Hey My name’s Veronica and I am addicted to subscription boxes. I have more mascara , dry shampoo, fingernail polish, hair masque ,makeup primer, etc than I can use in a year. I can’t/won’t cancel them. WHYYYYYY? Anyway I’m on the fence about cancelling the Allure beauty box and try Scentbird. I already get Birchbox, Beauty fix , Play by Sephora, Target beauty box, Wal-Mart beauty box, I think that’s all . I use to get Glossybox but I wasn’t impressed at all by their boxes.Does anyone get Scentbird and if so do you like it?

Veronica

Hello my name is also Veronica and your post sounds like I wrote it 🙂

Heidi

I havnt tried scentbird, but I have 1 perfume I like, and not much for changing it. But my mother in law gets it, and she seems to like it, and she said it was nice that she is able to choose what scents to try. Plus she keeps some as gifts for others. But I get ipsy, allure, birchbox, julep, walmart, and traget. I tried glossybox and didn’t care for it. I also get fabfitfun and I love it. My favorite sub is ipsy. But go for the scentbird in my mind any sub box you think you might like and give it a try. And if you don’t like it cancel.

Veronica

Thank you Heidi , I cancelled Allure for now and I’m going to subscribe to Scentbird. I one of those people who put perfume on just to go to bed. So I think I will enjoy this subscription and if not I will cancel it.

Colleen

Hi Veronica,,
I subscribe to Scentbird and have received I think 9 months. They’re pretty awesome. You can pick your scents, rearrange the order of scents you want, or receive the scent of the month. I haven’t had any issues with damage, they ship in great packaging. I’m not that crazy about the case you put the replacements in, but if you order extra cases and aren’t changing it out that often, it might last longer. I’d give them a try, the size of sample is about 60 sprays I think… a good way to try a scent or, as I’ve done, order a scent you own and love so you have a travel size for your purse.
Let me know if you have any other specific questions. ☺️

Veronica

Colleen thank you so much for your advice on Scentbird. I’m sold . I love perfume and
I think it’s a brilliant idea to have a nice size sample to try , especially the more expensive ones.

Krista

If I signed up today, would I get the October box or have to wait and get the November box??

Reply ButtonReply

K

When i signed up I had to wait 2 months for my first box, however another friend that signed up got her first box right away.. its a hit or miss

Jessicups

Honestly, there is never any way to know for sure. I’ve read plenty of people say they were promised this months box but end up waiting for the next months. You can always call in and ask, but I would never bank on it 100%. Kind of the trade in for the great box.

Damn! That hair thing is coming in my Boxycharm box. Ugh

Reply ButtonReply

MzBev

This is a mask. Boxy’s item is a heat protectant. Same brand, different item! 🙂

Reply ButtonReply

Nan

Yes they are differentand, by the way, Boxy’s is a lot bigger.

Kate

Tatcha has a sample deal on their website right now, it’s a 7 day trial of both the cleansing oil and the rice enzyme powder for 10$, free shipping. You get 7 packets of each. You also get to pick 3 samples to go along with it. I think you need to sign up for their emails first for it to work. https://www.tatcha.com/get-tatcha/7-day-journey-1

I havnt even been charged yet for October’s box, am I the only 1 who hasn’t been charged yet.

Reply ButtonReply

Kathy Cummings

I haven’t been charged yet. Or gotten my box yet.

Donna H

I just called and was told that boxes are going to ship out the third week of the month with charges to our accounts done this week. He confirmed that my account, for example, is going to be charged either tomorrow or Friday. Hard to wait for out boxes, especially since we have gotten used to them coming earlier in the month…. I am sure it will be worth the wait.

Paola

They charged me on the 7th .. they usually charge me in the 3rd. every month.

Reply ButtonReply

Becca

Allure told me yesterday they would not be charging until the third or fourth week of october for this months box.

Reply ButtonReply

Val

I was charged for October’s box on the 10th

Alyce

Good to know. I haven’t been charged and thought somehow I would be skipped or not receiving a box.

Rosamunde

Hi. I had items missing from Sept’s box. Contacted them via email & they said they’d send replacements. Nothing yet. I know lots of people had missing items, can anyone tell me if they’ve received replacements yet? From comments last month, I know not to hold my breath. Thx!

Reply ButtonReply

Raeline Peterson

I didnt get the setting mist last month and it just came like a week ago.

Reply ButtonReply

Jenna

Same thing here… Broken Kardashian bronzer and no shampoo. I was told I’d get replacements and they never arrived. So either they have a very poor system for managing replacements and complaints, or their customer service people were promising things they can’t deliver on.
I’ve stuck with this box because of the value and curation, but customer service is important and it’s SEVERELY lacking. 🙁

Reply ButtonReply

nikki

I got replacements for the broken bronzer!
They also sent me three bonus items for signing up (when they promised i’d get the may box and I didnt). Their customer service has been great to me. I did cancel though.

Amber P

I never got replacements for my May (maybe June) box. My Kardashian bronzer was broken and I expressed disappointment in getting a dry shampoo instead of actual shampoo (that was the start of the shady variations). Was told I’d get the shampoo and had to pick something else for the bronzer because they didn’t have anymore. Never arrived.

I know some people have had success with getting their replacements, but I feel like those people are few and far between.

Reply ButtonReply

Mandi

I was missing 2 items also and was told it would take 2-4 weeks to be sent out. I chatted last week about the new box and asked, they told me that the replacements had been sent out and that I should get them by Friday the 7th. Well I still haven’t got them. LOL I don’t think we should hold our breath.

JenJ

I got a replacement for the missing Cargo liner last week.

Karen

I also received a broken Kardashian bronzer, and after notifying them, I was told they would be sending me a replacement. Never received it. Disappointed in their customer service.

mmore88

I am so excited for the limited edition spongelle in freesia/pear! I will gladly purchase anyones box off them or swap products for this one item!!!

Jodi

At this rate, it’ll be mid November by the time we receive this box ?

Reply ButtonReply

Nan

I just got mine today! I think it was worth the wait.

Reply ButtonReply

Toni

I got mine on Friday and it was definitely worth the wait

JenJ

I think this may be my last Allure. This was the only beauty sub I’ve kept. This is the third time I’ve gotten this same Briogeo product. I have not bought mascara in over a year, and have enough for the next three years. That’s with giving some away. I can’t use dry shampoo. I’m hoping for the volumizer. I have given so many dry shampoos away. I already got the Klorane from Allure as a substitute product, so hoping I won’t get it again. I hope Allure can improve.

Reply ButtonReply

Maria

That Briogeo item has been in every box now over the last 6 months and it is awful for my hair(fine and thick….it makes it brittle) I cancelled Walmart, Birchbox and Sephora and this one may go next. Even my Ipsy was stinky this month and I never complain about Ipsy.

Reply ButtonReply

Luna

I also don’t use dry shampoo, and I just gave away nine minis and one full-sized dry shampoo to a co-worker as part of her bridal shower gift (she’s super obsessed with dry shampoos). I also have a few on reserve for another friend who likes only specific brands. And I only get dry shampoos in sub boxes or GWPs. I’m sure chances are I’ll be getting a dry shampoo in this box, and I know I’ll be getting a 2nd dry shampoo this month from Birchbox (I received two dry shampoos from BB in September too).

Reply ButtonReply

Katherine

Dry shampoos are great to gift to women’s shelters! 🙂

Rookala

The only things I’m remotely even interested in are the Tatcha sample (of whichever one I receive) and the Spongelle. Last month’s Allure was a real bomb for me too. Not excited AT ALL about yet another mascara and any danged dry shampoo – no matter who the manufacturers are.

Reply ButtonReply

AngieA

I’m keepin toes and fingers crossed for the Kevin Murphy and I will be happy with either Tatcha sample.

Reply ButtonReply

Toni

Has anyone been charged yet? I wish they would just take their payment because this is really messing with my bank account since I manage everything with two checks a month

Danielle

I just re-subbed to this after seeing the spoilers. Any idea if this box is still avail?? I really hope so!

Reply ButtonReply

Liz Cadman

I confirmed with Allure, if you sign up today, you should definitely get the October box. Depending on inventory, your first box may be the September box. Hope that helps.

Reply ButtonReply

Danielle

Yes, either scenario works for me! Just as long as I get the Oct. Box, I wouldn’t mind the Sept. Box as well. Thanks so much for looking into it!

Jenny

Has anyone been charged for their box yet? I’ve yet to see a charge…

Reply ButtonReply

Kate

I did, on 10/7, but only for one of my boxes, not both. Usually they charge at the same time, so no idea what is going on. No shipping notice or anything.

Reply ButtonReply

Jenny

Thank you! I guess I’ll keep waiting “patiently” lol.

AmyM

I had planned to cancel after last month, which was, for me, a bad box. But I never got around to it and gosh darn it if not completely smitten with Spongelle’ now thanks to Fab Fit Fun, so I’m glad I mistakenly stuck around.

Reply ButtonReply

Luminoussoul

I am in love with spongelle! I hope they become a beauty box trend so I keep getting them. My skin has never been softer and I adore the rose scent of the Fab fit fun version, that little sponge makes my whole bathroom smell good.

Reply ButtonReply

Colleen

I’ve never tried spongelle, do they last awhile? I’m excited to get mine.

Reply ButtonReply

Claudia

Spongelles are great provided you like the scent. They’re definitely not for people who are sensitive to strong smells. I’ve already been through three which I received/swapped for from the PSMH boxes and I think the suds lasted for a few weeks. I always made sure mine was throughly rung out, clean, and sometimes even hung somewhere other than within the shower. I have one type that (I have the memory of a flea these days) has a buffing bag around it and that one is durable and reusable. Once the suds ran out I just added my own and it is a fantastic scrubby! The one in this box should last at least a month maybe longer.

As for the rest of the items … I don’t find anything that exciting and at this point I have so many sample size items floating around my bag, bathroom, care and bedroom that I feel like I don’t get a chance to really try anything long enough to determine what I like. I really think it’s time to drop Allure but I’ve been saying that for six months. I think I need professional help here …

Jenny

I’ve used mine about 2-3 times a week since I received my FFF box in September. It’s still “potent”. I think they are good for 20-30 uses!

Colleen

While this might not be Allures most exciting box, I’ll use everything except the eyeshadow and dry shampoo. I’m hoping for the volumizer instead. Happy to finally try the spongelle as I haven’t been able to swap for one yet and this scent sounds even better than the rose to me. I’ve been on the fence about this sub, but hopefully they’re changing their ways and going to actually honor their spoilers. And at least this month the variations seem to be close in value. Looking forward to reading comments as we receive the boxes.

Janie

I am ridiculously excited for this box. I signed back up for Allure about a week ago after the Spongelle spoiler but was afraid I wouldn’t get this box. After a webchat with their customer service they confirmed I would be receiving it. So happy! The Tatcha and Mally are just icing on the cake for me!

Reply ButtonReply

Rosamunde

Hi Janie,
I did the exact same thing, re-Subing last week after seeing spoiler. Have you been charged yet? I still haven’t, and previously they’ve charge me on the 2nd or 3rd of the month, so was wondering. Thx!

Reply ButtonReply

Samantha

Not excited about this box. Glad I cancelled last week.
