From the Lab is a unique beauty subscription box – each month they send you a new beauty product that isn’t on the market yet. The idea is that beauty companies heavily markup their products, so by getting the beauty product after it’s created and tested in the lab, they can send you the products for much less than you would pay once they are branded in the upcoming months/years.
From the Lab kindly sent me this box to review.
The Subscription Box: From The Lab
The Cost: $29.95 plus $5.95 shipping a month (or save $10 a month with the annual plan).
The Products: 1-2 full size products in the following categories: Skincare, Haircare or Color Cosmetics.
Ships to: US

Each product comes with a fold out sheet detailing the beauty product’s benefits and ingredients, plus directions for how to apply each product. This month is their one-year anniversary, and they are celebrating with the Summer Essentials Collection (an approx $225 value box).
From The Lap Lip Primer (Bonus item sent to new subscribers)
I like this Face Primer a lot - it left my skin with a nice matte finish to apply my Tarte foundation over! This lip primer I think works great if you're putting lipstick over it, but I don't like it as a regular lip balm replacement.
I tried out the cleanser and learned it's not the foaming kind (I guess I should read the directions first), instead you apply it to a cotton pad and use it to remove makeup, cleanse and tone your face.
After that lesson I decided to read the directions on the hair and face mask before I try them! Both of the masks require a little more time than I'm used to for masks (10-30 min on dry hair for the hair mask, and 15-20 min for the face mask), so I haven't gotten to trying them yet!
Verdict: The July From The Lab box is definitely a great value, and I love that all the products are full-sized. If I could change one thing about the subscription, I'd like to see the products come with labels that include ingredients and directions. Right now, that information is only on the included sheet, and it would be more convenient to keep that info on the product itself!
Did you get the July From The Lab box? What did you think of think of the products? (Are the masks worth the time investment?)
