  1. I received the July 2015 box and sent a complaint email. They were kind enough to send out a “Best of Box” to make up for it. I got the box yesterday – IT WAS THE SAME BOX I COMPLAINED ABOUT!

  2. I was promised a replacement and today received the Nov. box. I am very happy with that, and emailed to tell them. (I have decided to always comment when something is good, not only when I have a complaint.)

    • I received my replacement box today also and am very pleased with it. The mirror alone was worth the price of the first box. I got a mixture of products from a few different months😀

  3. I love Dermstore. When I called to report the expired product, they promised to replace with the December box. It took one more call to confirm, but they made it right.

  4. So, I ordered 2 of the mystery boxes. Both were the July 2015 boxes. Monday I sent an email to them because both of the mascaras were dried out. I got an automated response that they would reply back within 72 hours. I got 2 emails today one to confirm my Return Merchandise Authorization. 2nd was order confirmation for 2 BeautyFix Best of BeautyFIX II. Which I believe is the exact same box I originally got. Hopefully they are checking all of the mascaras to make sure they aren’t replacing with another dried out mascara.

  5. I emailed them last week about my expired and dried out products, but they haven’t even bothered to followup yet. I did get a survey regarding my satisfaction with their service/response. I think the lowest score was 1, so that’s what I gave them. Not a happy customer here.

  6. I have noticed that anyone who posts something negative regarding the mystery box on the Dermstore Facebook pages gets their post deleted. This doesn’t sit well with me; it seems dishonest. I’m not particularly bent about what I received, it was $15, I got than that in value, but some of the dishonesty I’m seeing from them is really concerning.

    • Wow! That doesn’t sound good.

    • They are deleting comments on reviews too. But they can’t delete the review itself. So feel free to review them all you want. 😉

  7. I did a live chat with customer service last week and was assured that I would be receiving the December box as a replacement. However, the email confirmation I received over the weekend indicated it was the Best of Beautyfix II box. I did another live chat with CS today and they advised it was in fact the Best of Beautyfix and they could not change it to the December box because it has already shipped. Just FYI when you get the email you should call or chat immediately if you want the December box instead. It is wayyyyyyyy better.

  8. Heads up to anyone who got this. I thought it was a one time deal (like the write up above said) but I just got charged for a box for a subscription. I also got an odd email today with a number to return the mystery box I got, which I didn’t want to or need to do. I hope their customer service is good…

    • Update: I just noticed the stuff I got was old stuff… just another thing to figure out…

  9. I feel like I got the short end of the stick. My mascara was dried out and all they offered was to send another mascara. I bet that’s dried up too.

    • You need to call. There’s a difference between and 1 800 Dermstore. Always talk to the people, you get a better, customer service. PS, it’s cheaper just to replace one mascara.

  10. Warning to all those promised a December box: you might not be getting that. You may be getting the second variant of the mystery box, which is the July 2015 box (even older). I know because I GOT that variant in the first place, complained about that variant specifically because it was old with dried up mascara, was promised a December box, and then was shipped the SAME BOX again. They refunded me for the original purchase, but I am furious with them, and I let them know if (though I told the CSR I knew it wasn’t their personal fault). I will never buy from them ever again, including other Dermstore products. You DO NOT offer something as a new “mystery box” to entice new customers and then send out your 1+ year old stock of unsold boxes that anyone can look up on MSA. And then send it again as a half a**ed refund. Its baffling to me that they thought this was a good deal. I guess that’s what the “mystery” of it all is.

  11. I have a question to those who ordered more than one. Did you receive different items? I read the comments about getting a couple boxes and thought, yes let’s go! I ordered three. Unfortunately I received the same box. I only like one item. So disappointed.

    • I bought 4 to give as gifts- they were all exactly the same except for the eyeliners being different colors. I received the email and spoke with CS today and she said they would be sending 4 December boxes as replacements. I feel like they have handled this very well overall- can’t wait to see what the December box is…

      • I received my replacement November box. Other than the fact that the Manna Kadar eyeshadow is a crumbly mess I think it’s a great value for $16. I’m very satisfied with Beautyfix. Their customer service is awesome.

      • My Manna Kadar eyeshadow from a previous box was also a crumbly mess. I put it in a small container and added witch hazel, stirred it around, put it back in the case – the next day it was back to new. I actually think the remixed version is better than the original and I use it often. Sounds like a project but it was very quick (and fun, if you’re weird like me lol).

I cannot believe that they tried to pass off a July 2015 (!!!!!) box that everyone hated as a Black Friday “mystery box.” They have to know customers would look it up on this site and then discuss it. I complained, and they are sending me a December box, which I appreciate. Good customer service. But it’s still a shady thing to do, and as a potential new customer, I don’t think I’ll be subscribing.

  13. Ok, so I contacted customer service and got a quick response. They will send me a December box. But I also got a separate email with a return number?? Do they expect me to return the entire box with the expired items???…..

    • Nope, it’s just the procedure. They don’t want that stuff back, save them the trouble and trash it yourself haha! (But also, seriously)
