  1. Wow, that is so sad, I loved reviewing this box. Good news though is they are having an AMAZING sale right now on all their items, although they are selling out fast, great thing even better is it’s FREE shipping!!!! What? Just saved a ton on christmas presents!

  2. My subscription says it was inactive even though I had a 3 month gift subscription.. Did anyone check their profile to see if theirs was still active? Thanks in advance!

  3. citrus Lane has all of their items on clearance. Yesterday I bought 21 items for 89.00 from their store. Melissa and Doug toys for $4.00!!

  4. I never tried this subscription because my youngest was too old when I found out about subscription boxes. It’s sad that the sub is shutting down. The comments about this sub have generally been positive. Such a shame.

  5. I’m really sad about Citrus Lane closing down. I received a lot of great high quality items from them and learned about cool new brands. I was lucky that they were around for my little guy’s first two years when I had no idea what types of toys he might like or need. Bluum is just not the same. They are okay but more often then not I feel like they are sending old items or samples…it just doesn’t feel like the same quality and curation as Citrus Lane (even when I get to pick my own box). I hope someone steps up and fills the hole left by CL.

  6. What if we have a year long sub??

    • in my email they state there will be refunds to the card on file for the remainder of the sub. From their email:

“This month you will receive your December and January boxes together. The January box will be the final box you receive from us. Any remaining months on your subscription will be refunded to the credit card we have on file at the multi-month rate for which you purchased it. Please know that we take great care to ensure that all of our subscribers have an excellent experience with their Citrus Lane boxes.”

  7. I knew they were shutting down, but didn’t they just to a big push for subscriptions this month?

I wish Bluum had been a better experience for me. I just wasn’t impressed with their offerings. But perhaps I need to check them out again.

    • I’m guessing maybe they didn’t get as many subscribers as they’d hoped? So they ended up shutting down? I think they took a big drop in value when they joined with Fewer items in the boxes, lower-value items. I cancelled my daughter’s sub about 6 months ago.

I had Bluum for a while and was unhappy with them, too. But I just started up again with them after seeing you can pick your own items for the box, plus they gave me a monthly $19 deal to come back (meaning I can cancel any month).

      • I got that email from Bluum today but didn’t read it (since they’ve been sending a lot of them lately). Most offers have been for $19 if you do a yearly and I’m not that interested. But, now that I’ve read your comment, I’m thinking I might go try it out again for the month to month.

This box would be for my 2.5 year old. Now I need something fun for my 5.5 year old -any suggestions?

      • Glad my comment helped! I figured doing Bluum at $19/month was lower risk. And I like that you can now pick your own boxes if you want.

For your older kid, one option would be Kiwi Crate. They have boxes with crafts and other activities in them, like games. I’ve gotten a couple for my daughter, and they have lots of activities in them. Trying to think of other options…I think there’s a Young Explorers box or something like that.
