Inside are details on the items included.

Loot Crate Review & Coupon Code - August 2014 Groot

POP Vinyl Groot (Glow in the Dark Loot Crate Exclusive) – Value $11

Kidrobot Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Ooze Action Figure in Raphael – value $10

My husband is a huge Marvel and TMNT fan so these figures made his day! (I think he’s currently trying to swap for the other turtles). Both these figures glow in the dark, and I really like that they are both new/exclusive releases.

We also have the regular Groot from My Geeky Goodies, so here is a side-by-side so you can see the differences of the regular version and the Loot Crate exclusive:

I was happy to see that they look different besides just one glowing in the dark!

Loot Crate Review & Coupon Code - August 2014 Glasses

TMNT Sunglasses – Value $4?

Loot Crate Pin & Magnet – Value $1?

I couldn’t find these sunglasses online, so I’m guessing on the value. (If you want to see tons of pictures of people wearing them just search #lootcrate on instagram!)

Loot Crate Review & Coupon Code - August 2014 Sonic

Sonic Breeze Air Freshener – Value $4

Shwings Shoe Lightening Bolts – Value $8

These Shwings lightening bolts are fun! They are going in my cousins gift pile!

Loot Crate Review & Coupon Code - August 2014 Digital

This box also came with a Digital Content card. It includes 3 unique codes for games: Doctor Who: Legacy, Defense Grid: The Awakening, and an exclusive in-game helm – Mask of the Wyrm Slayer for Gauntlet. – Value $12?

Verdict: This box was a hit in house this month thanks to TMNT and Groot! The value of the box is good too – about $50 counting the digital content! What did you think of Loot Crate this month?

  1. Loot Crate is having a surplus crate sale. Unfortunately the one with the Zelda shirt is sold out 🙁 There are two other crates still available. Go to their website and look around shop. I did order my teenager another Villian crate because he has a stain on his Joki shirt and can never have enough Dead Pool socks.

  2. If you’re into Funko Pop’s that groot is valued at least minimum $30 right now to the collectors 🙂

    Great Review by the way!

  3. I am sooo jealous that you got Raphael! He is my favorite. I got Donatello. I need someone to trade with me!

  4. I love the August crate, however, I’m having difficulty figuring out where to put the Defense Grid code on Steam. Any tips, I’m sure I’m missing something clear as day.

    • click on the Games tab in the steam client, then choose “Activate a product on steam…”, just enter your key and press next until it is activated.

  5. Phew, glad I cancelled in time! Not a thing in that box that I need.

    • Agreed and has anyone noticed that the Sonic air freshner is a repeat? They put it in the July 2013 box. Also they’ve already done TMNT in the past.

  6. I buy this box for my older son who is 15. He loves the inside of the box which is a drawing of the TMNT lair. His favorite items in this box are Groot and the magnet. He is a big Dead Pool fan and is excited to see Dead Pool included in both the villains and heroes boxes.

  7. I’m the one who was excited to get Groot in my sons Loot Crate! He got the purple sunglasses to go with the Donatello TMNT action figure he received. Did you notice that the box is for the action figure, the “rug” on the side of the box flips up into a couch!

I love the Shwings even if they are gold, my son thinks they are hilarious. I’m wondering if he, 15 almost 16, will actually wear them! Maybe Halloween?

  8. I loved this box! I’m super happy that they put Groot in there and I live me some tmnt too! I need some new hightop converse to put the wings on lol

  9. so excited! ive sent this box to my boyfriend as a gift, and i was like “omg i hope the pop vinyl is groot” he has no idea it’s coming, he loves tnmt. i might try to get groot from him. we shall see!
