  1. Can anyone tell when the book will ship? I didn’t see a ship date on the website. This is a great sub, but the website is pretty rough.

    • It seems to me that before it was labelled ‘sold out’ on the website it stated April 8 shipping date. But if you want to know give them a call and confirm that, do so. They have great customer service and will give you an answer.

    • It looks like my box was sent on March 10 but there is no tracking info.
This will be my first indispensable box and I am very excited!

      • I noticed the pending charge from Powell’s on my bank app this morning so I guess they’re going to be shipping earlier than they planned. I’m excited!

  2. I missed it! I have been checking the website pretty diligently, but didn’t check it at the right time I guess…maybe I’ll get in next time.

  3. Do they have a digital copy version? That would be cool. I would love to subscribe to a book subscription but I don’t want all the books taking up a bunch of space. Just cleaned out my bookcase.

    • No, its only hard copies. Usually they are hardcover books with specially designed slipcovers. After reading you could pass along to a fellow book lover, donate to Goodwill or local public library, etc like I do. Or sale them to recoup some of your money. Because of the special slipcovers and the fact that some of the books come signed by the author, you may be able to get a little bit more than the typical resale price of the mass produced versions on ebay or amazon.

  4. Thanks for reminding us! I signed up last night! So excited for this one! I just need to make room on my bookshelf for these books to come rolling in. Right now there’s no room! Does anyone know of a Facebook group or a goodreads group (do they even have those) to discuss the books?

    • I am working on getting a Goodreads group set up for us. I hope to have it up and running at the end of the month (I need Spring Break time to spend some time on it).

    • Love this idea–I’m in! Let us know when it’s up.

  5. I have been checking about once a week, but missed it! Please let us know if you hear it opens up again, Liz!

  6. I kept getting an error and now the website says it’s sold out. That was quick!

  7. I wanted to add this to my want list on the website but I can’t find it to add it? Also I was wanting to add the box of style to my I have list and can’t find it.

    • I found it this way: On the Subscription Box List page, hover over Other and click on Books for Indiespensable. I don’t think Box of Style has been added yet.

      • Thanks for the quick reply! Got them all added now. Need to keep track of my addiction somehow lol.

        • I’m glad it is helpful! I’ve been trying to think of how we can improve that part of the site, so if you have any suggestions let me know 🙂

          • A table or calendar with ship, bill, deadline to skip dates would be great. Or if anyone has suggestions on how they keep track of their boxes at home, I’d love to hear them. I haven’t figured out a good system yet.

          • For some reason I don’t have the button to reply to CJ reply below. But I like the idea of a calendar. And maybe the ability to log when yours shipped and when received. That would also be cool of we had the ability to upload a photo of our box each month…but I know server space is spendy.

          • I also wanted to add (sorry don’t know where to put this and I know I have hijacked this post) that when my addiction started I downloaded the deliveries app for my iPhone and it is awesome! It keeps track of all your deliveres and updates you on status. And it has an archive history which I have found useful. They may have it for others like android but I don’t know. It’s worth every penny. I also sent up fed ex, ups, and usps to alert me when a package is coming my way. My name is Jackie, I’m addicted to subscription boxes.

  8. Subscribed last night! Yay!

  9. It appears I’m too late again. Sigh. What are bookworms supposed to do?

  10. Ughhh did I miss it already?? I’m also getting the error message. I’ve been checking obsessively for the past few weeks. 🙁

  11. And they’re gone already 🙁 Do they have a waiting list for this? Or an email list just to announce openings?

    • I emailed them when they sold out last time about getting on a wait list but they said they didn’t have one. You just have to keep checking the website on a regular basis and hope you catch them when they have some openings like I did. They said they have a very limited number of openings come available each time and those sell out quickly. I guess that’s why it seems to be more by word of mouth than by them advertising it because the club isn’t currently set up to take on and supply the demand of a lot of new members at once. Which is fine with me. I’d rather wait for a chance to join a quality subscription than immediately join one that’s overwhelmed by the influx new members and the quality of the box suffers as a result. I’ve seen it before, box services going down hill in a hurry because they tried to take on more than they could chew. I do hope you’re able to join next time. Since the box ships every 6 weeks, you may want to start checking for openings in mid to late April for the May shipment or keep an eye out for a notification from MSA.

      • Thank you for the info! I was checking every week and of course the week I don’t, spots open up! Figures!

I’ll actually be there in April so maybe I’ll get lucky and can sign up while in the store (even if it’s via my phone)!

  12. Did it already close again? I get an error message when I try to add to cart. 🙁 🙁

    • I got the same message! I was so excited since the book sounds very interesting and I’ve been waiting for this subscription to open for a while.

Sorry, but that title (Indiespensable Subscription) has already been purchased. However, you can use the search page to look for other editions of the same title.

  13. Thanks so much for the heads up Liz! Been waiting to subscribe to powells, glad to have the chance to!

  14. Does anyone know when it will ship? I’ll be moving soon, so would like to know what address to put.

    • The website says it ships April 8th.

      • Thanks! I figured shipping it to work would be the best option. Can’t wait for this!

  15. The last book was excellent. It fused a few popular genres to form a very compelling story. I can’t wait to see what they have in store for us next month!

  16. Finally available! My first book subscription! So excited!

  17. YAY!! Finally! I’ve been stalking their website for weeks hoping to catch the new member openings. Subscribed!
