Check your emails I just got one that said the lip butters are running late so my box will too

If anyone was interested, Julep has reduced the maximum value of the Maven Luxe by another $15 this month. That makes a reduction of almost $40 over the past two months.
I do not recommend the Maven Luxe subscription anymore. Just stick with the normal Maven subscription…it’s a better value now

This is my first month with Julep Maven. I had edited my monthly box…no joke…like 15 times already. Is this typical?! Everything looks so awesome. I fear I am going to get into trouble with this subscription! 🙂

This is my first month too!
I actually signed up May 23rd because I didn’t realize the 20th was the cut off so I missed that one, but I did get a free gift with my sign up that included 3 nail polishes and a teal gel pencil eye liner-so that made up for the wait!
Now that I actually get to pick what’s in my box I have no idea what to do lol
I went through the store and wrote down all the items I liked to keep an eye out for in the box choices.
I ended up picking the body/face scrub and the night face mask, so I couldn’t get a 3rd item.
I’m wondering if I should switch the night mask out so I can get two smaller items instead though :/
I really wanted a nice dark red or black polish but none of the box options were what I wanted 🙁
Otherwise I would add just add them on.
So excited to join!

Correction
I went back and got 3 add-ons
Eunice Ultramarine Blue Shimmer
July Birthstone Ruby
And Taurus(my boyfriend’s sign?) Zodiac Lilac
Janel O'Farrell
Yes m it is pretty normal to decide on one thing and then go back and change it. Have some fun and let all know what you decided on. I was going to get the Polish upgrade, but I didn’t know exactly how that worked? So …..I pretty much love all the polishes except one!!

You just select it and confirm. Though, your credit card on file (to which your subscription gets charged) will be charged for the price difference.

Sometimes that happens with me, sometimes not. I am finally at the stage where I can *usually* make myself stop at 3 polishes since I have so many already. But there are months when I want so much stuff it is better to just get the whole thing.
Another thing to consider is that some of the polishes from the month are available as add-ons in sets, where you may get a little better price. So it is worth adding stuff to fill your box, then looking at the add-on screen before committing to anything.

I experimented with mixing up my box and various add-ons. I ended up requesting a lip butter and a Skip the Brush, Creme-to-Powder blush stick and I’m adding on a jelly polish set, plus two other polishes I liked and will be getting a free gift. I used a code to get my first box free so with my add-ons, I’m only spending around $22 so it sounds like a good deal to me.
I feel certain that before the year is out, I will end up buying the whole shebang (at least once). I should be earning a decent amount of points with this order and those will be great to cash in later!
L
It is taking all the will power I have to not buy the whole shebang. I do not need that many lip butters.

I want to get one of their bronzers but I’m can’t find any swatches for the “medium tan” shade. Does anyone know if the bronzer is glittery, or if it’s super sheer, or super pigmented. I have light/medium skin and I can’t tell if the lighter one will be my skin tone or if the darker bronzer will be dark. It’s driving me crazy to find swatches! Please and thanks for anyone’s input!

Need help please gals!! Long time Julep Mavens!! I just started last month, the thing that caught my eye was actually the Plie of all things, I alrdy had a polish collection of 250ish or so.. but i became sick and shake to the point I couldn’t paint my nails or toes…
But with the Plie I can without looking like I was fingerpainting lol..
So my first box and add ons just happened to be in the grey/purple/blue range… i was looking for some summer colors pinks, oranges, yellows, teals, etc… but seems everything I see got bad reviews (formula is important to me, since I still shake, so it’s important it’s not TOOOO difficult)
Any suggestions for pretty summer colors with a pretty good formula?
Thanks!
Xoxo

The holographic ones are great and don’t show lines really ( also pretty much anything shimmery or sparkly) But the crème ones in lighter shades are kinda difficult. The Cassidy on my toes right now is a crème tourquoise however and had no problems with it and it is beautiful.

The stardust finish ones don’t show errors either. Like if you need to fix them in the middle of a week, you can just slap on some polish over the edges and it’s really hard to see the fixes.
KHALEESI
The new lip sticks are very tempting, but I got the best ever lipstick in the Popsugar Mini already 🙂

I’m getting the glow highlighting powder, it’s the only thing I kept from what they picked for me, really hoping it’s nice and will look good on me as I haven’t even looked up reviewd. I got Tomi and Fleur as my other two items. For add on I picked the mystery trio, excited to see what I get! Also picked Eunice and Hazel, so will be getting the gift with purchase for 3 addons. Also, last month I ordered addons and didn’t get the usual candy that comes with the box. Is that not an every month thing? Or you don’t get one with addons or did mine just get forgotten?

I imagine they just missed your box. It was Necco wafers (shudder). The only thing worse would be circus peanuts.

Jennifer
I must be one in a few, I liked the Necco wafers and I love Circus Peanuts and the Bunnies that come out at Easter!!!
Anna
I love the polish and etc., though. I just don’t understand the Necco appeal 😉

I guess I am in the minority because I want the whole shebang this month! Never thought I would do that, but the value is amazing and I’m loving the mix of bright and deep colors. Plus have to add-on the Cancer zodiac polish this month. Good thing it’s my birthday this month or I could not justify the splurge!

Work in a professional office and can’t do the louder very colorful colors. Still the colors are really pretty. Would have bought a lot of them if I was in an environment where I could wear those bright colors and didn’t need to change them the next day.

I work in a law office and I totally wear blues, greens, purples, etc. on my nails, plus fuchsia lipstick, etc…
Jennifer
I am also going for the WHOLE SHEBANG this month also. I never do that either, but it really is a great deal!!! Loving all products offered this month!

They have wonderful deals and lovely colors. I skipped because I have been a longtime subscriber and have more nail polish than I know what to do with. But I do like many of their beauty products, so I haven’t canceled yet. But my addiction to polish started with Julep.
I don’t think you can go wrong with a Julep splurge. You get a lot for your money.

I also got the entire collection this month as well as two of the zodiac polishes because that collection is amazing. I’ve skipped the last two months because the last two collections just didn’t do anything for me. Now Julep has a collection that finally caught my eye, plus I need new lipwear too. So ended up getting the whole thing. Looking forward to receiving it!

When you sign up for 3 or 6 month subscriptions, do you get charged all at once or still charged monthly but at the discounted price? Thanks ladies!

Jennifer
You get charged upfront.

I do the three-month sub, and it charges me all at once.

I’m trying 2 of the lip butters! I didn’t add any more on to my box, but I liked that they were only $9.99 if you wanted to. If I like the formula & they’re offered at the same add-on price next month, I’ll definitely buy more.

This is my first time as a Maven – I was REALLY excited to see all of the items you could swap out for! I’ve got about 80 Julep polishes so while I love them, I wasn’t really digging the colors for this month. I ended up with the blue (Eunice), a fan brush which I’ve been desperately needing and the cuticle softener because I’ve heard on here that it’s amazing.
It’s funny because I didn’t add on a lip item because I was afraid of the colors being too bold. I’m too prude when it comes to lip color, haha

You can change your entire order, completely, till the 24th. So if you change your mind you can choose a lippie

They are sheer, so now would be a good time to experiment! 🙂

If I’m new, am I able to pick the products?

You have to sign up before the 20th or else you have to wait until the next month to get your box
I signed up May 23rd and was really bummed I didn’t get to pick a box right away since it wasn’t the 24th yet 🙁
I got a free gift with my sign up though and that delivered right away so it made up for the wait.
But now my wait is finally over!

I ended up with all the polishes except the yellow one and the dark purplish lip color. Even if it’s sheer, I figure I can wear it over another color for the SPF.

I was excited for the lip color until I looked at the pictures of people wearing it. It hardly looked like there was any pigment to the stuff at all (especially on the photos of the woman with a light skin tone that matches mine most closely of those shown). I am not really into sheer lip tints. So I went with three polishes (dark blue, light purple, black with glitter).
WOW, Julep has always had nicely pigmented lip colors. Did you know that these have the spf 30 in them? IT is a lip butter, they sound wonderful!!
Reply
Ragan
No, these definitely don’t have much pigment if you look at the pictures of people actually wearing them. Plus, it’s all chemical sunscreen ingredients. I can’t use those on my lips, they will basically destroy my skin (been there, done that with other SPF lip products) — I will have cracked, peeling lips for weeks. Not worth it for me at all.
Hufsa
Where did you see people wearing the new lip colors? I’m excited about them, too, but also worried they may not have pigment. I have two Julep subscriptions for this month, so if these new colors are not pigmented, I’d rather swatch them out for the It’s Whipped or Light on Your Lips lip colors.

Melissa
Actually, if you click on the link above that says Julep Maven, it takes you to Juleps’ blog, and you can see swatches of all the lip and nail colors right there.
Ragan
If you go to edit your box and delete at least one item and then click on the picture of an item below (don’t click “swap in”) you will see people with different skin colors wearing the lip products.
Mallory
I’m just so excited because this is my first Maven box and the Classic with a Twist box that was selected for me has a new ‘Mallory’ polish! I’m probably going to add on some of the other polishes as well 🙂

I’m not able to access my account… it logs me in, but when I click “edit my box” it gives me a “error in processing your request” and a page of computer language I don’t understand 🙁

I am loving the black glitter polish! Though I have hundreds of polishes, I will probably get that one, and I might either get a lip butter or some other things I am needing by customizing.
