Fortune Cookie Soap Box Subscription Review - Fall

The Fortune Cookie Soap Box is a quarterly subscription from Fortune Cookie Soap. Each season you get to sample a range of products and scents from their line. A few readers have told me great things about this box, so I had to subscribe.

Fortune Cookie Soap Box Subscription Review - Fall 2014 Sanitizer

Witch Please OCD Hand Sanitizer in Roy G. Biv

Personal Space Air Freshener in Flying Monkeys

The Shiz Perfume Oil

I'm including a quarter in some of these photos to show scale since a few of these samples are super small. I also can't do value estimates since these items aren't labeled in size, and neither are the full size versions on their site.

Out of all these scents, so far the perfume oil is my favorite - its a nice woodsy scent.

Fortune Cookie Soap Box Subscription Review - Fall 2014 Soap

There's No Place Like Home Fortune Cookie Soap - Value $3

Miss Popular Bubble Bath Powder

This soap smells like apples and cinnamon - definitely what you would expect from a fall box.

Fortune Cookie Soap Box Subscription Review - Fall 2014 Witch

BFF's Whipped Cream

Swankified Walnut Facial Scrub

Hair Flip Hail Oil

I think these are my favorite three scents in the box. The BFF cream is an interesting mix of blueberries and pumpkin.

Verdict: I think this is a great box if you want to try out new Fortune Cookie Soap products and scents. You get to sample 8 products and get a $10 off code, so the box is really only $10 if you plan on using the code. (And even though I couldn't do a value breakdown on these samples I think it's safe to say they are worth at least $10).

I'm allergic to FD&C Red No. 40, so this box is a bit more of a challenge for me. Since these are all pre-release products, I can't find the specific ingredient lists on the site, and some products like the perfume oil don't list ingredients at all. And the ingredient lists that are provided are general for categories and just list "Colors" without providing which specific colors were used.  (I thought cosmetic companies had to list out specific colors, but I could be wrong). Anyway, I know I'm in a very small minority when it comes to this concern, so I think this box will work for most people! (I emailed Fortune Cookie Soap to see if they could send me a specific ingredient list for each item in the box - I'll update if I hear back).

Did you get the Fall Fortune Cookie Soap Box? What were your favorite products?

Now that there are other reviewers…I think this subscription would be fun to see reviews.

This is a pre release of the fall items so they will be available for full size purchase on the 29 th of Aug. My box did say ingredients for sample size are available on web sight although I have not looked. I received the wicked good scent in the whipped cream and it is to die for . It kinda smells like pies baking at thanksgiving time . The smell you get when baking a fruit pie and a pumpkin pie all at the same time. I am in love with this scent.

Gosh- seems like everyone has gotten theirs already. Kind of annoying, I live 4 hours away from them and I’m still waiting. Looks super cute- can’t wait to try everything!

My daughter is also allergic to red dyes, so it’s more of a concern than you might think. I wish all companies would go to all natural dyes or dye free products.

I so wish I’d gotten this. I’ll happily buy this box from anyone who might like to sell theirs! Let me know 🙂

I’d be willing to sell mine. I forgot to cancel 🙁 I haven’t used anything, but I threw out the green shredded paper packing material. Let me know! [email protected]

I’ll sell mine for $17.50 and shipping is on me! And I am currently clearing out samples from my other subscriptions, so I will include some “extras” as well 🙂

I hated every single scent in this box except the personal space. This was a total dud for me. It smells like the Halloween scents that Bath and Body Works sells which I also can’t stand.

I don’t like that they don’t have ingredients listed either. I wonder if they do on full sizes…..surely they must. I think this is cute and I will probably keep it for at least one more shipment.
I got the Green in the New Black scent in the body cream and it smells like pumpkin mixed with something else…definitely not something I want to put on or ever want in a body cream scent.
My favorite scent is the tiny bottle of perfume oil. Although I like the soap scent, I tried to use the soap today in the shower and it wouldn’t lather up……I guess if I tried for a few more minutes it might have. I would never use the scrub on my face but will use on the back of my hands and around cuticles.
imo the bath stuff really isn’t enough.
I like the hand sanitizer idea though.

I like the idea of this sub BUT it seems shady that they don’t specify ingredients which leads me to believe there could potentially be a lot of crappy fillers and ingredients.

I really wish I had signed up for this box! If anyone wants to sell it let me know. I can’t find the line on their site. Does anyone know if they will sell the witch please products individually?

I was definitely expecting more fall like scents in this, it seemed more floral-y and fresh – not bad, just not what I was expecting! I loved the smell of the soap itself, the apple scent was definitely my favorite!

My 7 yr old daughter thought this box was amazing. I loved the body cream texture, it was my favorite scent in the box. We will be using our code to purchase the full size cream. I wished they made that scent in a burning oil for the home.
The products are so small, but we loved the theme. We enjoyed most of the smells. I did not enjoy the strong smell of the fortune cookie soap, but my daughter did.
