Mantry Food Subscription Box Review & $25 Coupon - July 2014 Info

Each box comes with a fold out card detailing each of the producers behind the food included and where they come from.

Mantry Food Subscription Box Review & $25 Coupon - July 2014 Jerky

Olo's All Natural Chipotle Paste  - Value $9

Three Jerks The Original Filet Mignon Beef Jerky - Value $15

This chipotle paste will come in handy for lots of recipes - I might even try adding a little to my next omelet! And my husband could not stop raving about this jerky - it's one of his favorite items ever from a subscription box!

Mantry Food Subscription Box Review & $25 Coupon - July 2014 BBQ

Maya Kaimal Butter Masala Indian Simmer Sauce - Value $7

We Rub You Original Korean BBQ Marinade - Value $8

I'm not sure exactly why, but for some reason we have a ton of BBQ sauces thanks to subscription boxes! This Korean BBQ Marinade is a little different though - we'll have to give it a try soon!

Mantry Food Subscription Box Review & $25 Coupon - July 2014 Tea

Steven Smith Teamaker Big Hibiscus Tea - Value $12

I drink so much tea, and I'm always excited to try a new flavor (which I get to do a lot thanks to subscription boxes!). This herbal tea has a little tartness to it, so it would probably need a little sweetener of some kind. I tried it hot, but Mantry also recommends using it with honey for iced tea.

Mantry Food Subscription Box Review & $25 Coupon - July 2014 ookies

Grey Ghost Bakery Cinnamon Pecan Cookies - Value $12

These cookies were another hit with my husband - he loves pecan-anything!

Verdict: This month's box has a food retail-value of about $63. It's less than the $75 price-point, but if you factor in the packaging and the curation it may be a good box for you or as a gift. We've discovered some of our favorite food items from this subscription, and I already know we'll be ordering more jerky really soon!

What did you think of the July Mantry?

I appreciate these reviews, even though I do get Mantry. It’s a great subscription in that I am getting exposed to a lot of new things. Many of these subscription services seem to give you more than what you paid for, but Mantry appears to give you about exactly what you pay for, when considering the crate itself and shipping. I’ve had this sub for 3 months now and each crate is put to good use so for that, I’m sticking with it.

Should also mention, I had that marsala jar break open and get all over everything. The Mantry guys took care of me. Good guys!

Tea bags? Seriously? Most men I’ve ever known only drink sweet tea that’s already made for them by the gallon in the fridge. I’ve never seen any guy drink a single cup of tea, especially one that’s flavored with flowers or fruits.

Sneaky Burrito

I know a guy who drinks tea all the time by the single cup, both herbal and black/white/green/oolong. And never orders sweet tea (only “unsweet” — and yes, you have to specify this in the South) in restaurants.

On the other hand, I have never met a guy who would have the least bit of interest in Birchbox Man…

My husband has no interest in Birchbox Man. My 15 year old son received his first box and now his friends want to try it. My teen sees it as a way to try out better stuff and using lifestyle products as gifts.

Mantry doesn’t appeal to me. I can see how it appeals to others because it does provide a variety of food in a manly container.

Thought I wanted to try this box, until I saw the price! Are they kidding themselves? If Mantry reads, or cares, they could have many new customers if they cut their price in half! I won’t buy a box that only scrapes in barely at or under the price I pay for it, as I have yet to receive any type of box (except Wantable Intimates, and they offer a $ back guarantee!) that I loved and used all items included, so they value has to be spectacular as I know I’ll be lucky to find 1 or 2 items I love out of the 5+ items included in the box!

This is an expensive subscription but we’ve tried so many new things with inspiration from Mantry. We even had an Indian food party which was a huge hit!

Great box! If it weren’t so expensive I’d love to give it a try. I definitely prefer it to the Fancy food boxes I’ve seen and received.
