MSA02 Quarterly Box Shipping Update

My Subscription Addiction Quarterly Box Reveal #MSA01 Box

I just found out from Quarterly that they will start charging subscribers for MSA02 later this evening – meaning the box will ship within the next few business days. (Finally!) (If you are new to Quarterly, they don’t charge you for the box at time of purchase, but instead right before they ship the boxes).

I’ll update this post if I learn any more specifics, but wanted to share as soon as I had info! (Thanks for your patience on this box, and sorry again!)

  3. Finally received tracking info– I was starting to worry. Now the big dilemma– open when it arrives, or save for Christmas?

    Hey, Liz– it sure would be really cool if we could do unboxing parties together in the future (like the unboxing videos on YouTube). πŸ™‚

    • How did I not know about unboxing parties?! That sounds awesome.

      • I was thinking that you could make a video of you unboxing the MSA Quarterly boxes, and telling us about the products, what inspired you to add them to the box, tips on your favorite ways to use them, and even any behind-the-scenes stories about preparing that box for shipment. I think we would all love this, and it would be so much fun!!

  5. Has anyone else been charged but received no shipping information yet?

    • Me. They charged me on Friday and I have received nothing from them since then.

    • Me! I’m still waiting for tracking! I was charged Friday at 3am.

    • I was charged Friday as well and have not recieved any shipping info

    • Yes! They charged me and emailed me that they would send me shipping info later on. But fri and sat passed and still no ship info.. :/

    • I was also charged on Friday morning at 1:00 a.m. and I have not receiving an email telling me my box has shipped. I emailed Quarterly yesterday but have not received a response.

      • Glad I don’t seem like the only person. Hopefully it gets here prior to the 24th. My plan was to wrap it for myself and unwrap Christmas Day. It really throws my parents for a loop because they say, “You bought something for yourself and you don’t know what’s in it?” Lol. I contacted PSMH bc they still haven’t shipped the Dec boxes and the holiday for her is estimating 12/26 delivery. So, beings that both are guaranteed…if they don’t arrive, I’d love to know what they plan.

        Liz- are you going to likely post a reveal with info after Christmas? I’m just trying to gauge if I need to avoid this place for the next 12 days. Lol!

        • Same here. I reached out via FB and they said “by Monday if not already” and I still don’t have it……

          • Someone on MUT posted that their MSA box arrived today. Hope everyone receives theirs soon.

    • I got notice of charge on Friday as well, no shipping info yet but if it’s coming from WI, I won’t worry with it making to me in Chicago next week.

    • Same as all you guys. Was charged fri at 1am and still no shipping notification. Really hope it makes it here before Christmas, but I’m still excited to get it either way πŸ˜‰ glad to see others are in a similar situation.

    • Was charged on 12/12/14 but no shipping email yet. Hopefully we will get our shipping notice soon.

    • Quarterly used to take a week to ship out tracking numbers. It seems since they switched to the WI hub that the tracking numbers arrive in the email in a couple of days. I had them showed up 2 different ways -either from Quarterly or a strange email about something being tendered to FedEx.

      Enjoy your boxes! I keep going back and forth on this box and cancelled it a 3rd time the day before they started billing. Looking forward to spring’s box.

    • Yes, same boat. I was charged on Friday for MSA02 and on Saturday for Design Sponge–no shipping email for either one. I’m a bit nervous as I changed the shipping address to my parent’s house so I would hopefully have something to open on Christmas. Now I’m afraid it will get sucked into some kind of shipping black hole and not arrive until after I’ve left.

    • Me, too. I was charged the evening Liz posted and have received no shipping info. I just logged into my account and it still just says “ready”. And was told last week by customer service that the Rosario box would ship this week. Not holding my breath.

      • Thanks! I will let you know my thoughts. πŸ™‚ It’s coming from Wisconsin, too, and I’m in Iowa. I imagine it might arrive before I head “home” for Christmas (which is Wisconsin – ha!).

Have any of you guys had issues with them billing your card my card keeps getting declined or it will say failed I called the bank three times this am about it and I thought it was for fraud protection they told me it wasn’t quarterly still can bill my card I e emailed them a bazillion times but no one has gotten back to me yet I don’t want to miss out on this πŸ™

    • Hi Natalie,

      That happened with my card too. They emailed me last night that it was declined but then emailed again this am and told me it was processed, they would ship some time this evening. I’m sure your order will go through the 2nd time around as it did for me, its def somethig on their end I think.

      • The weird thing is the bank can see they are trying to take out the money I wish they had a phone number where I could call and talk to someone

  13. I’m thinking about canceling the Rosario box. One of the reasons I signed up was so that I would have some presents for Christmas. Well, by now I have everything I need and extras. I’m sure the box will be great and have a huge value, but $50 for stuff I don’t need is a lot…

  16. WOOHOO!!!! I got billed last night πŸ™‚ Boooo… it will most likely not be here by next Friday when I leave to spend Christmas with my sister. I was going to put this box under the tree from Santa to me. because it’s the only box I get that I never know everything in it before I get it! lol Oh well… I was looking forward to that throw for my trip. Maybe I will get lucky. I have never gotten a box that fast from them… but with a little Christmas magic and luck…. maybe just maybe I will be able to put this under my tree!   18. I was charged this morning – YAY! Any update from Quarterly on when Rosario Dawson’s box will ship?

    • This rosario situation is really making me angry. I don’t mind later shipping etc when there is communication, like with MSA, but the lack of communication in regards to the Rosario box is ridiculous.

      I literally only bought the box because of the advent calender theme. I liked the idea of one item to open every day in December. I don’t feel that you can advertise that and then not ship until the third week of December. I didn’t even know who Rosario was before I subscribed.

      Ive emailed them twice now and both times it’s this generic email back saying “We will begin shipping soon!” They actually specifically told me in the first email that they would begin charging at the end of the week on the week of Thanksgiving. I thought, thats odd that they would charge for boxes on black friday but at least theyll be here by December. And it’s been 3 weeks today since then. I’m dangerously close to just cancelling.

      • I ordered for the exact same reason Sara. I cancelled, just too much with the constant changes and delays. Liz’s box is the only quarterly box I will ever get again because she is so honest and I know the lateness will never affect the quality – it’s nice having a curator you can trust with your money!

        • Totally agree that trust is #1 when it comes to good customer service!

      • I ordered for the same reason. I do advent calendars for both of my daughters and I thought it would be fun for me to reach into the box each day and pull out a treat for myself too. Great idea! It’s really a huge shame that they couldn’t figure out how to make that happen because I already cancelled my box. I don’t regret canceling it at all since it STILL hasn’t shipped.

        I think Quarterly needs to rename themselves to Randomly.

        • I contacted them with a complaint about the shipping time of the Rosario box, and they said the Advent calendar theme wasn’t so much as meant to be an advent calendar, it was just going to have as many gifts as an Advent calendar has days. Nonsense.

      • I also ordered it because it was advent themed and I wanted to open a gift every day of December. I waited a few days after they delayed it and finally cancelled when it became clear to me that it wasn’t going to arrive AT ALL before Christmas.

        I’m disgusted with the way they communicate (or don’t communicate) to their customers. It’s a crummy way to do business and they don’t deserve my money.

      • They charged me this morning so hopefully it will arrive soon? If that comes on the same day as the MSA box it would awesome!

    • I hope you like it. I’ve been so stressed about shipping times for the past month and a half that I haven’t spent as much time being stressed on whether or not everyone will like the box. Now that it is finally shipping I can start worrying about that!;)

  26. There’s an easy way to tell if a Quarterly box is close to billing and shipping. Use the curator button at the top and then click on shipping soon. At the moment, MSA is third on the list for shipping soon, after Timothy Ferriss and Food Box. The list is updated regularly and is a good indicator.

    • I am new to Quarterly and had no idea this feature existed. Thank you!

  27. Quarterly has really rubbed me the wrong way lately with all the delays and absolutely zero communication to their customers about it. I think I’m done with them for a while after this box. And I am not blaming Liz at all. This is directed at Quarterly the company.

    • I agree. I budgeted for this box a month ago, not in Dec. I ended up cancelling the other 2 boxes I was subbed to after they were delayed repeatedly, by up to 2 months. The complete lack of communication is just icing on a bitter cake for me.

      • This is exactly how I feel. I had two quarterly subscriptions and budgeted for them almost 6 weeks ago. It’s hard keeping an extra $100 in the bank account this close to Christmas.

        • Especially bothersome since I planned to use some of the items as Christmas gifts. I had to go ahead and finish my shopping since the events were clearly happening before the box could be delivered. I couldn’t take the chance and wait for it to arrive. So I basically spent $50 extra in Dec for items I already bought. Quarterly may be the worst sub company with nonexistent communication, a lack of transparency and very, very untimely delivery.

    • Dealing with them the last few months has been very different. It seems like that have too much going on. The detail to customer service is now lacking. After having a number of issues and have to go round and round with them… I think I am going to drop most if not all my boxes I am getting from them. At least for awhile.

I am sure it is very frustrating for the curators for Quarterly as the delayed shipping can change boxes sold and the majority of people feel very personal about the people purchasing their boxes. Liz, I know that if you had total control your box would have shipped already. Thank you in advance as I know your box will be worth waiting for.

  32. So once it ships, what’s the usual wait time? I mean to say what courier do they use…I.e usps, FedEx, or ups? Standard of priority? I’m so excited to get my box and my birthday is next week, so it’d be great to get it on my birthday πŸ™‚

    • Quarterly typically uses FedEx Smart Post – which means Fedex carries it to your local post office, and then USPS delivers it. I would assume they will still be using that method, but if I find out otherwise I will let you know! Fingers crossed for a birthday arrival πŸ™‚

      • I think that they are starting the expedite the boxes. I have one that shipped today and it looks like FedEx is delivering it, instead of the normal Smart Post.

        • How can you tell any shipping information? My quarterly account shows only that I’ve been invoiced. There’s no shipping info and I haven’t received any tracking emails for any of the boxes I’ve received so far from Quarterly.

    Had to cancel mine because since I live in HI, Quarterly responded to my email saying that they will NOT guarantee delivery by Christmas. Last time I check HI was indeed a US location. But oh well. On the bright side my cancelling allowed someone else to snatch up this box so all is good. πŸ™‚

    • Same,every week I got a different response about billing date and shipping date. Remember them saying all boxes would be shipping in November…

    • I did too. It’s unfortunate because I’d like to support Liz and I want the box, but Quarterly can’t get their act together and I was SO upset about the Rosario box and the way they responded to people who were upset that I can’t bring myself to give them any money.
