that my box did not contain the diamond earrings. I was hoping against hope to get the earrings. Oh well.

Thanks for the spoilers! Do you mind posting the colour names of the products, or maybe just a few photos? Trying to decide whether or not to order the box. 🙂
Also – they draw a winner from whoever has ordered a box. So you could still win! 🙂

I ordered this box, excited to get! i ALWAYS read everyones reviews before buying and i just wanted to make a comment on the actual company. I ordered the bewitched box and the free polish. All I got was the free polish; so disappointed! I emailed the company and they sent one to me without any questions or problems. I’ll probably end up buying all their boxes because their of their customer service. Just wanted to share!

Anyone else get an email from Julep stating that someone could win a pair of real 1ct diamond earings?

I have so many polishes – I don’t know why I got this because anything other than the two new ones will probably be dupes. Hoping for decent cleansers or makeup items, or even a brush. The lippies they send out in these mystery boxes tend to be kind of garish bright colors though, so I’m hoping for something more subtle for once.

A very easy pass for me. No makeup bag? Thank you, but no, thank you.

Melissa
That seems like an odd comment. Julep mystery boxes don’t usually include a makeup bag.

Ragan
Haha, lack of a makeup bag is actually a selling point for me. I just gave about 50 of them (not an exaggeration, and none of them ever used) to Goodwill.

I got one, I haven’t gotten a Julep box since July. The new polishes are beautiful.

I wonder how many of the other items will be polish. Hmm. I wish I liked Julep’s polish – but I don’t. However, those are pretty colors and I am a polish addict. lol With the codes, it does sound like a great deal. Argh. Decisions.

Same here – I don’t like this polish, but makeup and skincare is another story altogether :).

You’re not alone. The value draws me in enough to order the mystery boxes, but I absolutely hate their polish. It doesn’t last and it takes too many coats to get color payoff & an even finish. I find myself for reaching for every other brand in my collection but this one.

Melissa
Weird. I use Julep all the time. Most are 2 coasters and last for a good week.

I’m so glad you responded. I thought I was the ONLY one who didn’t like their polish. I see girls go on and on about getting this sub and I just don’t understand it. Glad it works for some, but I just don’t think its good quality. I’ve traded all away that I’ve received, after trying it out.
Maddie
One box will contain 1 carat diamond earrings!

are the mystery boxes worth it? i dont sub to julep .. I dont want it to be a disappointment like PUR $15 mystery bags with old dried out items ??

I am probably odd man out, but I was disappointed with the last mystery box (my first ever). SO much polish, an orange eyeshadow, and a body scrub. Only the body scrub and one polish made the cut for me. I’d be more keen if I knew the ratio of makeup to nail polish to skin care. I’m picky about nail color. Also, Julep values are pretty nuts, so that’s something to consider, too.

Melissa
Orange eyeshadow? You mean brown?
MrsH
I was disappointed in the last mystery box as well. But I’m thinking maybe this one will be awesome because the last one was just meh, and I have serious FOMO. So I will probably end up buying it.
Amber P
I think they’re definitely worth it. I built up a huge Julep collection from just buying mystery boxes for over a year before becoming a Maven. The only thing I’d say is that unless otherwise stated you should expect to receive both make up and polish items in the box.

I bought this as I thought the spoiler polishes looked beautiful, and I actually don’t have them in my collection yet! I looked at my order history, and August was the last time I purchased anything from Julep (which is an eternity for me!), because all of their mystery box spoilers or other special set spoilers showed at least one polish I already have. I haven’t been subscribed since June, so hopefully any other mystery polishes won’t be duplicates.

Ragan
I think I am sitting this one out. I always get so tempted and then the polishes come and the non-spoilered colors are almost all duplicates of shades I already have.

I’m not loving Delia (she looks too much like Maggie to me) but I do like the value of this box. I think mystery boxes are typically valued at $100 and this one shows $150+. Hmm…thinking…hmm.

I went ahead a purchased it! My first mystery box in over a year. I also added on the mystery duo. I think Julep’s holos are getting better and better!

I ordered this mystery box and added on the Dancing in the Moonlight Mystery set for $9.99 and used the OCT10 code so it was free. I can’t wait to see what else is included in the box.

Thanks Teresa for the code idea. I was just going to get an extra polish for the extra but this is so much better! Hopefully the mystery duo will be good colors.

Jennifer
@Teresa K, Thank you for the code. I just did the same thing!

Julep has been killing it lately with the holos, their original holo formula was not the greatest so I’m glad to see this positive upturn. I didn’t take a box this month so….obviously I need to take this one!
Julep makes a killing off me every November, obviously this will not be an exception.

Just bought the mystery box and used the freenovember coupon to add the Whitney polish. I officially have a polish addiction and may need to seek out a support group.

Whitney is my favorite. I actually had to buy a second bottle. I have so many polishes but go to Whitney over and over again. It’s a beautiful neutral.

I will probably take advantage of a good Julep sale too! They have many products that I enjoy, especially lip products.

I just purchased the mystery box. I really like the color combo in the preview. Hoping for more winners to come (lipstick please!!!)
