Got my box yesterday- can someone tell me how the w3ll brightener is supposed to be used? I think full size may be in stick form, but the sample is in a little pot. Couldn’t find this on the website either. I have to use my pinkie to get it out of the pot, and then?? Highlighter cream?? It won’t rub into my skin and it feels dry and awful. Maybe I got a bad batch?? TIA!!

I got mine today, not all that impressed. I think that had this been the typical 5 dollar box, or even the 7 dollar box, I would have had a higher opinion of it but for the 10 dollar price, I really didn’t think that it was worth it. I am ALWAYS way more eager to receive my Ipsy bag. It just kind of lacked “oomph.” Don’t get me wrong, I really liked the eyeliner this month…Black eyeliner is something that I always need. The eyelash primer was alright, I didn’t hate it. The leave-in conditioner is another thing that I enjoyed receiving because my hair is in a weird, “I am going to be dry no matter what you do” phase. The other items, were blah. Other than the conditioner packet and the eyeliner, everything else fell into the just ok or blah categorey. This was my first purchase of the box and it left me feeling very underwhelmed and not understanding what the big hype is. Maybe next months will be better.

Really…you didn’t like the w3ll people or the face mask or the day cream?

Reply ButtonReply

Season

No, not really my thing. I don’t really use those types of items on my skin. I am a simple face wash kind of girl. I don’t use moisturizers on my skin because for the most part, they tend to make my skin feel oily. I will occassionally use a mask but I never really notice any huge differences with them.

Rebecca

I agree – the Laneige mask is probably $4 or $5 on its own, and I love sheet masks! Andalou I think is full size, and I needed a new day cream, so yay! I’ve never used highlighter, even though I have some from other sub boxes, but intend to try. The shampoo and deep conditioner are OK, they’ll get used, and the eyeliner and lash primer will also eventually get used. I’m only so so on lash primer (I’m currently using Benefit They’re Real primer and mascara, and I’m not really sold on the primer), but I’ll use it. I’m currently drowning in mascara and eyeliner, so this eyeliner will go in the box with the others to be used eventually.

All in all, a solid box. I’d have liked it better at $7 and lived it at $5, but I’m OK with it at $10. I hope the fact that it hasn’t sold out sends the message that they should keep the price down!

Rebecca

My box arrived today (IL to coastal SC). I don’t think it’s ever shipped and arrived that fast! Maybe because they don’t have many to ship… it’s still for sale. Mine was good, though. My husband even said it looked like a good box. He’s waiting for another men’s box so that he can join in the fun 😉

I got mine on Friday, but I usually get mine within a couple of days because I live in Chicago and it ships from Chicago… so that’s not different for me 🙂 I like this box because I will use everything except the shampoo, which I will either throw into a swap or donate to a homeless shelter.

I don’t get why people would complain about receiving a box that they don’t like, when they know what was in it when they ordered? The contents aren’t a surprise, which is why I only order Target boxes when I like the box and feel the price is good for the value… I like skincare and makeup basics so this was good for me 🙂

Nan

Got mine too.

This box looks to be around $35…depending on like 2 of the products sizes but that’s my guess. This would be my first box, wish it was less but like 3 times or more the value is not bad…I bought it. I thought they use to be a mystery that I could never buy because they sold out. I’m not upset with my purchase.

I’m back baby! This is my first Target box since April. I usually don’t even consider purchasing when they’re priced at $10 buuuuut.. I want everything in this box! This is my go to liner for tight lining between lashes, love that sheet mask, NEED everything rose in my life, and super stoked for the W3ll brightener stick (especially since highlight is basically all I wear on a daily basis). I’ve been interested in what mascara primer could do but never enough to buy one so this works out for me too. Don’t really care about another travel shampoo but love a conditioning mask. Even more excited for this box because I passed on Ipsy this month.

Dang, this one is still available on the website to buy. Guess the $10 price point is off-putting for a lot of people.

Still deciding if I should give it a shot.

About time they make enough of them! They’ve been doing them long enough to know that they are popular- why make them so limited? That baby box was sold out in something like 2 days- I read Mommy Blogs and so many Mom’s were really unhappy that they missed out. Consumers want more choices too- like Men’s boxes and especially kids & baby items.

I’d rather be able to just buy a box or two in the store and not have to deal with shipping. I think we’d get increased value too if they didn’t have to deduct some $$ for mailing costs.

I actually liked last month’s. It had far more that I was interested in.

This month is so blah and lame. It just looks like crap you can pick up from their trial size bins. Total pass. Here’s hoping December works out better. The last six months or so have been really hit or miss. :/

Uh ohhh, did my comment get deleted because I mentioned a coupon site? I thought I was in the clear because I didn’t include a referral link or anything. Oh well, the deal is over now anyway, I think!

Just a reminder to all to check ALL of the coupon sites, because I was able to get 1/2 off this box today, which made it worth it to me…
Oh and I agree that the W3LL product looks like the powder tub and not the stick, but we’ll see when it gets here, haha.

What was the coupon code? I couldn’t find one.

Reply ButtonReply

Amanda

wait I paid full price…what was the site?

No need for any of these items, so an easy pass for me this month and last month.

Hi Liz,
We’re you able to find out any more info regarding the men’s Target Beauty Box? I purchased 2 within 12 minutes of the post. I received an email confirmation of my order.A little while later I received an email canceling my order. A short time after that I received a refund notice.
I’m sure a lot of us went through the same thing.
Thanks,
Stephanie

Hey Target – do you check these reviews? Your box has been available for sale for around 8 hours or so and still NOT sold out. Get it, yet?
Please go back to how great they used to be! Thanks.

I feel like the curation quality and value has plummeted quite a bit while the price of the box has gone up from $5 to $7 and now $10. At this price I would much rather go with ipsy or allure.

Maya

I always regret not getting this box even if I can’t use all the products. Especially after I read the great reviews. I also usually regret not getting two boxes when I only get one. For ten $$ I got one this time. Oh no! I think I’m convincing myself to get another one! ?

My Grande primer from a previous Allure box has become one of new favorites. But, I need a cheaper alternative. I’ve heard good things about the L’Oreal primer so I’m very excited to see this in the Target box. I’m always happy to try new things (Andalou and W3LL People) and whatever I don’t want or can’t use gets passed on to other family members.

Reply ButtonReply

Larlink

Easy pass for me….I’d only end up using the sheet mask and eye liner. Although, I do like W3ll People products I currently own 3 other glow sticks thanks to Birchbox! Not to mention I’d rather have a stick application over a pot. Also, this box doesn’t even come close to Targets $10.00 boxes of the past.

Used my redcard so this box was only $9.50 🙂 excited to try the cream and mask!

Amanda

Mine was $10.28 with tax.

Andalou and W3LL People, YES! But L’Oreal and Revlon, NO! Goal is to move toward cruelty free in 2017, and L’Oreal and Revlon are known and long-time animal testers. I believe Laneige is too. Even if they proclaim they only test where required by law (often meaning they choose to sell in China, so are required to animal test), they could make a conscious decision not to do so. I’d love to see more brands like Andalou and W3LL People (and Pacifica, Nourish Organics, etc.) in these boxes.

I also agree with people commenting about too many black eyeliners, when I prefer brown or deep purple. When you get a bit older, black eyeliner can often look harsh and messy rather than chic and sleek. Mascara primer adds another step I don’t have time for in the mornings. Hoping for next time, although I have to say I was tempted by the Andalou and W3LL People products… Maybe I’ll just save the money and purchase those brands on their own.

Reply ButtonReply

Deionna

I feel the same way about animal testing. I quit selling Avon because they sell in China and therefore are not completely cruelty free.

Reply ButtonReply

Judi

Agree with everything here. I also recently went cruelty-free, which has the added benefit of having to actually look at the products before automatically hitting “purchase”!

Is it just me, or are these boxes getting more expensive and less interesting. I am also p.o.’d that I didn’t get a notification for the baby box last month. I really wanted to pick one of those up :/

Same, same & same.

This month is another pass for me as well.

Skipped last month’s box, but grabbed two of these! 😀

I’m a sucker for masks of any kind and I’m almost out of lash primer. Any moisture-rich conditioner is always a win for me (even if it is a foil pack). Really looking forward to trying W3LL and 1000 roses.

I’m pretty excited about this one! Thanks Liz! 🙂

I bought several of these (3 in October, 2 this month and hopefully a few of the December box when they become available). I’ve used the included $3 coupons in store and stacked them with the frequent promo of a free $5 gift Target gift card with a health and beauty purchase throughout the year and other common items (laundry detergent).

With the acquired group of free $5 Target gifts I’ve purchased $10 Starbucks gift cards and plan to tuck them in the beauty box and gift them as teacher’s gifts this year.

My last box didn’t have the coupon :/

You reminded me that mine didn’t, either. Target CS sent me a $5 gift card.

Maya

Great idea!

Thanks for posting Liz! I can’t believe that it didn’t even occur to me that this box could go on sale today!

I’ll use everything in this box, except for the eyeliner & brightener. But, I’m happy to see Target now sells W3LL! I didn’t even know they sold that brand. I’m also really excited to see the L’Oreal primer in the box. I’m actually using that right now with the L’Oreal Voluminous mascara. I really like the primer, and if I ever finally finish going through all of the primers I’ve received in boxes, GWP, beauty deals, etc., this will now be my go-to primer. Clinique’s Lash Building Primer was my original HG, but I think L’Oreal’s works just as good, and it’s so much cheaper. I just wish other drugstore brands would come out with stand alone primers too! (I see some that are connected to mascaras, but I want a primer on its own.)

Reply ButtonReply

Wendy

Thanks for the info on the primer Luna! I’ve been using Lancôme primer & mascara for years, but thanks to Liz’ recommendation, I switched to Tarte mascara (love it!). If the L’Oréal primer works well, I’ll be super happy as it is so much cheaper.

I’ve skipped the past few but this one actually works for me, except for the eyeliner, assuming it’s black – but just one item I can’t use is unusual. I have fine, thin hair so the shampoo is good for me, the hair mask might make my hair too soft but I’ll try it, the mascara primer is MUCH more useful than another black mascara, and the brightener and skin care products are good. The Andalou day cream will probably go in my travel bag.

Reply ButtonReply

Ann

I have thin fine hair too. Try using the mask before shampooing instead of after.

Reply ButtonReply

…and may I add, delighted to get a box without a lipstick in a color that’s totally useless to me

Reply ButtonReply

Christi

Amen to that!! Lol

Skipping this month. Nothing that I really want to try except the sheet mask.

Christine

It worth $10 , ipsy same price and more samples .
