I bought May for Mahalo and the minimum was 3 months. This month is a big disappointment for me. The last thing on earth that i need is more mineral makeup. And what is the hero item? I can get all this from elf for <20$. They said the 3 month minimum was so they can offer better things, this is not it.

I opted out of receiving the box this month as most make up is a miss for me. I had alerted them (when they announced their foray into make up) that I was disappointed they were going to start doing make up. They simply put me on a list of those who didn’t want make up. I received an email before payment and was given the option of skipping the month which I did. They also are great if you advise them of ingredient allergies.
The customer service for this company is fantastic!

I have subbed for a year and this is the first miss for me. Not bad in a year with Josh Rosebrook, Osmia, Vintner’s Daughter, Mahalo, Skin Owl and Beauty Counter! It isn’t even a bad box, just not as awesome as usual.

Makeup is such a personal item to select and I don’t use highlighters, so this box was a fail for me. The last two boxes have been wonderful, but this one makes me want to cancel my membership.

Last month I tried to sign up but the May box (which was amazing) had sold out, and I decided to wait since you can’t sign up for just one month. I’m glad I waited now instead of committing for 3 months because I had thought they were more skincare focused. I have no interest in makeup, and I don’t feel this really meets their stated guidelines of one “hero” product. I just heard about them last month, but I read the past reviews and all those boxes seemed amazing. I just wouldn’t want to be surprised by makeup again.

From what I understand, this is their first and last monthly box devoted to makeup. I heard they may do special “seasonal” makeup boxes, but they would be separate, optional purchases from the monthly BH box. Don’t let this month put you off… this is a great subscription box with fantastic customer service. I’ve found it to be nothing but a pleasure.
