This is actually one of the best bags I’ve received in awhile.
I got:

*Marc Anthony 3 Day Smooth Perfect Blow Dry Smoothing Cream (smells so good!)
*NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick in Soft-Spoken (which I almost bought the other day, and am so glad I didn’t since it costs as much as the entire bag!)
* Pixi Beauty Blush Duo in Rose Gold (soooo pretty)
* Beau Gâchis Paris Eyeshadow brush (soft and well constructed)
*Manna Kadar eyeshadow in Fantasy (beautiful rose gold shade with a slight bronze undertone)

I will be using every single item in this bag, which is a rarity for me when it comes to Ipsy.

Patti

That is a good bag. Probably the top 5 best products they’re offering this month, in my opinion.

My first month with Ipsy and not quite what I was expecting. Got the MUFE primer, Pixie blush, starlooks eyeliner, a makeup brush and Caviar anti-aging voulme mist for hair. I am happy with the primer and I’ll try the liner. Oh well, I’ll see what comes next month.

*Eyeshadow brush
*Starlooks eye pencil
*Pixi blush duo
*NYX liquid suede cream lipstick
*Dead Sea Mask

I think this is a pretty good bag for me! Provided it is all to my colouring, I think I’ll use everything in this bag, which is a nice change of pace. My Birchbox for the month also looks like it’ll be good, depending on sizes of samples, so this month is shaping up well for me! 🙂

I am getting
* Me me me Loose Powder Brush
* Illamasqua Precision Ink liner in Abyss
* Global Beauty Care Collagen Spa Treatment Mask
* Manna Kadar Cosmetics eyeshadow in Fantasy
* Temptu Warm Glow Bronzer

I am most excited about the brush, liner, and mask. The eyeshadow says it can be used as a blush/highlighter so maybe that will be good. I was hoping for the Colourpop highlighter in Wisp so maybe this will be something close. I have used the Temptu product before and it is something of a highlighter as well. Overall, I am pretty good with my bag.

Nyx liquid suede creme lipstick-color may be hard to pull off but I’ll give it a go with a light hand.
Illamasqua precision ink liquid eyeliner-I need a new liquid eyeliner so I’m happy about this one.
Vera Mona lotus eye shadow in Mona-Don’t normally wear pink shadow, but it will look cute with the liquid eyeliner.
Temptu warm glow bronzer-I’m curious about this one.
Collagen spa treatment mask-I love masks and haven’t tried this one.

What do you guys think of Ipsy compared to Allure? Thinking of cancelling Ipsy and trying out Allure. Thanks

Reply ButtonReply

RedPandaPop

If it’s one or the other I would suggest Allure. I happen to get both and I find that they both have their perks. The contents of the Allure box are always much higher end products than Ipsy’s, and I find that I use more of the products. One of the big differences is that everyone gets the same products with Allure, so I’m never disappointed that I didn’t receive something others received. I like the fact that Allure includes a little booklet explaining each product, how to use it, and why it was chosen for the box. Another thing is that Ipsy has the cute little makeup bags, but at this point I have so many that I end up giving them away.
I will say though that Allure’s customer service is nowhere near as good as Ipsy’s. Quite frankly it’s the most frustrating customer service I’ve ever encountered. They will also sometimes include one use type of products or perfume samples, which I despise. They have gotten better about that though.
I’d totally suggest giving it a shot for a few months. If anything you can always cancel and re-sub to Ipsy.

I switched 2 months ago. I like Allure much better. PLUS, get this, they send out extra things, sometimes. A lot of people got a bonus box last month, and also, I got an extra shipment with a full sized Clarins lip color. Their samples are better, they ship right after they take money from your account, there really is no down side to the Allure box.

Amy

Do it! You won’t regret it! I did it last month and I don’t have any hard feelings. Allure is so much better.

Reply ButtonReply

darla

Oh, Allure is awesome! I have been so impressed with their boxes. And they randomly send you free goodies here and there!

Reply ButtonReply

Lee

Do it! It is so much better. Even if you do not win their random gifts.

Reply ButtonReply

Renita

This will be my first Ipsy bag. I am totally underwhelmed but I’ll stick with it for now. I may trade Ipsy for birch box eventually. I’m just getting started with subs so I’ll have a little patience.

Reply ButtonReply

Subie

Birchbox has such a better points system that if you’re only doing one, I’d go for BB. People say ipsy sends more makeup but I get about the same from both of them in regards to hair/skin/primer stuff.

Reply ButtonReply

Jaimie

I’m actually very impressed this month. I think it’s my best month to date.

It cosmetics – bye bye undereye
Modelco – lip gloss
Esalon – perfect ending leave in conditioner
Nots – 28 remedy toner
Skone cosmetics – insanely intense tattooed eyeliner in jet black

Reply ButtonReply

darla

That liner looks really cool!

Reply ButtonReply

Lisa

I got the make up for ever primer, lotus eyeshadow in clover, pixie blush duo in rose gold, first aid beauty ultra hydrating serum, and the perfect ending conditioner.

Reply ButtonReply

Brownie

My bag is so lame! ?
NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick
Nudestix Lip + Cheek Pencil in Mystic
Eyebrow Brush
Nourishing Argan Oil of Morocco 3 Day Smooth Perfect

Reply ButtonReply

Tamara

Wait – are you only getting 4 things?

I wanted that NudeStyx, though. 🙂

Reply ButtonReply

McKenna

I have two bags a month, (because I got my mom to try ipsy but she wasn’t impressed so she gave me her annual subscription as well as mine), and I’m getting these in my bags:

Bag 1-

*Beau Gachis Paris Eyeshadow Brush

*Marc Anthony Nourishing Aryan Oil of Morocco 3 Day Smooth Perfect Blow Dry Cream (What a mouthful!)

*Vera Mona Lotus Eyeshadow in Clover

*Pixi by Petra Beauty Blush Duo in Rose Gold

*NYX Cosmetics Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick

Bag 2-

The same but swap the brush for the Margaret Dabbs London Super Shiner Buffer.

I’m fairly satisfied with this month, while it doesn’t match my profile. Honestly, they probably don’t even look at the profile you make, they just have you fill it out so you feel like it’s personalized even though it’s only a little bit personalized. Ipsy needs to drop these drugstore brands. Looking at past bags, the brands were better and the samples were bigger. You’d expect that they’d get better as new subscribers join, but nah. I believe that most people joined for nice quality makeup products, not cheaply made products. I really hope that I don’t get the hot pink lipstick. It’s not my style, which they should’ve been able to tell because it says in my profile. I’ve been a loyal subscriber, but Ipsy needs to step up their game. Even their biggest fans are leaving. I’ve never had an issue, but my bags are getting more and more disappointing. I honestly really hope everybody gets good bags! I don’t hate Ipsy, I love it! I’ve just kinda been disappointed lately and I don’t think I’m alone in that.

Reply ButtonReply

Rachel

Dumb question. How do I find out what I’ll be getting in my bag? I see everyone posting “I’m getting ______ in my bag.” How do you know before the bag gets to you?

Reply ButtonReply

McKenna

And I got two drugstore brands in a bag. That’s a big part of why I’m disappointed, along with the lack of personalization and the sneak peaks that make me excited but I never get the “best” stuff. And I always see things that I’d rather get. Not like a totally different product, like a shade of eyeshadow or lipstick.

Reply ButtonReply

gina

I have found really helpful to take the quiz every month ( I know can get annoying but it is worth to try) I select less options but I have been getting nice products. Also I review my products and make sure I either love it or hate it.

Angie

-illamasqua eyeliner
– modelco. Lipgloss
– Marc Anthony 3 day blow out
– Be a Bombshell bronzer
– essence gimme brow

I’m happy to try the eyeliner, but the rest is meh. I think I’ll stick to just Birchbox until Sephora rolls out nationwide. (Which I hope is soon)

Reply ButtonReply

Kelly

I actually like this month for me. If I calculated correctly mine is over a $50 value!

*Skone Cosmetics – Insanely Intense Tattooed Eyeliner in Jet Black
*Pixi Beauty Blush Duo in Rose Gold
*NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick
*MeMeMe Loose Powder Brush
*Nourish Organic Rosehip & Rosewater Body Oil

I think I’ll only be swapping the NYX!

Reply ButtonReply

As4

This is my 2nd bag and I hope I can get use out of all the products..think I will:

-Beau Gachis Paris, Eyeshadow Brush
-Be A Bombshell Cosmectics, Baked Bronzer in Heat Wave
-Make Up For Ever, Hydrating Primer
-Vera Mona, Lotus Eyeshadow in Clover (the item I’m most skeptical about)
-Ziaja, Goat’s Milk Day Cream

Reply ButtonReply

Mel

I got the exact same bag! I’m very happy, and it’s my first bag

Reply ButtonReply

Faye

Not thrilled at all

NYX Liquid Suede Lipstick
Temptu Bronzer (I don’t use bronzers, ever!)
Mana Kadar eyeshadow in fantasy
Alterna caviar volume mist
Margaret Dabbs London buffer

Reply ButtonReply

Patti

I think that everyone that is thinking of cancelling SHOULD cancel to send a message to Ipsy. If Birchbox can send quality items for the same price and Allure for a few dollars more, surely Ipsy can improve on their products. Maybe if they see a huge increase in cancellations, they will finally take notice and actually take people’s preferences more seriously. As of now, there is NO WAY they are using our quiz answers and reviews as a guide. Not based on what I receive every month.

Reply ButtonReply

Katie

I finally cancelled after last month. I started Birchbox in November and I’ve been so much happier with the products I’ve received through them. Some of the samples are tiny, but the product quality is generally way better than what I got from Ipsy.
Last month I was beyond disappointed with my Ipsy bag. The samples were so tiny and out of 5 items I will only use 1. I got a lotion which smells terrible, Trestique blush crayon when I’ve reviewed Trestique poorly in the past, primer oil which causes me to break out, a lip gloss which is sticky and thick, and an eyeshadow brush (the one item I will use).
My envelope was so flat I thought I would open it to find products missing, but nope, everything was just teeny. The total value for my bag was around $30 (around $12 really considering only 1 item is useful to me) which is ridiculous when you have some subscribers getting bags worth $50+! I’ve also seen bags other people got that contained 4-5 items I would have LOVED. I complained to their customer service and they said too bad change your profile quiz (done this several times) and do reviews (I do them every month and honestly too) so I said I’m done! I’m not giving them $10 a month so they can disappoint me.

Sara

I canceled Ipsy quite a few months ago and don’t miss it at all! I still get Birchbox, pretty much only because I’ve been getting it for 5 years though. Ipsy had the higher value for me; but I hated the products. I was always getting eye liners, nail polishes or lip liners which I don’t use any of them. I never got anything I really loved. Liz’s bag was always better than mine.

sylcia

I agree, I received my first Allure box today and its wonderful. Ipsy is sending me a friggin.nail buffer. Then my rypical hand crean n eyeliner. Over it.

Jen

Agree, Some of the products are just terrible, I am getting an IT cosmetics concealer which is the one thing I’ll try and did want to try. The rest is terrible, a green eyeliner, $2 crown brush, modelco lip gloss and a hair product. It just seems like a lot of it is the junk companies can’t sell. I would rather have tiny quality samples than full size products that I would never use or try.

Kristin

Well Said!! I agree 100% with you!

Lee

Marc Anthony: Nourishing Argan Oil of Morocco 3 Day Smooth Perfect Blow Dry Cream
Pixi by Petra: Beauty Blush Duo in Rose Gold
ILLAMASQUA: Precision Ink in Abyss
Margaret Dabbs London: Super Shiner Buffer
Manna Kadar Cosmetics: Eye Shadow in Fantasy

I will only use the eye shadow and blush. I do not buff my nails or wear liquid liner. If the hair product can be used on air dried hair then I may use it. I would still pay $10 for the blush, eye shadow, and bag so I am not too bothered by it. However, I am irked by something; they post all the possible options for the month and what you are getting. I look at some of the other items and I think they would be a better fit for me. Even if the item is similar. The eye liner for an example, I have my profile set on natural and simple so I would think I would get the OFRA Cosmetics Green Go Eyeliner if I was to get an eye liner, but instead I get the liquid liner.

The more I stew on my bag, the more I’m okay with it. It’s better than the last few months, for sure:

Illamasqua Precision Ink in Abyss – usually not into liners, but this looks nice. Fairly sure it’s the full size that sells for $28.
Pixi by Petra Beauty Blush Duo in Rose Gold – looks pretty, it’s a good drugstore brand.
Living Proof Perfect hair Day Dry Shampoo – I’ve been wanting to try this (even though I don’t like the smell of their regular shampoos), and am one of the few who never get tired of dry shampoo 🙂
Me me me Loose Powder Brush – nice $20 brush, but I like matching sets. Collecting Luxie now.
Nourish Organic Rosehip & Rosewater Body Oil – Love rose anything and love that it soothes after-sun skin!

Soo wish I got your bag. Mine is so.lame Giving it one more month

Reply ButtonReply

Julie

I’m getting the exact same bag. I had seen other things in the previews that I was kind of interested in, but after looking over the things sampled this month I’m happy with my bag.

Reply ButtonReply

Patti

I take that back, the website lists it at 14 UK pounds. When you click on the drop down for a different country, the USA isn’t even listed! I don’t think you could buy this brand if you wanted to.

Reply ButtonReply

emily

Yeah, it’s a bummer when you can’t even purchase a product or its counterparts! That has happened to me with several previous Ipsy products, including a face lotion I really enjoyed. I just used my handy currency converter app to estimate the $20 value… I love that thing!

Patti

You got the best bag I’ve seen so far. I’m getting the same Me me me brush and I looked it up on their website and it retails for $14.

Reply ButtonReply

Tamara

I was excited for this month (which is unusual for me), but with all the good products and brands, my bag is pretty lame.

*NYX liquid suede lip cream (I’m happy about this as long as I don’t get the fuchsia color!)
*Beau Gachis brush (yawn)
*Marc Anthony argan oil blow dry cream (yawn – and I don’t blow dry)
*Temptu warm glow bronzer (meh. I’ve tried it before and am not big on liquid highlighters)
*Essence eyebrow gel (yuck)

I’m jealous of a couple bags, including Liz’s, but so many of us are getting disappointing bags! What the heck??

sylvia

I am getting the worst bag here.

The lipstick.everyone is getting
A nail buffer. Ughhh
Eyeliner. Crap
Hand friggin cream double crap
Dark crappy blush

I chged my profile. Giving it one more chance n.cancelling

3. Pixi by Petra

4. NYX Cosmetics

Wish I were getting your bag. I don’t think I am impressed with one item in my bag. Last month’s was great so I thought maybe the bags were getting better. I am gonna have to start donating all the eyeliners I get in my bags. I’ve got enough to give a couple dozen people and still have plenty left over.

Reply ButtonReply

Latasha

I recently resubbed and this will be my first bag in a while..when I log in I don’t see what I am getting? When I click on glam bag its talking about February. what am I doing wrong?

Reply ButtonReply

Victoria

I got a NYX Liquid shade, Pixi blush, Vera Mona eye shadow, Me me me powder brush, and Marc Anthony smoothing cream

Reply ButtonReply

Jen

After a great Feb bag, I hoped that Ipsy was getting better for me, but there’s not one thing I’ll use this month….

NYX Lipstick
Mellow Powder Blush
Starlooks Eye Pencil
Beau Paris Eyebrow Brush
Organic Surge Lavender Hand Cream

Reply ButtonReply

Kelly

So disappointed in my bag this month. I tried to change my setting so that I would get less brushes, eyeliner and lip product. So, of course, that seems to be everything that I’m getting this month. On the wait list for the swap site so hopefully I will have lots to swap.

MeMeMe Loose Powder Brush
Marc Anthony Argan Oil Blow Dry Treatment
Essence Eyebrow Gel Mascara
ModelCo lip gloss
Illamasqua Precision Ink eyeliner

Reply ButtonReply

Kristin

Kelly, I’m getting the Exact same as you. The only thing I will use is the Brush & I do like the Mint/Coral Bag but my other 4 are going up to Swap! The last 3 months I think IPSY has really gone down hill for some of us. Ive updated my beauty profile & nothing! I’m gonna give it 1 more month until April, if I don’t get anything good I will be cancelling. I don’t think they are going by beauty profiles anymore. At least mine they are not…..

Reply ButtonReply

Kelly

I hate to complain because it’s only $10 a month and most other subscriptions are twice that or more. But what’s the point of filling out the preference survey and all of the reviews if they don’t use that information to put together future bags?
