New Subscription Box: Oui Please Box

For approximately the next 24 hours, use coupon code makeuptalk to save 20% off an annual OuiPlease subscription. (Credit for the coupon goes to sparklesgirl on MUT!)

This is a really good deal if you can commit to buying a year (6 boxes) up front. It brings the cost down to less than $100 a box:

Oui Please Cart

The next Oui Please box ships in February. (Check out my review of the first Oui Please box to see more!)

I have decided for now this for me will be a one and done. I really cannot justify the price to continue this, it’s too much of a gamble. If they decide to allow come customization (like no earrings, silver over gold, etc…) I may consider at a later date. Also, the box values were all over the place, mine was well under what they advertised and I also did not receive items in every category either. I initially was pleased with mine until I saw how great others boxes were and lost that initial happiness over mine. I can like and appreciate others boxes, but I really want to love mine. Popsugar and Little Lace Box don’t send out different versions/value boxes for the same cost and I really do like the items they include so I’m sticking with them for now. I can get 2 boxes from each of these subs for the price of 1 of these boxes even.

You know what I wish? I wish they could preauthorize my cc for the whole amount minus the 20% and then bill as each box is shipped. Then I could “fool” myself in to thinking I didn’t just spend that much on a box that is hit or miss. Wishful thinking!

I’m tempted. I am not going to do it because it’s still a lot of money on a box that does not allow for much customization even though the boxes have different items. I don’t want the clothes or earrings. Too bad because it did bill itself as a french discovery service and it would be useful to me to discover items that interests me.

It’s great that they are offering another discount code. I hope others enjoy their boxes!

Arrgh. I purchased an annual subscription four days ago at full price! I just sent a message to OuiPlease customer service kindly requesting the discount be applied. Will let you know their response.

OuiPlease responded within 24 hours and agreed to my request to have the 20% discount applied to my annual subscription that I purchased on the 18th. Great customer service and I am très happy!

They honored it last time they offered this. So, I believe they wont have a problem. Their CS seems to be pretty good.

I wanted to sign up for Oui Please back in December when they originally offered a 20% discount, but didn’t have the funds. I was so thrilled to see this offer that I went ahead and spent the money upfront for an annual subscription. Very excited right now!

I so want to sign up to this… now I am down to one quarterly box. But I just cant. As much as I wanted and almost did for the first box. The fact that they are not all the same. The values seem to be all over the place. Some of them not even hitting the value they promised. I would have been upset if I got some of the boxes I saw.

I guess missed seeing the not so good boxes because I saw only really good ones. My box was great, too. I also think this would be best as a quarterly sub versus an every other month box. It’s much easier for subscribers to justify the cost (it is for me anyway). Plus it would cut down on customers subscribing/unsubscribing/resubscribing, which would be good for the company (better predictability for ordering inventory, which in turn cuts costs).

I agree with all of you here. This luxurious box is certainly tempting, but I didn’t and probably won’t. I feel bad for the subscribers who got the lower valued boxes. I wonder how it would be if this is a quarterly subscription, so total yearly cost is lower, then pick/choose some of more expensive items (since there are like 10 and this might give enough time for the company to prepare customized boxes) and keep the rest as mystery. I think customers will be happier even though they choose cheaper item over more expensive one because they will use them. I went a little crazy last year with subscription boxes (mostly foodie and toddler stuff) and some one-time beauty/men boxes during holidays, so I am going to scale back and save $$ this year. The mystery part of the box is so much fun, but I feel overwhelmed with stuff in my small apartment!

I’m on the same boat as you. There were only one or 2 items I really loved in the last box…the rest were just nice fillers. I can think of a lot more valuable/productive things to do with $560.
I’m also down to 1 sub (just riding out a yearly subscription). These boxes are fun, but I just feel overloaded with ‘stuff’ and the never ending chase of ‘the next thing’ that only offers temporary satisfaction.

I never looked at it as ” the never ending chase of ‘the next thing’ that only offers temporary satisfaction.” your so right. I used to get cheaper $10 boxes, just to get boxes, now I crave more and more expensive / interesting boxes. Then when I get a few of those, I cancel looking for newer boxes. In the mean time the box clutter ads up.

Sara

I agree, if I could mix and match what I wanted from the available items, it’d be perfect. But some of the boxes I didn’t like anything in them and would be mad receiving them. If I signed up for a $150 and ended up hating everything in it, I’d be super mad. It looks great if you have that kind of money to shell out though.

Is this only for yearly subscriptions? I’m subscribed but just box to box.
