I’d be interested in this if I hadn’t just bought two tubes of Honest Company SPF 50 at Costco. Normally the 3 oz tube retails for $13.95 each but got two tubes for $10.99 on sale. (Costco regular price for two tubes is $13.99) It’s like BOGO free and save another $3 while you’re at it!

I have some bb cream and some foundation samples that are too dark. I’ll try mixing with the sunblock to counter some of the whiteness of the physical sunblock.

Just a note on the free gift with purchase coupons that Liz mentioned: I’ve used the code for the Sage & Row Bare Shave Cream and received a FULL SIZE product ($17 value!).

As a fellow birchbox subscriber, I can tell you that I received the MD Solar(excellent product – I have dry acne prone skin and is does not irritate me at all) and the coola(yawn, just okay) samples nearly empty on several recent boxes. If these are the same sample batches–then this is not worth your money. I eeked three days of sunscreen out of each tube. The GOOP under eye sunscreen is great and I have been using it for a few years near a few brown pigment spots under my eyes–it actually softened the discoloration(weird as that isn’t listed as what is does). Anyway, waiting for sephora’s sunscreen kit instead.

Do any subscription box addicts really NEED any more sunscreen? Maybe it’s just me but I am swimming in sunscreen from all of my boxes!

I think I will wait and see if Sephora comes out with their sun safety kit.

I’m less enthusiastic about the Sephora sun safety kit than I used to be. Last year was a lot of repeats from the year before, including a bunch with chemical sunscreens (which I can’t use on my face due to the possibility of getting a rash). I pretty much stick with buying full size mineral Cotz, Coola, MD Solar Sciences, or Derma E sunscreen (depends on where I am shopping and/or what promos are going on at the time, which of those I get) on my own.

I believe Sephora in jcp have their sun safety kits out. I’m going to check tomorrow.

Oooo this kit is perfect for me! You need a lot of sunscreen when you live in the desert!!

Is it just me, or has Birchbox really narrowed its brands down? Seems like like they’re pretty much a retailer for Coola, Parlor, Supergoop, Cargo, Dr Jart, etc

And Harvey Prince. I do like Supergoop and Coola though, so not entirely a bad thing.

I really get excited about these but I’m always disappointed by the sizes of products. I wish there was an in between full size and sample so I could feel like there was more value.

Agreed, i was excited about this (sunscreen is a daily necessity here), but kinda disappointed in the sizes. The MD Solar Sciences leaves a whitish sheen behind on my skin so its just leaves a bad taste in my mouth overall about this box…until i see Liz’ review 😉 Then I’m determined that i need it 🙂
