This was my first order from Julep, and I got the Mystery glitters: Pepper, Neely, Queen Anne, Oscar, Judy, Roxanne & Trish. Most of them look great, will have to try! I also ordered Tali as my free gift.

HOWEVER: I don’t like it when a company does not deliver as promised. The ad clearly says it will be over $100 value of nail polish. The 7 bottles = $98. The decals they threw in are not nail polish.

I called them, and they said, it’s a misunderstanding. I said, you mean your ad is wrong. She said no, the ad isn’t wrong it’s a misunderstanding. Ah, I understand now. 🙂

I will pursue this by email. They have an excellent reputation, so we should be able to resolve this.

I hate to say it, but I think you are correct. The nail decals are technically not polish. They should have said “nail product” or something like that. Good luck, because I think they really messed up with their advertising blurb.
However, to Julep’s credit, they normally make things right when they make mistakes. I would recommend calling again until you resolve this issue. I have encountered both the best and the most-average customer service reps at Julep (and when I say “the best”, I really mean it). You may have ended up with one of the (very few) “meh” representatives when they are having a bad day.
I let them know that many customers, including myself, were upset about their previous Mystery Box advertising (no lip oil when there was one in the promotional photo). They need to be more accountable for their advertising.
All that said, I do like Julep, and will continue to subscribe to their Maven program (albeit with caution, as they have gradually been reducing what you can select with that program).

Thanks for your feedback. I’m far from a nail expert, but yeah, the ad, and decals don’t look so great on top of glitter anyway… 🙂

And still new to boxes in general. I think I may sign up as a maven, as they have great stuff, but want to get this straightened out.

Wendy

Just got the metallic mystery box and used the code for a free additional polish. Hoping everyone who already got any of thes boxes would post photos!

Can we post photos? I’d love that.

My Brights box has 7 polishes: Jenna, Connie, Ari, Sam, Lee Danica, and Suzanne. Ari, Lee, and Jenna are very similar colors, but different formulas, maybe.

Wendy

Was hoping it was at least 8 polishes per box but 7 is still an amazing deal for $20.

Linda

Mine already shipped. It says it will be here Tuesday. I ordered the brights box.

I actually got my box on Saturday. My polishes were the same as above. I had added on Paulina and the mystery nude for free with code. The mystery nude is Whitney, which I really like. My favorite from the brights is Danica. It is a pretty blue leaning purple with a shimmer. Overall very pleased, my only complaint is there are 3 reds. They are all different, but would have been nice to have at least one more color. Ther was also a strip of stickers to make the box worth 100.00 I guess. Does anyone know what polishes were in the metallic box?

My metallics box: Penny, Rachael, Marika, Sawyer, Joss, Missy and Mia.

So far I am still holding out, though I have the glitters in my cart with an almost free polish remover. I looked through my collection which Includes several Julep polishes still new in box. I threw out a couple that were dried out and revived one of my favorite rainbow honey glitters for a pedicure. I don’t need more polish. I have to remind myself that Black Friday/Cyber Monday are coming soon.

This is dangerous. I’m holding on to a $50 code Julep sent for the delay of the sunscreen. Almost thinking I *need* all three.

Will these mystery boxes definitely be just polishes? Or possibly polishes plus other makeup/beauty products?

IronChefLo

Naw, this is straight up polish. I got it last time around…I think it 8 in total. Sometimes they offer a mixed bag, with makeup included, but this is not one of them. That being said, it’s a great deal!

Marina

All of their other boxes have had some polish + some beauty so I hope it’s the same for this.
Looking at it I see them as themes for the polish that’s included, at least that’s what I am thinking.

Do you have to be a Julep subscriber to get their Mystery boxes? Or is this a one time charge, like other subs who do mystery boxes?

Reply ButtonReply

Kimberly P.

I have gotten several of the Julep Mystery boxes/bags – it’s one-time. You do not have to be a Julep Maven.

MzBev

Great. Thank you for responding!

Danielle

I went for the glitters/shimmers box and I added Stephanie to use the free polish code. I kind of want the brights box, too, but I’m trying to resist.

Just gave in! My first mystery box! Though the July 10 code doesn’t work anymore. I even tried August 10, still no luck… oh well.

Reply ButtonReply

tpop

It didn’t work for me. Maybe you have to be a Maven to use it? The Summercolor code did work, but didn’t take the entire price of a polish off, only $11.20 of the $14.

Elizabeth

Same thing happened to me.

Kimberly P.

You have to add items that is not the mystery box and not the Sweet Steal, before you add the coupon.

Reply ButtonReply

Carmen

I just used the code a minute ago, its still working.

Reply ButtonReply

Marissa

I needed a new black polish so I added the free polish code 🙂 got brights and Johnny Black Polish for under $22 (CA sales tax)! ~9 polishes at $22 totally works for me! Especially when I know I will love/need at least one of them

Carolann

I’m eyeing the Glitter and Brights sets. Hmm…

Angie B.

Thanks for the coupon codes! I ended up ordering the brights and glitter polish boxes separately so I could use each code 1 time. I usually have decent luck with these mystery polish boxes (the polish makeup mystery boxes are another story, lol).

The extra polishes I got were Aquarius (soooooo pretty and a duo-chrome) and Aubrey, as I have a new baby niece with that name and I got her older sister her Julep polish, so I thought it would be nice to get one for the baby and she can wear it when she’s old enough. 🙂

Both codes worked perfectly for me when I put the extra nail polish in my cart ahead of time! Cheers!

I went conservative and ONLY ordered the glitter box. 😛

Dee

How many do you think is in each box. If looking at $11 a bottle maybe 9?

Reply ButtonReply

SSM

At least with the Brights box, I see 8 different shades. I’d be willing to bet those are the 8 we’ll get.

Reply ButtonReply

BlackWeezle

Sorry…do not assume you are getting anything in the picture (the false advertising debacle with the Brika bag proved this). While I don’t need more polish, this is an incredible deal. However, I am addicted to Julep, and I have a $50 coupon. I could get all three boxes for $10!!! My only beef with the mystery boxes is that they seem to be a way that Julep can dump the colors that simply aren’t selling. Also, I am curious…has Julep always tended toward conservative colors? All of their lippies are devoid of shimmer and sparkle, and even their duo-chrome polishes fall a bit flat in comparison to many other brands (this doesn’t stop me from loving the Julep duo-chromes that I do have). I am just curious…you’d think that they would try to give everyone something to lust after.

Ali

The retail on each bottle is $14, so probably 8 bottles? 7 bottles would be $98 so not hitting the $100 claim.

Reply ButtonReply

Dee

Was thinking the Maven prices 🙂 It’s SO hard, I want this cause I am addicted, but end up with repeats but for the price arg lol So hard!!!

Kimberly P

I was guessing 8 at $14 a bottle. Even that is $2.50 per!

Reply ButtonReply

Angie B.

I figured at least 7, as it says valued over $100 and $100/$14(full price per bottle)=7.13. That’s $3/bottle for the $20 box price tag. Totally worth it for me, even if I end up giving away a few and/or have duplicates. 🙂

I almost always go for these. But I just hung a 6th nail polish rack in my closet (they hold 60+ bottles each…) and I am out of wall space. Plus, based on the photos, I likely have most of the colors. So I shouldn’t…

Reply ButtonReply

BlackWeezle

There is no such thing as “shouldn’t” in the Julep dictionary.

Reply ButtonReply

Ragan

Haha, no kidding. I broke down and ordered two of them…

Wendy

I’m trying to figure out how to store my 100+ nail polish bottles. I love your polish rack solution! Where do you buy your racks? Are they made for nail polish?

Jennifer

Ragan

This is what I have:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005XAUHEQ/

I’ve gotten six of these. One came broken but the returns process was pretty simple. The rest have been fine. Picture nails seem sufficient to keep them hanging on the wall, even when completely full.

Jennifer

I need to run upstairs and look at my hundreds of polishes before I cave! I might cave…
