Okay guys! I received my box and cancelled. I received 2 foil packets that are conditioner you can get for free. Toe seperators. Nail polish, tiny 0.5 acne treatment and nicka k eye crayon. The nail polish I found online $1.99 eye crayon $2-3 and the other items. It is really valued at $8-10 box but I wouldn’t pay $5 for this dollar store junk.

Now I really do not like to complain but was terribly disaapointed. I will sign back up when I see a good sample or full size item.

This month will be my first box, and I am so far really excited! I am obsessed with nail polish (i paint my nail four times a week at minimum) and while I’m not really an eyeshadow person, when I do use it I prefer a crayon. Also it looks like you could use it as a funky eyeliner, which I am all about! But between the yearly subscription plus the free August box, my grand total is like 7.80 per box. They could send me nothing but drugstore brands and I wouldn’t be able to complain! And I like the variation of colors, since a lot of boxes seem to cater more towards the snow white types, with strictly light skintone friendly colors or products. For me, gold is a neutral, and will be most welcome amongst my greens and purples.

I *am* one of the snow white types, but I like to use color. (On the other hand, the highlighters from Sample Society and Glossybox have been the same color as or else too dark for my skin.)

How do you keep your nails in good shape, painting them 4x a week? I was doing twice a week and they started splitting from acetone-based removers, so if there is a product you use that helps, I would love to know.

I’ve found that drugstore brand nail polish removers work best for me. I’ve tried the fancy ones that promise no smell or taste or weird white residue, but I always go back to my generic nourishing remover. It still smells awful, and it’s not the most powerful remover, but it gets the job done, is super cheap, and doesn’t leave my fingers all funky looking. Between that and my julep cuticle oil my nails stay pretty healthy!

I like that BB5 carries full size items but there hasn’t been many products I liked in 3 months. I can’t even remember what all I’ve received but I don’t think more then one item has been used. Both spoilers as I have researched online is about $1.99. It’s not terrible and I think the shadow stick may be useful if I got a decent shade but I’m doubting the fingernail polish will since I have a ton. I did get about $50 in items with my last box. The best box to date but didn’t like but maybe one item.

Plus it’s too much product to accumulate that I won’t ever use. It least with the samples, I’m not getting a ton of stuff and I usually find an item I love. With the full size boxes Blush Beauty Mystery Box and Boxycharm it’s more but I usually find a few items I love and the value is amazing.

They do have good customer service so it’s good to give them a good 3 months and see if it’s right for you. I have received a fingernail polish in every box from them and I know that they will all never get used. I doubt next month they will have fingernail polish as they usually don’t every month and if the spoilers are good I’ll rejoin.

Of all six shades of eye crayon, I’ll end up with the gold – aka the ONE I really don’t want. Fingers crossed to the BB5 gods that I’ll get the purple though :]

I have like BB5 so fa r. I have a 3 month membership & they sent me the wrong month. They caught it before I did, emailed me, let me know that they would not charge me, & also sent me the correct month’s box. True, I was a bit weirded out this month w/ the hair conditioning product in another language, but I was able to find some info elsewhere. Overall, I like BB5. Hopefully, I don’t get yellow or gold! Then its ging up for swaps!

I couldn’t find the ingredient list for the eye crayon, so not sure if I feel comfortable using it on my sensitive skin…not really excited about either of the spoilers, will likely cancel after this month and stick to the more ingredient-conscious boxes.

I like the eye crayons, I have enough nail polish and pray I don’t get the yellow one. Did anyone else get an email for a special edition box for $200 valued over $400 worth of products? And did anyone get it?

Tami

I got the email and think they’re crazy! For $200 I need a list of products ahead of time like Allure does. BB5 is just so iffy every month that I’m terrified to go for this one.

Brooke

Totally agree. I want everything listed for $200, and it would also have to include a pony.

Naturally, I will end up with the yellow nail polish…

Actually, my chances are pretty good that I’ll get something I like if there are 18 different shades. I got some black and white confetti stuff in the last box and I really liked it (and much preferred it to some of the others I saw online).

I like most of the eye crayon shades, too. Not sure the gold one will look good on me, but I’d be happy with any of the others.
