January 2016 Luxor Box Spoiler

I LOVE my Luxor Box subscription. I didn’t like the ” Most Requested” box, and I won’t be doing that again, but the reg. boxes are beautiful.

I’m super excited about the Mottahedeh mug as my kitchen is blue and white tiles and flooring. It’s unusual to find pretty blue and white accessories. Also, I never see snow, so the snowflake pattern is cute for me. If I lived in a cold weather climate, probably not so cute. 🙂

I hope it’s another great box and I’m really looking forward to the ” large item”, whatever it is. 🙂

I’m not sure how I feel about this yet. I don’t get excited about mug in general. But the more I look at it, I thought it might work as a mini flower vase on the table, or to put kitchen tools by the stove. I only wish that this would have been in the Nov box, so that we can use it for the holidays, instead of waiting till January..

Remind me, isn’t there going to be a price hike? Like if I were to cancel and sign up again, I would be paying more than $125??? wasn’t that communicated to us? Or am I dreaming?

Meh. I’m not excited so far. I loved last month’s box and was hoping Luxor would be my new favorite sub, but this disappoints me. I have too many random mugs at home already. I also hate winter (especially all the snow!) and don’t really want a mug with snowflakes. I know this is a higher end brand, but I feel like I can buy a winter-themed mug at Target, or even the dollar store. This will be gifted or put on the swap site. Crossing my fingers that the rest of the box will be awesome and make me feel better about spending $125 on it!

I love the mug! I usually drink my morning tea from a travel mug so my cat doesn’t think it’s sharing time, but this mug might change my mind. . .

I think I’ll be trying this subscription if there’s a great Black Friday deal.

That mug is so pretty, and 7″ tall is pretty tall for a mug.

Still, the box is kind of expensive, and the mug is ~15% of the total value ($45/$300,min), not sure at ~60% discount ((300-125)/300) that the mug is worth it to me for something i’d likely use to hold my knitting needles or crochet hooks, and is still like paying $19 for a really gorgeous mug. i guess i am not luxe enough. i know i will have box envy when i see the rest of the contents and i can’t wait to see what you get.

Ooooooooooo I love the mug (though I wouldn’t pay $45 for it either)! I WISH the oversize item would be the large oval bowl that matches the mug, but my bet is on a blanket or throw. I hope it’s a large one, and soft! I can never have too many blankets or mugs 🙂

Meh, the mug isn’t very exciting. The oversized item is probably a throw, which I really don’t need. I’ll have to pass on this month.

Really, really hoping for a Black Friday deal since I’m kicking myself for not locking in the old box price! 🙂

While the mugs RV seems high, I have actually priced this company’s product before and the RV is in line with their products. They are a high end china company that is generally higher than Wedgwood or Lenox and more in line with Spode and rosenthal so the RV is not surprising to me as a 4 piece place setting of their china is around $200 or more.

I loved the theme when it came out and was seriously considering ordering but then this spoiler and I was once again reminded that to me luxor box always has an old lady vibe. (No offense to those who love luxor it just so far has not fit my style.) I am intrigued by the too big for the box item and hope its a blanket. Do I risk the $125? Its not like i need another blanket…I buy them all the time since i love to be cozy on the couch.

Got burned on the “most requested” box. Definitely taking a pass, especially with a mug “valued” at $45. I realize there’s still a lot of potential value left but I worry about over-inflating again.

Pretty but boring.

On the bright side, the RV leaves plenty of room for other items.

That ‘extra-large’ item just HAS to be a blanket!
