Building the #MSA01 Box – JustFab

MSA Quarterly Box Ships Thursday + Updates

In addition to the items in the first MSA01 box, I was also excited to get a great JustFab coupon in the box!

I first tried out JustFab last year, and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of their shoes especially considering the $39.95 price point! Then a few readers let me know their bags and jeans were impressive too, and I quickly got hooked. (Then I got started on Fabletics, and FabKids!)

When I was building the first MSA Quarterly box, the theme was fall, and one thing I love about fall is getting new boots! Since I couldn’t exactly send those in a box, I thought an offer to get your first pair for less than $10 was the next best thing. (And JustFab offers wide calf options too!) I reached out to JustFab and they were excited to participate and send unique 75% off coupon codes to all subscribers.

If you haven’t used your JustFab 75% off coupon yet, just a reminder – it expires on the 15th. (FYI – you have to sign up for a VIP subscription to get the offer). Also, if you aren’t familiar with this subscription service, each month you get charged $39.95 and get to pick out any item available. You also can skip any month before the 5th of the month and you won’t be charged.

Here are some of my favorite items from October if you’re looking for suggestions:


JF Sammy Bootie – Cost $39.95

These boots have about a one inch heel and a faux suede exterior with a faux shearling interior.


I will be pairing these with black leggings throughout the fall/winter! And I love that you can fold them down to reveal the shearling for a different look.


JF Collegiate Bag- Cost $39.95

When it comes to faux leather/suede I tend to always go with black since I think it looks just as good as the real thing. And I love gold hardware so this purse was an easy pick for me.


It has a striped lining with a zippered pocket.


And the most important thing – it comfortably fits over my shoulder


JF Ingrid Fit and Flare Dress in Burgundy – Cost $44.95

This is my first time trying out their dress collection and I am in love with this dress! It’s made with a sweater material, but it’s not bulky at all. The fit-and-flare shape is so flattering too. (FYI – as far as sizing goes, I’m normally a large in Forever21, and a large in this dress fit perfectly. It’s available in sizes XS-XXL. If you’re debating between sizes I’d say go up a size).

  1. Has anyone had trouble canceling Just Fab? Originally, I had no problems using my offer and even ordered jeans and jewelry for my daughter in addition to boots. She loved all the items for the price we paid. They even exchanged the original boots for a different size, without any problems. But now, I’ve tried to cancel twice today and they hung up on me on my first call after I tried to cancel and on the second call they told me their system is down and both times are pretty evasive. So I can’t get them to let me cancel. I’ve read some reviews complaining about not being able to cancel so I’m feeling worried about this now… Unfortunately, the only way to cancel is by phone. Anyone have any insight or experience with how to actually get them to let you cancel?

  2. I ordered my boots on October 7th and received a “Your order will be processed shortly” email. I haven’t heard a thing since. It’s been eight days and you’d think I’d get a shipping confirmation of some sort. Anyone else having any complications?

      I had the same thing – for some reason no shipping email but when I logged into my account my tracking info. was there. Hope this helps!

      • Thank you for the advice. I checked and it said…cancelled! I emailed JustFab tonight so we’ll see what they say. If I entered my information incorrect or something didn’t go through, wouldn’t most companies reach out to let you know?

    • In general, JustFab takes a couple of days to ship after you place your order. (Intervening weekends/holidays make things take longer.) Then they usually send items by SmartPost which is the USPS FedEx hybrid and kind of slow.

      However, it sounds like there may be a problem with yours. If you got the first e-mail, you are set up to receive their e-mails and you should have gotten a shipping e-mail by now. And I have never logged in and seen “canceled” before.

      The one time I tried to contact their customer service (by e-mail), they did get back to me within a day or two. Good luck.

  3. Just an FYI to folks – even though the cards state 75% off plus free shipping (with no minimum stated), the site was still trying to charge me shipping on my $9.99 order. I had to call their customer service to get them to manually remove the $4.95 shipping. It was a little bit of hassle, but make sure to call if you run into this problem, too.

  4. I tried to redeem my code and it wouldn’t let me. I called and spoke with customer service and they were entirely unhelpful. I cancelled the order. If they are so difficult when trying to get a customer, I can’t imagine they will be helpful if I ever have any troubles.

  5. I’m pretty disappointed. I just tried to use my code on a pair of boots and it told me that the “code has already been redeemed”. :/ What do I do??

    • Okay, nevermind. I actually got a better deal with the BOGO thing they have going now. I got a pair of the luxe boots (Barnes) and a pair of flats (Bettine) for $39.90. 🙂 I am satisfied with that.

  6. With my coupon code and a credit for signing up, I got a fabulous pair of boots (and they go perfectly with the scarf I got in the box) and a necklace for under $5.00!!! Thank you so much for such a fabulous deal!!!!

  7. My code didn’t work. It said it had already been redeemed and the company refused to issue me a new code to use online. They said I would have to call to place an order and explain the situation. However, I had already swapped the code to someone when we found out it wasn’t working. The situation created quite a hassle for me and the poor person I swapped it to. 🙁 Bummer!

  8. Hi, I’m confused with my account & I hope someone can help. I signed up yesterday with the MSA quarterly box coupon and bought a pair of boots plus more…and it was october obviously. Today I received an email telling me to pick a pair of boots from my boutique or “skip”, but if I skip I think I’m still charged the $39.95 but get the credit in my account? I already bought a pair of boots in October (yesterday) and am not sure I will continue until I get my order and see if I’d like to continue. I assumed the next month of the ‘subscription’ wouldn’t be until November and I would have time to cancel. I’m so upset!
    Has this happened to everyone?

    • When you skip the month, you are not charged anything. Not sure why that showed up on your account so early–could be a super early reminder for November–but you always have the option to skip the month by the 5th of the month and you won’t be charged. If an extra charge went through, you can always call member services and they will help you out and get things squared away.

      • I’m not sure either, but wI logged in after getting the email and it says my October ’boutique’ is ready and to pick something.

        • I know this response is coming kind of late. But what I always do is skip the month. I may buy something that month (even before the 5th) but I skip every time, just to make sure I’m not charged unexpectedly.

          I don’t find the boutiques very useful; they keep giving me boots even though I always wear long pants and even though I select pumps and sandals of various sorts when they ask why I skipped.

          I find their early e-mails, like just after you sign up, confusing. They sent me e-mail reminders to skip after I had skipped, etc. I usually don’t pay attention to their e-mails. I wait for Liz’s “pick or skip” post and head on over to click “skip.” If it says “you’ve skipped,” you’re good, even though you might get an e-mail to the contrary, especially if you’ve just signed up. (They don’t send you an e-mail confirmation that you’ve skipped, by the way.)

  9. I got my boots and I love them. I went with Karuna, its a military style black boot with a really cute zipper detail. I was fully planning on having to exchange them (online shoe orders rarely work out for me. I am super picky about fit & style)….but these worked out great and fit true to size. I am definitely keeping these and may get another pair of shoes next month. I am impressed with this sub.

  12. I’m an existing Just Fab VIP member (have been for a few years). The code didn’t work for me since it wouldn’t be my first purchase. Just FYI.

  13. Anyone know how easy it is to cancel? I’m hesitant to use my coupon cause it looks like it takes a phone call, there is no Web link to cancel.

    • I don’t have experience with canceling with JustFab, but they probably share the same customer experience as their Fabletics site. It was such a hassle to cancel. They kept trying to keep me from canceling and asked me why I was canceling and how they can keep me, offering me more points to stay some more. Took longer than necessary.

  14. Thanks for the reminder! I went with the “Lovesome” handbag in black because I have been looking for a new bag for work. I almost went with that Ingrid dress but, put it on my wishlist because its handwash only and I don’t know if I want to keep up with a special care item. I’m hoping they add more styles for flat ankle boots…my Fall wardrobe really needs some!

  15. I like that dress. Sometimes I feel like you have to scour their site to find a dress suitable for the over-35 crowd, of which I am a part — too many short and skimpy things — and/or heels in a reasonable (i.e., not 5 inches) height. But when I *do* find things I like on their site (so far shoes and bags, for me), I find the quality to be good, especially for the price.

I just ordered those same cute boots in black, a pair of black skinny jeans on clearance, three pairs of earrings (all for my teen daughter), received a free 1 year subscription to Eating Well Magazine (a $20 value) …all for $29.89 after the MSA box coupon!     Just wanted to let you know that the Just Fab coupon is only good for U.S. customers. Since I am in Canada I can’t use it. I am not complaining, just wanted to give you a heads up in case you were planning to sneak another coupon in to your next box.

    • Thanks Laura. With any coupon code in the box if it doesn’t work worldwide I won’t count it toward the value of the box, but of course when possible I will also try to find coupons/deals that work for everyone! 🙂
