Huge fail. They not only cut the number of items by more than half, but then they raise the price? Honestly they should be embarrassed. I just opened a Nordstrom card and this left a bad taste in my mouth. Anyone know the value for these samples?

Where is the post of the review of this bag? It was up earlier. It agreed with most people that the bag was not a great value or but somehow got censored after it was posted.

I accidently published the draft instead of the full review – it will be up again soon! Sorry about that!

I loved my bag last year and was so excited when I heard they were releasing another one. Wow- what a disappointment! The fact that it’s 6:20 MST and they are still available speaks volumes. There was nothing of interest. On the plus side,I just saved myself $29.
Dud.

Argh! I grabbed two along with other items I wanted to hit the free shipping WITHOUT looking closely. Seriously bummed after the previous bags. The only positive is that I’m new to makeup and skin care, so I’m sure I’ll use the items but so NOT worth the price. Waaaaaahhhhhh!

I would say it’s not bad, but it’s just not the amazing deal we are used to from this…. it’s worth the price, but just meh for what I would expect from this bag.

You have 24 hours to cancel if over $25 was spent. You have an out… 🙂

I called three hours after ordering (and spent WAY more than that on Johnny Was stuff) and they said nope. It was a no go after 2 hours.

Jane

I remember being disappointed last year because they sold out in the first half hour or so and I didn’t manage to get my hands on one. They are obviously not having that problem this year. I hope someone at Hautelook and/or Nordstrom is paying attention. Raising the price while halving the value is not great for sales.

I just noticed something. The promo picture for last year’s bag had a big sticker on it “Only $25! A $180 dollar value!”

This year’s is just quietly $29, with no mentions of how much the contents are worth at all.

It’s just absurd. I couldn’t help but notice that it have been available for almost five hours now and is not sold out. Sure, I’d love the eyeliner, but that’s just basically a foil sample pack! You can use each color once before they dry up after opening. I don’t need anti-aging cream, and DEFINITELY do not want a perfume sample. There’s just nothing there, and yet they’re asking more money than usual. If they price it at Target’s $5, I’ll get it, but not for a dime more.

Pass. No brainer for me. I wouldn’t pay 5.00 for this box.

This Hautelook beauty bag was about as exciting as Amazon Prime Day was. Easy pass.

Ugh. I set my alarm and threw this bad boy in my cart and bought it, seriously, without any looking at it. It’s only now, when I’ve sat down to look at it, that I’ve gone…ewww.!!! So, I just called and sure enough i can’t cancel. Even the nice lady on the phone said, “I’ve bought beauty bags in the past but I did not buy this one.” :(( Epic. Fail.

Reply ButtonReply

Epic fail. I couldn’t be more disappointed that I purchased this. Also told my friends to order since last years looked so amazing. Very upset that I wasted my money. Haute Look is out for me going forward.

It’s the law, you can cancel within 24 hours if over $25 is spent. And why would they want to force you to buy this anyways? What kind of company are they?

chris

State law varies here.

Waiting to see if they go down in price first which I am pretty sure it will, as just about every bag they have had on Hautelook has done so. So, if your on the fence about it I would ride it out and see because last time I was kicking myself…lol.

So glad this turned out to be a dud! I normally have no self control but this was an easy pass.

Moving up from just $25 last time for an 18 piece bag with deluxe sample and full sized products, to now $29 + tax + shipping ($37.13 total) for a bag plus only 7 sample products (and that’s including a foil pack sample and carded perfume sample) made the decision to remove the two I had in my cart very easy.

Brooke

Easy pass. Last year’s was SO awesome…. I got 2 and loved them. This year? I agree with everyone else…. tiny samples that come free from other companies….

Marlene

Pass.

AmyM

What a dud compared to last year. Very easy to pass.

Cassandra

I am on the West Coast and set my alarm so I would not miss 8am start. I looked at the offerings saw the price went up from last year and half the items! No way.

Reply ButtonReply

Emmy

They filled it with ONLY samples?!

Reply ButtonReply

Tj

Same here. Not worth it, at all!

Reply ButtonReply

Christina

This seems like something you would get as a gwp but with a nicer bag. It’s a nice idea but I will pass.

Danielle

I was so looking forward to grabbing this bag after reading about how awesome it was in the past, but I’m definitely not getting this one. I wouldn’t even get it if it were $10 with free shipping. Very disappointing!

Reply ButtonReply

Cindy

I hope a lesson will be learned with this pitiful offering.

Reply ButtonReply

Carla

So disappointed! I signed up for Haute Look this week JUST so I could snag this item and was eagerly looking forward to Friday. Not picking this up – not worth it at all. Thanks for ruining all my Friday morning fun Haute Look!

Reply ButtonReply

Theresa

Yep, this is definitely underwhelming and disappointing – NOT worth $29. I’d rather spend $25 online at Sephora and get 4 samples of my choice!

Reply ButtonReply

Pamela

Agree, this is completely underwhelming. The clutch looks boring for summer. Samples are so tiny. The only thing I would get it for is the GlamGlow and Bobbi Brown Liner, might as well buy them alone.

Reply ButtonReply

mimiretz

I have the Bobbi Brown eyeliner sample, got it with something else (don’t remember exactly what). E-mail me at [email protected] if you want it.

Lisa

I had it in my shopping cart, then took it out. for $29 plus shipping, I’m underwhelmed. Clinique and Estee Lauder send these items with their GWPs all the time, so this one just doesn’t seem special.

Reply ButtonReply

WK

Completely agree, Lisa. You can get Estee Lauder / Clinque GWPs almost every time and theirs usually are better than foil samples.

Disappointing.
