Julep Mystery Box Time! NY vs LA Boxes + Coupon Code!

I was an idiot and bought both. What a disappointment. The ‘holographic’ polish is in a gray base, and just looks dirty. Save your money and buy “Disco Ball” from Sally Hansen for $3.00. All the other colors are just plain ugly…basically different shades of mud. I can’t even give these away, they are THAT bad. I will not get sucked in to purchasing ANY Julep “Mystery Box” ever again. It was like they found the ugliest colors that were not selling and sent them to suckers. Wow, I can’t believe that Julep would do this to their customers. Never again. They have lost my trust. I will be cancelling my Maven subscription ASAP.

I got the LA box, which arrived yesterday. I’m wondering if I was sent the wrong one. The urban vs boho thing had me expecting darker, edgier shades with the NY box, and brighter earth tones with the LA box. In my LA box I recieved:

The caddy
A nail file
2 packets containing 2 orange sticks
The plié wand
Brighter is better nail treatment
Bianca nail polish (holo glitter topcoat)
Joanne nail polish (grayish purple creme)
Becky nail polish (oil slick silk)

I also recieve Daria for free with a coupon, which went beautifully with the color scheme they’ve got going on. I love all the colors, but I’m not quite sure how they were inspired by LA. This is what I pictured for the NY box.

I already had quite a few of those items, which is always a risk with mystery boxes. Also, once again I recieved a color in this box that I *just* recieved in my July mystery box, which seems kind of unfair to me. I like the Joanne color, but really?

Hmm. I was planning/hoping to get the September mystery box as I knew what I wanted to add on with the coupon but I’m not wild about the glitter polish and don’t need the caddy. Grr. And wish there was something more to go on with the choices, I like it when they tell you that one will be more polish and one more make up, or something like that. Not going to go for it unless they still have them available when I see what people get!

Couldn’t help myself, bought both. Figure I can give the duplicate polish and caddy to one of my daughters.

I’m waiting a few days until spoilers come out to see if either of them appeals to me. I prefer when they just do one mystery box!

I couldn’t stop myself I ordered the NY one. I just assume the NY will have darker colors and the LA with have lighter ones ill let you know when i get it.

So they’ve drastically reduced the liklihood of customers buying both boxes b/c of the duplicates… and they’ve given almost nothing to go on to help decide which one a customer should order. We don’t if there will be make-up, skincare or all/mostly polish?

Wow, I love Juelp but no way I’d buy this one.

No for me. On Julep overload. Was going to suspend, but now may just cancel. I get entranced by the pretty colors. 🙂

uuuhhh… is it just me or is everyone seeing the exact same 2 items for the NYvrsLA mystery boxes? Bianca Bombshell and the caddy.
