Just a question, has anyone tried “The running box” by quarterly? How did they like it? How did it compare to other running boxes?

Thanks!

I can’t believe I just signed up for a $100 mystery box. But its Wil Wheaton so what can I do! I can’t wait to see it.

Don’t forget Eureka and The Guild. I had to get it. If I don’t like it I can always return it. But he is a great guy that is all about telling the kids who are classed as geeks/nerds to be proud of themselves and be who they want to be.

Signed up as soon as I got the email!!! I have been a fan forever and I love Tabletop, Big Bang and his other appearances (Nerdist, Talking Dead, etc…) if he keeps this nerdy it will be a huge win for me and will be up there with MSA as my favorite boxes!

I subscribed to this as soon as I saw the email! I’m so excited. I can’t wait to see what’s in his box, especially because it’s $100. πŸ˜€

As soon as I received the notification from QC I told my husband about it and he slapped his nerd on and ordered it immediately! Hahaha πŸ˜€ He is so excited and I am as well! I think this one may sell out. If only a spot would open on the MSA box wait list and life would be perfect <3 * fingers crossed *

Are. You. Kidding. Me?!?!?! I am so ticked off with Quarterly and then they have to go and get one of my all time FAVORITE PEOPLE to curate a box. Dude. To say that I am a huge fan would be a massive understatement. How dare you, Quarterly. How dare you. Now I have to give them $100. The only thing that would be better is if Patrick Stewart curated a box…*sigh*

I would be all over a Patrick Stewart box and I don’t even remotely consider myself as a nerd. That would just be plain awesomeness in a box!!!

I adore Wil Wheaton…but I want to wait and see some spoilers or see what the first box is like. 100 smackers is a bit pricey…but I want to support Wil in his good works.

BTW Tabletop is a fun show. My husband and I have started playing board games after watching the show.

Signed up as soon as I got the email. I had filled out a form here on Quarterly a while back asking people who might be interested in a Wil wheaton box to express their interest. i was born in 1972, so I am close to the same age as Wil and I grew up a major Trek fan. Wil is one of those actors well known in geekdom who is a true geek himself. His show on Scyfy, Table Top is great for both gamers and, i think, a lot of non-gamers as well. Can’t wait to get his boxes. With the ’70s box coming in February, if schedule holds, the ’80s box should make a great birthday gift to myself. Can’t wait.

After I posted, a thought occured to me. It really is great for those of us into the nerdish hobbies. With the Wheatonbox coming and both Warwick Davis and Val Kilmer involved in a Nerd Block, celebrity participation in boxes of this theme seems like something that might become more common. Hope so! How about a Seth Green curated Toys and Collectibles box or just a box of his own?

Lol. You guys are hysterical. I agree 100%! Maybe I’ll hit up his Facebook and tell him he already has a customer base for a sub box in case he ever wanted to curate one. πŸ˜‰

Dude. Yesssss. I’m an enormous geek and trekkie and am all for nerd boxes. I would also really love Neil Gaiman to curate a book box of some kind. Are you out listening subscription gods?

PA Anna

Rosario Dawson is to bill tomorrow according to Quarterly twitter and will have expedited shipping. Her box is still available so grab one while you can.

Will Wheaton’s box sounds interesting. I will buy an 80s box if that is his next box.

Who is he?

gcc

he’s also made a lot of guest appearances in the big bang theory

Wil Wheaton played Wesley Crusher in Star Trek: TNG. Before that he was a child actor notably in the great Stephen King novella adaptation Stand by Me.

But NOW he is more of a …. persona. He’s a proud geek and he has written several books (Just a Geek was one) and he has a hilarious blog and twitter feed and he guest stars on TV shows. He’s just hilarious. I’m not explaining it very well.

If you watch the big bang theory, he is Sheldon’s nemesis who became a friend.

Eva

This made me LOL! Not in a bad way, but in a “I’m so dated” way (born in ’76 here). I had the biggest crush on him in Star Trek: TNG. He was also in the movie “Stand By Me”.

I proudly lost “best new weblog” to Wil Wheaton in The (2nd Annual) Bloggies back in 2002. Life was all downhill from there. *wink*

Sara

Hm thanks, I’m still not positive who he is. But I never watched Star Trek and only saw Stand By Me when I was little, don’t remember it well. I’ve heard his name and everyone seems to know him, I don’t lol thanks!

Brooke

Oh my. I LOVE Wil Wheaton….. so tempted….

As soon as I saw Wil’s name I said “WHEAAATOOOONNN!!!” in my best impression of Sheldon, LOL

Pezzute

Definitely just read that in Sheldon’s voice, lol.
