I agree that these boxes are super heavy and full sized products, not tiny sample sizes. They also are trying to donate proceeds to charity so they can’t afford to lose the $20 in shipping. I do think they could save some in shipping if they stopped including heavy cans of soup in most of their collections though.

I would actually get these if the curation was better. Each one is a “a love half and hate the other” situation for me so none of them are worth the $75. *shrugs*

I have purchased their boxes before. The last one I got weighed 18.2 pounds and came via FedEx. I was charged $20 for shipping when it actually cost them almost 24 to ship it. Bear in mind every single item was full size and very heavy.

I hardly think I’m spoiled to be shocked by what is obviously an offset to recoup the sale value. I’m definitely not alone in the surprise factor. Their market is subscription box customers. If all other subs either include shipping or charge a very reasonable amount for it then that is their competitive market, against whom they will be evaluated by customers. I’ve been a beauty box subscriber for over 3 years and have a pretty good feel for what’s normal in terms of shipping. This is not normal. Lots of subs donate portions of their proceeds to charity so for me simply passing that obligation off to the customer alone just won’t cut it. It’s great if folks don’t mind paying insanely expensive shipping because they’re getting a “discount” but I don’t think anyone shocked by it is “spoiled.”

Is the market subscription box customers? I’m not so sure.

Spoiled or not, I think we’re all used to seeing the shipping cost folded into our box cost for the most part, so the surprise may just be seeing the shipping as a separate charge. If this box is $95 shipped usually, getting it for $70 sounds like a deal to me. Each one includes a LOT of stuff. And shipping is expensive, and climbing all the time. I don’t think $20 is so far off the mark when I look at that very tempting Back to School collection.

Do they ship it via fairies mail from Nicaragua?? 20 bucks!

So the discount gets offset by $20 shipping. Not much of a discount to me. I would’ve jumped on this if it weren’t for the ridiculous shipping gouge.

I’ve gotten two of these before, they are pretty big and heavy. I feel like we’re spoiled with the “free shipping” on every other box. I feel like they spend quite close to that amount for shipping.
