Escape Monthly Subscription Box Review & Coupon – June

Escape Monthly is a monthly vacation-in-a-box subscription. Each box comes with food, beauty items, and other souvenirs from a new destination. You also get a tourist book – so this box might help you plan your next actual vacation too!

FYI - They recently introduced a mini-version of their box for $24.95 that doesn't include the guide book, and is only 4-5 items. This review is of the full box, but I may end up switching to the mini-version subscription since I don't usually use the books. (If you got the mini version of the Vegas box, please let us know what was in it - I'm so curious to see how they compare!)

Escape Monthly Subscription Box Review & Coupon – June 2014 Info

Each box comes with a fold out card detailing each item included in your box.

Escape Monthly Subscription Box Review & Coupon – June 2014 Scrub

3 Girls Holistic Calming Mist Body Spray - Value $12

iadora Charcoal Salt Body Scrub - Value $15

I think my body spray spilled a little in shipping, but fortunately it's mostly still a full bottle. I really like this scent (I shouldn't be surprised - the first ingredient is lavender) and I'm sure I will use the entire bottle up!

I'm also pleased with this charcoal body scrub. I just tried it out, and at first I thought it wouldn't be very moisturizing since it seemed like there wasn't much oil in the formula, but when I washed it off it left my skin with just the right amount of oil/moisture! (I'm not sure if everyone loves the smell of charcoal, but I don't mind it. It definitely is a strong scent though!)

Escape Monthly Subscription Box Review & Coupon – June 2014 Tahoe

Tahoe Toffee Candy Co. - Value $6?

Vegas Wine Stopper -  Value $5.39

I'm not sure about the value of this Tahoe Toffee. In the info sheet, Escape Monthly described this as the "Tahoe Nevada Toffee Gift Box," but looking at their site it definitely is not that item. Even at a lesser value, this is a really cute souvenir item!

And speaking of cute souvenir items, this wine stopper is an item I would see myself buying for friends and family if I made a trip to vegas!

Escape Monthly Subscription Box Review & Coupon – June 2014 Shot Glass

Las Vegas Shot Glass - Value $3.95

Authentic Clipped Casino Playing Cards - Value $4.99

Vegas Nail File - Value $1.25

I was cracking up when I read Escape Monthly's little blurb about this shot glass, "Sin City is all about letting loose and having a little fun. Pour yourself a shot of your favorite drink and relax in your bathtub!" I don't know about you, but doing shots in the bathtub is not my idea of relaxing!  That being said, I was expecting a shot glass and clipped casino cards in this box - they seem like classic Las Vegas souvenirs.

Escape Monthly Subscription Box Review & Coupon – June 2014 Nevada

Nevada Travel Guide - Value $19.99

I've only been to Vegas once for a conference, but I want to go back on a trip that's just for fun, so I was hoping that the guide would be all about Vegas. Fortunately this book has over 100 pages on Las Vegas, so I'm sure that will be enough info for me!

Verdict: I paid $40 for this box and received about $70 worth of items. I'm happier to see a slightly higher value box this month, and I really like both of the beauty products, so I'm pleased with the June Escape Monthly box.

What did you think of the Las Vegas Escape Monthly box? And what do you think of the July destination – India?

Did the charcoal scrub burn anyone else? I read the ingredients carefully, didn’t see anything in it I’m allergic too. I can’t figure it out. It just slightly burns on my skin. I’ve used charcoal products before too 🙁

Has anyone received the mini Indian box? REALLY curious what is in that one. I like the regular India box I got, but it seems a bit spendy.

Decided to try the mini box starting this month. I wouldn’t use the travel book as everything goes on my kindle now. Really looking forward to it since I love to travel.

Hi all! Rebecca from Escape Monthly here. The Escape Mini features 4-6 items minus the guidebook. It follows the same theme as the normal box, but it will have a different variety of products (unlike the vegas version). If anyone has any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me at [email protected]

Happy Travels!

Hi, If I sign up now, will I receive the India box??
Thanks

I think you would be sign up for the Paris box since it is after the 15th. I would email Escape Monthly to see if there are extra India boxes if that is what you wish to purchase. Rebecca has been very helpful and responsive to my communications with Escape Monthly.

Escape Monthly exceeded my expectations. I received my replacement items on Friday. They replaced my whole box! I wasn’t expecting that especially since I bought it on a voucher. CS responded quickly to my problem, offered a solution, and sent a replacement box all within a span of one week. This is one subscription I will be continuing. Now to decide whether the regular size or mini after India which is the last box for my voucher.

Strange, I am on this cusp of deciding whether to keep this sub, but for completely different reasons than just about any other person.
I LOVE the guide books and the destination items, but I hate the beauty items. I dont use them. From past reviews I saw (before I decided to subscribe) it seems more destination items were included (ie I would have LOVED the geode from the Colorado box). There are literally dozens of beauty boxes out there, I wanted a destination box. So we’ll see how India goes.

How do you sign up for the “mini” box? I can’t find it anywhere on their website. I HATE the guidebook and would love to get the box without it even if it’s less items too!

I found the mini escape box in their footer – hope that helps!

So if I sign up now, will I receive the India box?

This is my second box through the Living Social Deal. My full size box is exactly the same as Liz except for the shot glass. I like hers better than the one I received which has Las Vegas imprinted all over it. The Calming Mist leaked into the box and the wine stopper broke. I emailed Escape Monthly, and they will be replacing both. I’m satisfied with their customer service. It was a quick response. I am curious about what will be in the India box. I am hoping for herbs and loose tea leaves.

I am definitely switching to the mini box! I haven’t even opened the last 4 books I received from them and India sounds amazing I cant wait for that one 🙂

I thought it was a great box! We travel to Vegas a lot so I thought that the items were fitting. My calming mist leaked A LOT on my travel book so they are re-sending those. My deck of cards is from Paris Las Vegas, where we actually stayed last March.

I bought the three month subscription from Living Social with a 20% off promo code, so this box plus the next two are averaging out to only around $24/month.

Okay, thats hilarious! Who relaxes with doing shots in the bathtub? I mean, I guess it happens.. but I’d rather a glass of wine. 🙂

I got the mini and loved the scrub! =) No spray or book. I can’t wait for India. Elephant bangle and something with curry? I hope it’s a great surprise.

Very cool! I was just in Las Vegas a few days ago and will be going to India in September.

I got the mini box and it had everything but the spray and the book.

Pilar

Mine mini box had the spray too, maybe it was an accident and they didn’t mean too included it. Lol

Pilar

The mini box was just the same, but without the travel guide book.

Thanks for letting me know – I’m definitely switching my subscription then!

I read on their facebook page that, that is the case this month. However, for next month the only thing in common is their theme.

Personally, I would be more inclined to subscribe if everything was the same in both boxes except the travel book – I would never use it anyway
