I just got my box today and boy I am happy with the products and value that I received.

I hate to be a Debbie Downer, but these are all items from previous boxes that Cocotique threw together. I do enjoy the boxes that I get from them (I subscribe off and on), but they have to do better with these mega boxes that they are selling. They should be putting new products in these mega boxes, not repeats.

You’re not being a DD. 🙂 Many subscription services do the same — put out large boxes comprised of old offerings at a value price. They’re trying to clear old inventory and attract new customers who might be giving them a try for the first time. So the question isn’t so much whether the items are repeats from past boxes but whether they’re giving you a better price this time around. Not being a Cocotique subscriber, I can’t answer that, but this at least appears to be good value.

Cocotique knows how to put together a nice beauty box, especially seeing this right after the disappointing reveal of the Nordstrom’s beauty bag on Hautelook tomorrow. However, when I study each product, I realize I already own so many similar products except the castor oil (I need some eyebrow growth) and I can buy that separately for a lot less. But a few months ago? I would’ve jumped on this baby.

Aside from the Nicka products not being among my favorite brands (among other drug store brands) this looks like a pretty good value for only $35. I like that the items are versatile enough for women of any race to enjoy. Other subs should take a cue from this one and make their boxes a lot more all inclusive, or at least give options for skin tone specific products when they’re included.
I don’t know what others use the castor oil for but it’s a great eyebrow growth treatment. I’ve been using it for about 4 months on a daily basis and have lots of new/regrowth where I thought I’d never have brows again. If you look at different “eyebrow serums” a large number of them list castor oil among the first 5 ingredients. Plain castor oil is a much cheaper way to get pretty much the same benefits.

I looked up some of the products and I’m going to have to pass on this box. For example, apparently Milani Cosmetics is a drugstore brand. I get so many high end beauty items in boxes that the wow factor is just not there for me.

Definitely looks like a great value! I would love to see the breakdown of the $142 if anyone does it… and I’m not familiar with these products so would love to hear opinions of quality & effectiveness. 🙂
