Ipsy July 2014 Spoiler

I really like the bareMierals brand so I'm pretty pumped about this spoiler - what do you think?

I am also excited about the bareminerals spoiler. Hoping for 5in1 but the duo looks nice as well.

I had cancelled my second bag after the last few duds – this was enough to make me go back.

I’m waitlisted now though. Ugh. Is there any way off the waitlist without a referral? Last time I just had to Facebook about it. This time it says someone has to sign up first…

To Skip the Wait:
Click “Skip the Wait” from your ipsy account which will prompt you to share to and like on Facebook as well as subscribe to our YouTube channels. If you don’t see that option, click “My Account” and connect your Facebook first. Once a friend subscribes from your Facebook link, you’ll be moved from the Waitlist! (Sometimes we run promotions where no referral is needed!)

I tried to ‘skip the wait’. It had 4 (!!!) steps. Post on FB (I did), something else which I am blanking on b/c I’m 52 (I did), subscribe to 4 you tube channels (I did), AND allow ipsy access to my email contact list and have them send emails to 20 (!!!) people. I drew the line there. How shady. NO other box makes you jump through these marketing hoops. Ugh.

Hi, i sign up like a 1 week ago and they told me to post it on my wall and to subscribe to all of there youtuber and i did and i got off the waiting list rightaway

Not sure which I’d prefer more! I typically use powder shadows, but I only like big palettes that have multiple shadows. I never like singles or duos. Cream shadow, though, never lasts on my eyes no matter the amount of primer or setting spray. It always gets patchy.

Either way, I’m still excited to get another bare minerals product!

So let me tell ya what ya cash do with those onesies shadows….

Look up Book Of Shadows by anothersoul on Etsy. She makes empty, magnetic strip awesome looking makeup palettes. Order one of your choice, then go pickup some magnetic tape at the store. Depot all your onesie eyeshadows/blushes/whatever and arrange your new CUSTOM palette. 😀

I’m a big fan of etsy 🙂 – I looked it up and wow its a pretty butterfly design I might get Empty Magnetic Makeup Palette Eye Shadow Eyeshadow Empty Storage Valentine – Romeo and Juliet. My favorite seller on etsy is: PuurBody – I found them here on my subscription addiction on swaps a while ago when i wanted to swap for a lip scrub and the other person was not interested in the items I had listed. PuurBody makes what I consider the best perfume oils. Long lasting, and great customer service. Her lip scrub lasts a while and is yummy!

Just wanted to let Canadians know that Fab Fit Fun now ships to Canada with reasonable shipping charges. Yay

Looking forward to which ever bareMinerals they send. I’ve started using some bare mineral products and really like the brand.

— RE: Last months box, I just got an email saying as a replacement for the mascara they are sending a bombsell lipgloss. At lipgloss I will use, mascara I never opened the box. – Might be fun to try another lip gloss 🙂

Hi
Are they sending out a replacement for everyone who recieved the bombshell mascara? Or did you contact them personally?

Sneaky Burrito

I had to contact Ipsy Care. I sent in the lot number (310) and complained about the smell. Took them a few days to get back to me.

kiwimango

Aww, is your gloss in a nice color? They sent me a BaB all-in-one color stick in a very pale pink as my replacement. It’s a shame I’m medium toned so the pale color doesn’t work so well on me.

Have not gotten it yet, they just sent me a tracking # today. — I hope they send a pale pink, if it is any darker I would want to swap. I’m pale and darker lip colors make me look more pale. — I’ll trade with you if they send a color that is darker then the pale pink.

Carolyn

I can’t wait! Crossing my fingers for that sample…

Does anyone know if you can get off the Ipsy waiting list without posting to Facebook? I’ve been waiting for 2 months now!!!!

Reply ButtonReply

Dannapants

If you don’t have FaceBook that is one thing, but if you do and don’t want to post it on your feed (like I didn’t) you can post it just to your own page and it counts. 🙂

Robyn

They’ve changed it in the last few months. It’s not just posting to Facebook any longer. Someone has to sign up with your link: “Follow ipsy and Share with Friends! Once they’re subscribed, you’ll hop right off the Waitlist!”

If someone has a link to the old post / get off the waitlist method, please let me know! I couldn’t find one.

lily

Just keep sending them emails ….. It took me 2 months to get off the waiting list ( since I’m not on FB ), yet I emailed 3 or 4 times. I also told them, I did not like their fb idea to get off the waiting list. Since I’m sure I’m not the only one who is not on FB

Ipsy will be out of business in six months if they do not stop this con game with the referrals. To sign up and have a wait list (which is bogus I found out) is one thing. To then tell your customers you refuse to send them promised product until they get you a new customer, and specifically via Facebook, that is called deception, it’s bait and switch, it’s unethical. Even if they have only one customer NOT on FB, they cannot do this stupid rabbit jump up thing. It’s discrimination, don’t you folks see that? If you walk into Sears and say, “I want to buy a washer.” And another customer at the same time says, “I also want to buy a washer.” And the Sears salesman says, well, whichever of you can run to a computer, get on Facebook and send me another person who will also buy a washer, then, maybe, if I’m in a good mood, I will sell you one too. This is amateur and I predict they will be in trouble legally.

Brooke

I don’t have a Facebook either nor will I ever get one. I’ve been on the waiting list as well and it’s frustrating that you can only get off the wait list immediately by using Facebook. What about the people who don’t have a Facebook?

yvonne

Wow 2 months is way too long to have to wait. I only lasted two days before I broke down and activated my FB just to get off the waiting list! I don’t “do” FB but I didn’t want to wait any longer. Once I did that and posted a comment about Ipsy, I was off the wait list automatically!

Liz

They are posting on their FB page all the time different links to get off the waiting list 🙂

Robyn

It would help if I scrolled down first…

Heather

I am VERY excited about this. I only have a bare minerals powder type kit for face, so i am really looking forward to trying other products from them! Either one will be amazing to add to my makeup collection 🙂

kiwimango

I got that email. Don’t care, quit ipsy for a reason.

Reply ButtonReply

Emmy

lol I agree. My friend is bummed out, because she just quit. I told her, either you would get the one you didn’t want, or the color would have been horrible. Sometimes it was good, I just hope they get better at customizing.

kiwimango

After I canceled I subbed to an indie makeup box that will come with much bolder colors (which I prefer!) and I’m so dang excited to get it! So didn’t much care about this… because as you said, I’d probably get the thing I DIDN’T want lol.

Sneaky Burrito

I quit ipsy after looking back and deciding I hadn’t used a whole lot of their samples. They keep sending me e-mails to resubscribe (like I wouldn’t be on the waitlist forever…).

I like Bare Minerals, too. But eyeshadow is not an everyday thing for me and I have more than I’ll ever use before the recommended throw-out dates, anyway. (I tried the Sumita pencil from Glossybox today, though, and I like it. But it’ll last me forever and I have a ton of eyeshadow from Lip Factory, Birchbox, e.l.f., and ipsy before I quit, as well.)
