I’m sold! I haven’t gotten a food centric box for our family yet (just given as gifts to others). I’m glad you pointed out that it IS a subscription so folks need to understand that. I’m always shocked to see folks complaining when they get charged the next month after getting a freebie month. I guess people think companies are in business just to give away their products, lol.

I never understood the complaints about boxes, either. Granted, I found pretty much everything I subscribe to through this site, and Liz makes it clear that there is a monthly (or quarterly, or whatever) fee. I am wondering if there are some blogs out there that promote, say, the “free” intro Julep box without getting into specifics of how it works.

I think that is what happened with Swagbucks and Julep. I don’t do much with swagbucks because I don’t have the time that is needed to earn giftcards quickly. Swagbucks posted that you could earn x amount of Swagbucks with a free Julep box. I read it quickly because I recognized Julep from this website and was curious how Swagbucks presented the offer. I felt that it was unclear that it was a subscription that would continue after the free box. A lot of people were surprised and upset which resulted in a lot of cancellations a month or so again.
