So they sent me an email last week saying that I’d finally re-earned my ACE status [since it expired last year right when I resubbed for a year]. They didn’t bother telling me why, which I was confused about since I’d been 40 pts away. But, now that this is my last month of BB it doesn’t matter since I’m not resubscribing. The box is good for finding new products if you don’t mind that they send you items that have little to do with your beauty profile.

It is still too hard to earn points. I am no longer a subscriber, still an ace and happy about that so I can purchase and get perks but regardless if one were to stay an ace they would either have to spend $400 a year on product or take advantage of getting the one year subscription (pay one year up front get 100 points) and then STILL spend $300 in the shop over the year. Who spends that much on product especially those getting samples every month you really do not need to buy that much stuff.

I used to love BB and will not echo what’s been said because … it’s been said. The “free shipping” is a great perk, in theory. I live no kidding less than 90 minutes from their warehouse (TN), and my orders have been arriving later and later. This last one took 2 SOLID WEEKS to get here, because they shipped it all the way to California and back to the east coast then up again (it went through 5 states). I PMd CS and told them it just seems silly they would choose this shipping method and that as much as I love their products (I still do, just not the boxes lately), I’m VIB Rouge and Sephora and Platinum at Ulta. So really, ball is in their court…lady was nice but was basically like, oh well.

Might be a little slow on the uptake here but are we not earning points for reviewing anymore? If so that’s completely bogus ?

I was a subscriber since the beginning and I kept BB even after trying and canceling tons of other boxes that didn’t live up to the hype. I canceled BB last week. I spent enough to get Ace for another year, but I am tired of craptastic boxes that come with products I won’t use. $10 isn’t much and that’s what kept me paying for so long, but enough is enough. I’ve tweaked my profile time and again thinking it would matter and it never has. I’m tired of repeats, the loss of points for reviews sucks, and their lack of care also sucks. I used to feel like a valued subscriber (remember when they would send random fun extras to say thanks like the embossed leather key fob that holds gloss, or the adorable BB shaped bracelet?!?! I still have mine!) Now it feels like we’re just a sea of people who pay them to throw crap in boxes. I’m over it. I don’t know why it took me so long to cancel, but after I did I felt relieved lol

I’ve been an Ace for awhile, and never thought it was that big of a deal. My immediate feeling when I got this email was that it was an act of desperation. Getting rid of points for reviews was a huge mistake, and I’m sure they lost a lot of subscribers. This may be my last month. My boxes have not been very good, and I’m definitely feeling that this is a sinking ship and I probably should jump off!

Birchbox really screwed up with getting rid of their points system and the CEO’s dismissive attitude of monthly box subscribers. I agree that this is too little too late.

Too little, too late, in my opinion.

Whoohoo. NOT.

Exactly- I cancelled.

I’ve been an Ace for a few years but it really doesn’t fantastic perks. Yes, I can get free shipping which saves me money but that’s the only thing. The other stuff, like getting early access to sample choice, isn’t that big of deal. I have enough point for 2017 but I’m not concerned about accumulating more.

I quit BB when they made the changes with the points system. I won’t buy from them anymore. They emailed me to tell me I qualified as an ace for next year. Whoopee.

so did I, it’s sad, but I was like really? Not OKAY!

Because of review points already earned this year and some spending in the shop, I’m already an Ace for next year. But I don’t anticipate being an Ace beyond that unless something big changes.

Same!

Do you get points for your monthly subscription? I have an annual one, and I got 110 points when I purchased it, so I can’t check on my own account.

I was just about to ask this. I checked my account, and I don’t see any points for having purchased the November box. That sucks. The Sephora Play! monthly boxes earn points.

Tamara

Yes, Play earns you points, but to be fair Sephora points verge on being worthless.

Donna h

No you don’t get points for the sub box purchases. When I questioned them they said they might consider it in the future

I was wondering the same thing. November was the end of a year subscription. I switched to monthly for December. I am only 18 points away from Aces. I would have been there if they had not eliminated the points for reviews. I am curious what the deep discounts for Black Friday will be. Will it be worth it to spend the $18?

I thought I was done with Birchbox after their points for review ended, but I checked my account and I have 380 for this year. I think it would be worth it to spend another $20 and keep Aces status. Thanks, Birchbox!

Bah humbug. I guess the cheapest option is to do 4 referrals to myself. But since it says “for a limited time” I’m guessing that loophole will be eliminated soon.
