POPSUGAR Must Have Box August 2016 Billing/Shipping Update

Due to a product delivery delay, the August 2016 POPSUGAR Must Have Box will be shipping later than other boxes (approx. August 20th), so billing will be happening later as well (August 8th).

  1. First, let me disclose that my subscription is a gift from my father— he’s in his 70s and got this for me so he doesn’t stress about remembering to buy me gifts for birthdays and holidays (we live across the country) so I probably have lower expectations than I would if I paif for it myself.

    That said, I’m a frivolous person in the sense that i LOVED the blow up swan. I don’t even have a real pool but it made backyard parties and picnics way more fun. I was really sad when we forgot to take it in one night and a neighbor cat tore it to shreds. 🙁

    I don’t subscribe to other boxes so I love how it’s different things each month and the only time I was truly disappointed was December. I regifted that entire box.

  2. Tried this out for a few months and was so disappointed. Canceled after July. It seems like older boxes were great but the items are just dumb. Cocktail napkins and a blow up toy? Really? I want practical items that I will use everyday. Or Ana amazing wow item that I would never buy myself but would love. Haven’t had that except in two of my mystery boxes. And those were old items I new I would love to have.

  3. I’m really debating on subscribing or not. I just want a spoiler cuz the past few boxes aren’t my taste. this delay gives me more time to think about it.

  4. I just wanted to share that I received great customer service from popsugar today. After I was unhappy about the communication, they completely redeemed themselves. Thanks popsugar!

    • I have also had only good experiences with Popsugar customer service. The candle in my mystery box was broken, and they quickly replied to my request for a replacement, and then I received another in record time. I have always received prompt and courteous replies to any effort I’ve made to reach out to them.
      I do feel that they just don’t have a good system of running a business. When I first subscribed, I had to nudge them to get my first box. The delays happening every few months and boxes missing items is just not good business practice.
      Having said that, I have had the same issues with other subs, as in when I subscribe, there is nothing that comes telling me for sure when I would receive my first box, etc. I have had to “nudge” other sub companies as well to get the ball rolling.

  6. Did anyone here purchase one of the boxes offered on GiltCity last week? They sent me my voucher which I turned in on the 25th and I haven’t heard anything from PS since (just an order confirmation) – I can’t find a place on the PS site to check on the order status.


    • I ordered the CFDA box and it is in route. According to tracking anyways. It was sent the following day after I ordered.

    • I ordered the June and July box and I haven’t heard anything either. When I log into my account and look at the order it says: Tracking: Processing. So I’m guessing it hasn’t even shipped yet.

      • OK thanks – I ordered the June box so I won’t panic yet knowing I’m not alone!

        • Same here. I ordered June and July and the status says “processing”. I hope they get it shipped soon! But it sounds like they’ve got other shipping issues with the August box.

  7. I’ve had this box for almost a year now, I resubscribed for six months in June and got double June and July boxes instead of them just tacking them on. I wish that I wouldn’t have resubscribed, this box is just not to my personal taste – January and Feb. were great boxes but this company has gone way downhill. I’m not a happy customer and I wont be resubscribing again, and now with the boxes late I feel let down again.

  8. I respect them more for sending this. I haven’t been pleased with PopSugar lately on a lot of fronts (products in boxes and customer service being the main ones). But this isn’t their fault so I’m just glad they are owning it and telling us what’s going on instead of hoping we don’t notice.

    That said – I want a spoiler!!!

  9. I cancelled, but I really great spoiler *could* change my mind. COME ON POPSUGARRRRR.

      I haven’t had a Popsugar box since May and honestly don’t feel that I’ve missed a thing.
      This was my favourite sub for a long time. I wish they’d hurry up and tempt me back.

  10. Since making us wait they should add a little something extra or the items must REALLY be great and worth our while! I been frustrated lately! I hope things improve.

    • “Making us wait”? This is outside their control if there is a vendor shipment delay. I don’t think every time something happens (esp when it’s not avoidable) that people should expect a freebie. I’m glad they let us know upfront versus just making excuses AFTER the fact.

  11. I cancelled my long-time account after the awful July box, but also received this e-mail. Head’s up to anyone else that might be in the same boat as me. My account says CANCELLED on their site. I sent an e-mail into Customer Service to confirm, but I’m not surprised they messed up their mass e-mail list and sent to non-subscribers as well.

    • They might have done it on purpose to let people know there was longer to order/cancel/change info. But they should have versioned for each situation if they meant to do that.

      Also – their email list provider might not update that quickly (I know sometimes it takes a few weeks for that to happen).
