JewelMint VIPBox Subscription Box Review – July 2014
JewelMint VIPBox is a monthly surprise jewelry subscription. FYI – it is separate from a regular JewelMint subscription.
The Subscription Box: JewelMint VIPBox
The Cost: $30 a month
The Products: 3 pieces of jewelry each month (over an $80 value)
What do you think of this new JewelMint subscription model? I’m intrigued, but their mystery boxes tend to be hit or miss for me, so I’m debating signing up.
Check out all of my JewelMint VIPBox reviews and the Jewelry Subscription Box Directory!
Each box comes with an illustrated card detailing each of the pieces in the box that month.
Le Petit Bow Earrings – Value $30?
While I normally don’t wear silver, these little stud earrings are adorable – I love them!
Desert Hoops – Value $30?
I like the design of these, but when it come to earrings I prefer smaller, delicate pieces, so I’ll probably swap this pair!
Lock Cuff – Value $30
This cuff is not the kind that you can easily bend to get it on your wrist – in fact I was just able to get it to fit. Once it’s on it’s lovely though!
Pink Vita Necklace – Value $30
This is hands down my favorite item in the box! It’s so well-made, and I love the color combination of the pink beads, the rose-gold metal and the clear and bronze stones!
Verdict: I think JewelMint jewelry is very well-made and to get 4 pieces for $30 is a great deal. (Normally it’s only 3 pieces, but this month they included a bonus set of earrings). And I’ve bought regular JewelMint mystery boxes before, and I think the subscription seems to be better curated. Do you subscribe to JewelMint VIP? What do you think of the pieces and the value?
I’ve had a little bit of trouble with Jewelmint customer service too. My first box was late, and they emailed me that they would be sending me something extra in my next month’s box. Nothing extra came. I emailed them and they said, “Oh, we’ll make sure it comes with your box in July,” but nothing extra was included. So basically they put you off.
When they finally sent what I had paid for it included 2 different earrings and a broken bracelet. At that point I was tired of wasting my time so I just dropped it. But it did confirm my reason for cancelling the subscription. Bad business on their part.
Same here. I did have some problems when I e-mailed them it didn’t seem to get resolved. So, I called and they were super helpful. Maybe calling is more effective…either that or I just lucked out and got a good CS rep. I do like the fact that you can skip monthly with this sub. I usually just skip and buy stuff when it goes on sale. Sometimes they have really amazing sales so its almost worth it for that (although I have just the regular membership, not VIP. You cannot skip with VIP).
I saw an advertisement on facebook for 4- 5 pieces for 29.99 to try and that would start your subscription so I did it. I received my box with 2 pieces that looked nothing like what they advertise. I called them and they stated that some people got the wrong box. So, I cancelled the subscription. If what they sent was an example of what they would send in the future, I didn’t like it. Plus, I was suppose to get 4-5 pieces of jewelry. I was really hoping to like it
Liz – What camera are you using? I’m amazed by the detail that you can see in the bow earrings.
The necklace is my favorite. It looks beautiful. Another box to add to my someday list.
Just my iPhone 🙂
I must be doing something wrong with my Samsung. I send pictures of my items to my sister and the details never comes out as nice as your pictures. Thank you for letting me know.
Even with my nice (non-phone) camera, good external lighting really helps. (I’m not talking about the flash, either. I have a lamp that seems to work for most things I want to photograph.)
I need to keep that in mind. The lighting is horrible in my house. I have to go outside a lot to take pictures which can be hard because I live in a cloudy, rainy area.
