  1. I loved the summer box and will definetely try to snag this one as well. I dye my hair a lot, so I’m really looking forward to the John Freida hair stuff for colored hair. Where do I swap items at? There are a few products I won’t be using, and I’ve read that a lot of people swap the items they have no use for, so can somebody please help me out?
I’m disappointed that there are no high end items in this box. For the summer box, they had a BB IT cream which is so amazing and also the Tarte mascara is great!

  2. The link is working now and shows and update to one item, as well as saying that the box is now limited to one box per household! w00t!

  3. Wow! I’m going to try my hardest to get a box, I’m blown away that so many people are unhappy about the contents. I absolutely LOVE hair products (maybe that’s because I’m a cosmetologist) and if I can’t use something I’ll bet my bottom I know someone that can… BAM! STOCKING STUFFERS!!
    Good luck, y’all!

    • the only professional product in this box is the redken blonde idol stuff , i think people dont think it because its all drug store brands

      • I’m aware of that, I wouldn’t use drugstore brand on clients. But they’re fine for me or my sister, mom, and grandmother… they certainly don’t mind. I don’t shy away from a product just because it isn’t sold at my supply stores. I’ve ran across many lovely products just because I had to pick something up at the grocery store in a hurry. 🙂

  4. I got the summer box and loved it. I can’t wait to try and get this one. I am so happy they are having less hair products too.

  5. I will be trying to snag one of these Beauty Boxes!

    Great products, good luck friends:-)

  6. Wash, rinse, repeat. The Allure beauty box is always pretty much the same brands, very heavy on hair care products that I don’t need and won’t use. The products I would use are still worth the price plus shipping, but I’m just bored by the same brands over and over. That’s where a great deal of the joy for K- beauty comes from- the products are all new to us in the USA.

I’m sure it will sell out as usual, but I wish Allure would curate a more varied box. I’d like fewer products with higher values for $50.. and a lot less ” specialized” hair care. This is an era of free and naturally styled hair- Allure hasn’t let go of the styling products which were hot in the market 5 or so year ago.

  7. …Meh. I snagged Winter and Summer but haven’t even finished using all the products in the summer box! Still got a few body washes and lotion jars to go through, but all the hair products were totally awesome for me. It was nice to discover what worked and tamed my hair in this intense, southern humidity!

I actually have a basket set aside for all the products… it’s like a mini-store for my bathroom. I ran out of top coat polish the other day and found one in the basket from the Summer box… no emergency trip to the store needed.

This one though, it looks like there’s at least 6 products I wouldn’t use. I’m turning away from US skincare and sticking to Korean skincare brands, so most of these like the mainstream cleansers and moisturizers wouldn’t be for me since I’ve already invested in long-lasting, quality products. I am also not blonde, brunette, or tan. The only thing that looks exciting is the spinning toothbrush and Organic Doctor products. So I guess I can save my 50 bucks for more Korean skincare! ^^; …and maybe buy myself a spinning toothbrush.

  8. How do you become an enthusiasts so you can order the box before??
Is there a link someone can post??
    Thanks! (:

    • Interested in this too.

  9. I have curly frizzy hair this looks like the box for me. Hope I can get one.

  10. Thanks Liz for the heads up, setting up in my calendar to make sure Ill be able to get it. I must say I been getting hook up to subscription boxes thanks to you reviews, theres so many box subscription out there that I didn’t know about.

I will definitely try to get the box, I use some of the products anyways so why not. I have heard some many things about the Allure box and trying like a maniac sounds like Black Friday to me 🙂

  11. Ugh. Not a chance. Not interested in drugstore products… if I was I would buy things specific to my own needs. Good luck to people who are trying for this!

  12. Wow this looks pathetic. I’m kind of happy this box sucks..After the stress of not getting one last time after trying like a maniac and being so stressed out, I’m kind of glad this one is awful so I don’t have to go through that mess again.

  13. Pretty excited at all the people that aren’t pleased with the box. Maybe that means this year I will actually get one of them because I will certainly be trying! =)

  14. What a crappy, low end box! I stopped by wondering if they had a few better goodies they were separately announcing. Guess not! Pass.

  15. There’s too much in there that I won’t use for me to justify it. Hopefully I won’t regret that when I see all the unboxings!

  16. A lot that I would use…. my problem with the last box was it was hair product heavy. This one seems more rounded, with more skin care.

I sure hope I can get in again and snag a box. I hope that Allure starts limiting boxes to 1 per person.

  17. I have been lucky enough to snag the last 3 Allure boxes, but there was hardly anything in them I used, so I ended up swapping and giving a lot of it away. I bet that since I actually want more than half the items in this box, I won’t be able to get one, lol. But I’ll try!

    • I am impressed, what is your secret to getting any of the bags, the last promo was a website disaster… I don’t think I’ll try again, not worth the stress. 🙂

      • If you become an allure enthusiast you get to buy the box 3days before it goes on sale to the public.

        • Will they send an email to enthusiasts? I had not heard of this, just the pre purchase for all 3 boxes. I became an enthusiast last month. So Sunday we could purchase if we want?

        • I have been an Allure Enthusiast for around two years and never received an email about getting the box ahead of time– I wasn’t even able to get the Summer Box. I think it’s the people who pay for the year sub in advance who get “first dibs,” but I could be wrong…

  18. Perhaps now Sample Society is also officially an Allure brand, they’re differentiating this Beauty Box and SS as drugstore vs. high end? The amount that you receive in this is pretty amazing (must be a huge, heavy box!), but personally I have no use for more than half of the stuff, and CVS keeps on giving me 20-30% off coupons every week, so it is not such a great deal for me as it appears.

  19. The value is definitely there monetarily.

In “will I use it” value, it’s not worth it.

    So many hair products!

  20. Good to know I’ll be one of the few ordering this! Maybe checkout will go a lot smother than it did with the summer box… Yeah, most of this is drug store stuff, but most of the types of products in this box I buy on a regular basis anyways. I look at it as saving me money. And I get to try a few new products along the way. The only thing I will not use is the Redkin Blonde Idol, because I am not blonde.

  21. I love this box! There are many items I already use and that covers the cost of the box. I’m glad there isn’t a ton of hairspray. Super excited!!

Thanks for giving us the heads up : )

  22. Although I’m not thrilled with the products in the box (where is the tarte mascara or it cosmetics? Not even one high end item?) with 24 products in the box (25 if you count both polishes) and around $60 for the box with tax and shipping that is still around $2.50 per product and I can’t get the majority of the items for that even with sales and coupons!

  23. Wow, what a sad box this time. I don’t mind hair care but this is ridiculous. The highest priced item is $18, last box we got the IT CC cream ($38) and a Tarte mascara ($22?). Sorry, but I will actually pass this time.

  24. I like being introduced to non-drugstore brands through the Allure box, but this is still an amazing value even though I’ve at least seen, if not tried, most of these products.

  25. Looks like a drugstore in a box 😐

  26. Oooh. I really like the look of this box. There are only about 3 items I’ll definitely give away.

  27. Bummer, doesn’t look as good as the Summer box. I won’t waste my time being frustrated about trying to order it.

  28. For me, this Fall box would be about 90% keepers- which is a very good ratio- so I’ll give it another go at buying one. I, like so mamy oyhers, had no luck getting the Summer box.

  29. wow I have no interest in this …I think it’s terrible

  30. Super disappointed in this box. I

like subscription boxes because they allow me to sample and try brands I’ve never heard of and higher end brands I don’t see every day and/or can’t afford at full price. This box is almost entirely made of stuff I could pick up at the Walgreens down the street! And I’m also still fully stocked up on hair care items from the summer box.

Well, at least I won’t have to deal with the stress of trying to snag one when it opens up!

  31. Yeah, a bit too heavy on the skin/hair care. I really like getting the nice lotions and LOVE the Healthy Sexy Hair Soy Renewal stuff, but I can get the other stuff I want for cheaper or free with coupons and sales. I wish they’d do one that was more heavy on cosmetics and nail products!

  32. This box looks pretty disappointing. I haven’t even finished swapping all the hair products from the summer box, I certainly do not need more. There are only a few items that interest me, but I don’t have to have. So I just definitely gonna pass on this one. Hope Allure website won’t be a mess like last time tomorrow!

  33. I was just wondering yesterday when this would go on sale. Thanks for the heads up Liz!
I wish I were a little more excited about this one but as always the value is excellent and I love the idea of donating extras to a shelter.
I do think this one is slightly more balanced than last time but my hair care closet is pretty stocked!

  34. I am going to try to get this, although I won’t be too disappointed if I can’t get it. I will use most of it but with sales and coupons, I can get many of these things cheaper. I did get the spinbrush and toothpaste from Smiley 360 and really like them, although not too exciting in a beauty box!

  35. I might just try to get this one – even taking out the value of the products that I probably wouldn’t use it’s still triple the value of the price! Nothing necessarily super exciting (yay toothpaste!), but lots of items I’d for sure use.

  36. Holy crap. It’s like they cleared off the shelf at the shop lol.

  37. There are 3 things I know right away I will not use, but still about $195 of products I would. As with all boxes that are “surprise” if there is some thing I can not use I go out of my way to donate it rather than swap it. I figure it’s never wasted money if some one is using it, and I used to work at a homeless care center where I just know the women love non-generic things for a treat! I urge all of you to do the same! Even when I get things in Fancy Boxes I know people might love to use them later in the year to give as christmas gifts to their families so I donate those types of items to gift drives!

    • That is just awesome! I had been thinking about doing the same thing, that’s a great idea!!

    • Yep, I do the same thing. 🙂 Keep some, donate some, and trade the ones I doubt the food pantry would want.

  38. I might try for this one. I’ve used some of those items before (Cetaphil, the elf cloths). It’s kind of weird that the color shampoo is for brunettes but I guess that’s close enough to black. I can even try the toothpaste since it doesn’t have sodium lauryl sulfate (which gives me canker sores). Of course, who knows if I’ll be able to get through after the debacle with the last box. May not be keeping the hair spray for blondes, though…

  39. I have to say, I am a little disappointed by this box. I added it up, and I won’t be able to use 13 of the items (hair items that will not work in my hair, and a nail polish!). I wish it wasn’t SO concentrated on hair care, and included more skin care and/or makeup. Really disappointed!

  40. Would love to get one, but have bad luck with the limited boxes. I can’t ever seem to get to it fast enough!
