Well, this month is the nail in the coffin for me and Ipsy. Despite already receiving 9 makeup brushes in two years, they are sending me a 10th, but at least it’s not an eyeshadow brush, it’s a blush brush. A lavender hand and body cream and I detest lavender. A light pink shadow which looks hideous on fair skin. Temptu liquid bronzer which I can’t use on my skin and the Nyx Liquid Suede lip color which I’m praying I get in Soft Spoken and not the garish pink or red. Bye Ipsy! Allure and Birchbox have my loyalty now.

If you are looking for something to do with the bags and xtra makeup, take it to a women’s shelter. I put together bags at Christmas and they were all thrilled and thankful. They usually have nothing and it’s a nice gift to make them feel pretty and to know someone cares. Or…send them to me. I put together 26 bags last year, so my 12 Ipsy bags aren’t enough. I’ll get them to a good home : )

That’s a wonderful idea, Sjski ! I know just the women’s shelter I’ll do it for. Thank you!

P.S. Ipsy early access is up if anyone wants to take a look at what they’re getting in their March bag.

I was able to see my bag this morning 🙂

I think this will be my 26th and final Ipsy. I’m so torn. I currently subscribe to Ipsy, Birchbox and Allure and I love my BB and Allure products but I love the cute Ipsy bag. Then again, I do nothing with the bags but shove them in a drawer. The products seem to be skewing younger and cheaper. I just know the moment I cancel, the next bag will be the cutest ever. Ha! Oh well. I’m starting to get pushed out of my own bathroom by the amount of products I have. It’s for the best ;p

I feel your pain!! Some of the bags are super cute but I don’t use them but for some weird reason it’s nice to have them anyway. ?

That’s not Nudestix, it’s Trestique – they send that brand all the time and it’s terrible.

Patti
It is Nudestix, it says it right on the product. Easier to see in a post Ipsy sent out but it’s not Trestique.

They do look very very similar! I saw in the email they sent out that it is nudestix. I’ve always liked the tre’stique products I’ve received.

The bag does nothing for me. I know everyone thinks it’s cute bet ehhh. I really want the Illamasqua but knowing my.luck I won’t get it. I have yet to really dig my ipsy bag, this last month was better but I see everyone else’s and I’m wondering why I end up with what I end up with.

I got the Illamasqua I won’t use it. If you want to trade I’m in the US.

I don’t like the bag this month. Hope I get good items inside though! I get so tired of hair products and brown eyeshadow!

I wonder too how I end up with what get. I review every product and have taken the quiz many times. When I see the spoilers, there is always 1 or 2 items I absolutely do not want and I usually get it. I’m going to cancel. I also hate how they make you spam them all over social media. Also no one gets the really good stuff except you tubers and bloggers with a lot of subscribers. Nobody will get the nudestix or mufe but you tubers. I do not want the illamasqua thing so I’m sure I will get it.

You will not get your bag until the next month. It will not be the March bag.

I wonder the same thing. I signed up today March 1st. I jumped through all their hoops to get off the wait list and received an email that says I’m to receive the bag next month so it seems that it won’t start until April?

They must be swimming in bye-bye undereye samples. This is the third month in a row that they’re using them. I got one in a previous iteration – texture is like glue and the shade didn’t even come close to my skin tone. Fingers crossed I won’t get this.

I haven’t received it from Ipsy before but I did trade for it. The formula is definitely thicker than most but just using a little bit works pretty good. I’ve never found a concealer that completely hides my dark circles though.

I got a “Bye Bye Undereye” sample at least six-eight months ago, so I was surprised to see that they’re still sending them out now. And yes, I also got a medium shade even though my skin profile has me listed as fair. I never even bothered to try it, honestly. You have to “warm it up on the back of your hand” and swirl it around and whatnot before applying it because it’s so thick.
Christina
I’ve never see Bye Bye Undereye samples in anything but Neutral Medium!! The spoiler says “multiple shades”-I will be stalking the swap site for sure to try to find the lighter shade, I do like the product a lot.

This is why I canceled Ipsy, always the same brands, nothing new and exciting. I would’ve loved the It Cosmetics but would always get crap. I hate Nyx, I tried to use some eyeshadow today they sent a long time ago and just hate it. I know people love Nyx, I just do not get it. I like the shade of the colorpop eye shadow though.

I personally find that some Nyx products are EXCELLENT and some are worthless. I even find variation among products in the same line (example: the Butter Lip Balm — some are so smooth and sheer and long-lasting, some of them are awkwardly opaque and bright, some of them have gross clumps of “shimmer” in them). As far as Nyx eye products go, I’d recommend using their pencils instead of powder.

I’ve usually the last person who would defend Ipsy, but i have to disagree with the idea that this is “nothing new.” I have NEVER seen MUFE, Nudestyx, or Illamasqua in any beauty sub (MAYBE Sephora’s Play), much less in an Ipsy bag. I don’t think I’ve seen any ColourPop in any other box, either. And First Aid Beauty isn’t a brand I’m seeing only once in a while. I’m kind of amazed.

They have all been included in one sub or another in the past year, including in ipsy glam bags. In fact Pixi, ColorPop and NYX are ipsy go-to brands (I’ve been a subscriber for 3 years and do reviews of all products so I went back recently and verified). I’ve received Illumasqua and Makeup Forever products in multiple beauty subs over the last 3 years as well; it’s really a matter of how many different subs you test. Ipsy does repeat brands and even identical products, often from one month to the next. In fact I got the same lip color back to back, same shade, same brand, in 2 out of the last 3 months. Last year Urban Decay liners were featured for 4 consecutive months; I know, I got the same one twice then as well. Ditto for Purlesse SPF (and now the serum). If they get a premium brand it’s very common for the product to be featured quite a few times before dropping off the monthly repertoire. I totally understand the complaint about the selections being repetitive because, well, they are. Incidentally, if you get identical product repeats, ipsy is supposed to send a replacement. Of course that only happens after arguing with them about the item in fact being identical (and therefore un-reviewable for points due to previously having been reviewed by you, so a double whammy). But in both recent instances ipsy finally admitted I had received the exact same product twice (they don’t consider products dupes if there is any variation between them, i.e., different colors).
