My Subscription Addiction Quarterly Box Reveal #MSA01 Box

In my quest to constantly ask Quarterly for updates on this box, I have some updated info I wanted to share:

The #MSA02 packages are shipping FedEx ground.

All of the domestic packages will have shipped out by the end of the day today. (12/15)

The international packages should be out by Wednesday (12/17)

As you may already know from my updates on MSA02, or delays from other Quarterly boxes this month, things are down to the wire at Quarterly to make sure packages arrive in time for the 12/24 guaranteed delivery. This means that I wasn't able to preview this box before it shipped. (I've had all the items in the box in my possession for the past month, so I'm not worried about any item issues, but I didn't get to preview the packaging presentation).

(Of course with this tight time frame, even if I had feedback, it would be too late, so that's just the way it is!) Can you tell I'm super nervous? Anyway, I hope you like the box!

Hi Liz,

Are you planning to talk about the contents and background info on MSA02 any time soon? Looking forward to it when you have time.

Thanks!

I don’t know what I ever did without this blanket…

Liz,
ok, I confess, when I saw the socks on a spoiler I was…meh. When I received the box I though, well, they may work. But then this weekend I was so sick with a really bad cold and I was looking at staying comfortable. I reached out for the socks (still in the box) and OMG! They feel so good! I can’t never sleep with socks on because they drive me crazy, but this felt so good I didn’t want to take them off and they are so soft and comfy I can sleep with them (and they are now my fav!)!!!! So Liz, you box helped me feel better! Oh yes, and I also had the throw working for me while staying home resting. See, that shows that we needs to try things before we dismiss them!

Will the Fairbault co. Be offering a discount for MSA readers?

I would love to order another. My hubby and I love it and have been fighting over it.

After living with this box for a week or so, I’m happy to say that I’ve gotten lots of use out of every single thing in it. I love how easy it is to blend those eye shadows for a quick, easy, pulled together look. Regarding the other beauty item: getting to try a really expensive product in a sub box can be fun, but it’s also cool to find out which drugstore items work well, contain healthy ingredients, and have a good value for the price–I’ll take Liz’s recommendations seriously on that front, since she tries so many products every month. Overall, I’m very happy and feel like I got my money’s worth. Can’t wait for Box 3!

I agree with your comment on the beauty product. Something else no one is mentioning: the Tatcha in MSA01 was the big ticket item. We didn’t get a beautifully made throw like we did this time. You can’t have $65 skincare in a $50 big every time, nor would I want it. I enjoyed everything except the black item I got. I can’t wait for MSA03 either!

I received my shipping notification on the 15th, but my tracking still only says “label created.” Anyone else having this issue!?

I keep hearing that their is a thread about this box on MUT but i can’t find it. Anyone know how to find it? I personally love this box. Just wanted to see what the others were saying.

It’s mixed in with other Quarterly boxes on the Quarterly thread. Google makeup talk forum MSA quarterly spoilers and it’s mixed in with other Quarterly box talks near the end of the thread. RD spoilers are there too.

OK, stupid question du jour. I don’t usually wear cream eyeshadows. What’s the best way to apply – fingers? Brush? If the latter, is there a special type of brush that works best? Ty! 🙂

Tacie

I don’t have much experience with cream shadows either, but I did some Googling. It seems synthetic bristles are best for this type of shadow. Here’s a link that explains when to use natural and synthetic brushes and why: http://soniakashuk.com/makeup-mythbusters-natural-vs-synthetic-brushes/

Good question, I didn’t try cream shadows and I also wonder about it and some more. How about eyeliner? Can you apply it on top of this eyeshadows? Can we use primer under them? I have very oily eyelids so I think cream eyeshadows will not work for me, but I am willing to try.

Sad this will be my last MSA box as I am moving to europe in March…does quarterly ship to europe? I may have to check into that. While I did enjoy this box, not as much as the first one! I see why Liz likes to run through the packaging before it goes out. This definitely wasn’t packaged as nicely as the last box. I felt that everything was haphazardly thrown into the box. I received the baby pink socks and I ended up gifting those to my mother, she will love them…just not my color. I am over the moon about the throw, so very practical. I am in need of a new night cream since the last one I received from Beauty DNA had too many preservatives, and I know Liz is ingredient conscious. The only thing I wish is that there weren’t two eye shadows. I do love both colors but maybe one eyeshadow and a lip salve would have been nice for the winter months?

Maybe I was also a little bummed that the cap on my eyeshadow was broken! All in all, great value!

Got my box today and love it, Liz! I will use everything. Love the way the “little sparke” sparkles!

Hi Liz,

You knocked it out of the park with the MSA02! Loved everything! Keep up the fantastic work. 🙂 Happy Holidays!

I went on Quarterly today to sign back up for Liz’s MSA spring box. I received the first one, but not the second one. Remember you can sign up now and not worry about the waitlist because Quarterly doesn’t charge until shipping. This means you can be on the list for the box now and pay for it in March when it ships! Or sign up now and if the spoiler (if Liz is releasing one) for spring doesn’t suit you, drop it at that time without worrying about being billed. Don’t miss out!!!

I received my package today and I absolutely love the blanket! It’s on my lap as I type. I don’t find it scratchy & I have sensitive skin. What I really appreciate about the blanket is that it is an American made product, love it. I don’t usually use cream eye shadows but I am looking forward to trying them, I like the colors and I love that they are made without all the bad stuff. I like the necklace now that I see it in person, a great layering piece. I will be keeping everything in the box for me! Thank you Liz for this great box!

My two boxes arrived today and I am thrilled with your choices. From all the negative talk I was considering returning one but instead I will keep it for me and gift the contents of the other one. The blanket is indeed a bit scratchy but I think it’s not intended to be used next to the skin but over already winter bundled flesh. For me it’s perfect for using at my son’s hockey games and practices at the rink and the 2nd one will be a gift for my son to keep in his car. I’m in make up overload so I will gift those items as well as the fuzzies…perfect for stockings. Lastly the bling will be for my daughter and I. Great curation Liz, I can’t wait to see what you have in store for the next one.

This is the first box I’ve managed to get without seeing full spoilers prior to receiving it. I think the harsh comments are unwarranted. While it’s mostly not for me (I have trouble with cream shadows and wool makes me itchy) it fits the theme Liz created. I’m debating sending it back if anyone wants mine.

I too am torn about this box. I LOVE the throw and it was the deciding factor to subscribe after an interest in the first box. The fuzzy socks are going to be gifted. The necklace, however very pretty, is so tiny and I don’t see much value there. The eye shadows are ok but like said in another comment one would have been sufficient. I have no interest in the magazines. I like that subscription boxes are introducing me to all of these natural products so I will give it a try even though I have received a few face creams here lately. The curation is spot on and I’m happy with my purchase.

Got mine yesterday and LOVE IT Liz! Not that I am surprised – I have the socks on today under my boots and my feet are super warm. My husband ran off with the blanket (lol, what is happening?), the eye shadow is a brand that is new to me which is something, the necklace is stunning (and super delicate which is awesome) and I, for one, am happy to finally have a cream that if I can actually afford to keep buying. Well done Liz – thank you for caring enough about us and our money to put so much thought into this. Merry Christmas!

I got my box today, yay….BAD part is that it was missing the necklace..boooooo! It seems to me that there are quite a few people missing this item. I emailed them and am hopeful that they will send it soon. I haven’t got to dig into the box yet, but I’m looking forward to it later this evening!

This my first MSA box and I really love it! It must be extremely hard to try to put together a nice box that pleases so many people. I loved everything in it. Especially the dainty thing. Most of those nowadays are big and bulky and this one is such a nice touch. I’m under my blanket right now and feeling cozy. This is my new favorite box! Thanks Liz!

Hi Liz!
I got the box yesterday and love it! I love it all! However, after wearing my necklace for only one day, two of the little jewels popped off. I didn’t even shower with it! I contacted bauble bar- was that the right move? I hope that they can correct this 🙁 maybe I just got a bad necklace?

Reply ButtonReply

Liz Cadman

Oh no! Sorry to hear about that. I’ve been wearing mine for over a month now (showers and everything) with no issues, so it sounds like you received a defective piece. If Bauble Bar doesn’t send you a replacement let me know and I will take care of it.

I checked the tracking on my package today and it said it was delivered… It definitely was not! I called FedEx and they seemed to have “misplaced” it. I literally get 20 sub boxes a month and this is the first time this has happened. It sucks be I wanted to give the blanket to my boyfriend as a Christmas gift 🙁 I emailed quarterly to see what their policy is on lost/stolen packages? We shall see! Fingers crossed! I can’t wait to receive it though! Another great job Liz:)

So sorry to hear about that! If for any reason they can’t take care of it in time, please email me to let me know and I’ll try to help! ([email protected])

Thanks so much Liz! I have faith in them but I will let you know:) I appreciate the concern! You are amazing and I look forward to many more well curated MSA boxes 😉

I just got mine! I love EVERYTHING in it. Best $50 I’ve spent all holiday season. I can’t wait to see your unboxing.
