My first Fathom box arrived today! I like some of the items more than others, but you can’t beat the value: I priced out everything in the box, and what I’d have had to spend for the items was a whopping $127. That includes a $25 certificate for an “Instagram Friendly Photo Book (including USPS shipping),” but even if you don’t take advantage of that, it was still over $100 worth of stuff. No time to do an unboxing video, but hopefully it’ll be reviewed here on the site so you can all see the stuff!

Thank you for keeping the items under wraps.

I received mine today also! Little bummed though but I’m not sure what exactly I was expecting. Did you get two instagram photo book certificates? I did but I think it was only supposed to be one.

I usually jump at travel boxes but $100 makes me nervous without knowing more and not being able to return it… It’s a shame since Hitha’s last box wasn’t not useful to me at all so I’d returned it and the spoilers I’ve seen for HGQ04 haven’t prompted me to subscribe again. It still kind of miss TravelBox, which shut down last summer…

I subscribed. We’ll just see what comes.

This is an interesting box for me and my husband. He travels a lot for business and we travel 3-4 times a year together. Looks like two women are behind the curation of the box. I wonder if this box is gender-neutral… big ticket item spoiler will be good. Or I will just wait for the review and purchase only items I would definitely use.

Darn them…I just cancelled two boxes due to their change in returns policy and they just pulled me right back in with the new box from Fathom. One of the boxes I cancelled was Hitha’s so I am hoping this will be more to my liking. Hope to see some spoilers though.

I just signed up for the Dave Asprey box! I am so excited it has a fitness orientation! The spoiler is amazing! Eek I am so excited!!

Do they bill immediately or when the box ships? I’ve been waiting for the perfect Quarterly box and I think this is it. I was thinking about getting Hitha’s box, but with a $100 price tag, this one really has me intrigued. I travel a lot so this could be really worth it to me.

They bill right before the box ships. Hope that helps!

Thanks Liz! I just signed up for this box AND the Hitha on the go box! What the heck, it’s only money lolol. What I mean is, I’ve prepaid for my pop sugar and julep so there’s room in the budget. When I saw that Hitha is shipping in February, I had to sign up bc the anticipation of waiting for a March shipment of this box is too much to handle.

Mary

Ditto on all the above. I already have a Fitbit so a large part of the Arianna Huffington box will go unused. Heading over to Quarterly to cancel. Too bad but appreciate the spoiler.

Do we still have the ability to cancel before the box bills?

Janet

Their website says as long as you cancel before the billing notice you won’t get billed. It’s shipping in February but when? I decided to cancel and when I filled out my reasons said that I’d re-subscribe if there were interesting spoilers or they changed their return policy back. If it’s like last time, there should be time to re-subscribe if they post something that tempts me.

I’m glad they released this spoiler – I’ve been wanting to try a fitness tracker, but I’m not sure about the clip on Jawbone Up – now I’m debating cancelling Arianna’s next box and putting the money towards one of the nicer trackers….

Is fathom competing with hitha?

The new curator sounds promising, but I want a spoiler just like everyone else. I’m hesitant to give them a $100.00 for an unknown box.

I don’t understand activity trackers. I tried looking up the Jawbone Up and can’t tell if it is wireless. Anyone know?

I received one of these in the Kevin Rose box, so I am likely cancelling my Huffington box because… well, who needs two?

To answer your question, they are wireless.
The battery is not rechargeable.
You download the UP app on your phone, enter some basic information like your name, goals (weight, height, steps per day goal, hours of sleep goal), etc. It’s really easy.

You turn the device on and pair them.

Your phone doesn’t need to be near the device for it to work, but you can open the app and sync them whenever you want so it tracks your sleep and steps.

I can go into further detail, but it’s really easy and there are directions in the box. You can also look up Jawbone UP Move or Jawbone UP on youtube and can see you how it works.

Thank you for taking the time to write all that. It was helpful.

Janet

I looked it up on their site and it says that it has wireless synch. The battery life is listed as six months, which makes me wonder if it is rechargeable or not. I like my fitbit One but I’m always forgetting to put it on… not so motivating when it’s sitting on the dresser…

PA Anna

Does that mean I can use it without the wireless synch? I’m not big on wireless devices and can’t figure out if I can use it without it being wireless.

Janet

Now I have to decide if I want to keep or drop Ariana’s box… I already have a fitness tracker! Hopefully there will be some more interesting spoilers but it sounds like another situation where I could probably just by the parts of the box I want for close to the $100…

Ditto! Interested in this box, but going to need some spoilers in order for me to spend $100.

This is my kind of box! But I don’t know enough information to just give them $100 and now they don’t take returns. I’ll try to find out more about the box because this is something I’d enjoy.

Ladyk927

Really interested in this but for $100 a pop with no option of return I’m super hesitant to jump on board for the first box. I really wish I could see a spoiler first
