Escape Monthly is a monthly vacation-in-a-box subscription. Each box comes with food, beauty items, and other souvenirs from a new destination. You also get a tourist book – so this box might help you plan your next actual vacation too!
FYI - They recently introduced a mini-version of their box for $24.95 that doesn't include the guide book, and is only 4-5 items. This review is of the full box, but I may end up switching to the mini-version subscription since I don't usually use the books. (If you got the mini version of the Vegas box, please let us know what was in it - I'm so curious to see how they compare!)
This month's destination is Las Vegas!
The Subscription Box: Escape Monthly
The Cost: $49.95 a month ($39.95 a month with coupon)
The Products: Each box is a destination-inspired monthly delivery of luxury products to help you relax, renew and escape.
Ships to: US only
Bonus Points: Each month, one lucky member will be selected at random to win a vacation to the current month’s theme destination. Escape Monthly will pay for the winner’s airfare from a major US hub and two nights of accommodations, up to $1000. (They announce the winners publicly on Facebook).

Each box comes with a fold out card detailing each item included in your box.
3 Girls Holistic Calming Mist Body Spray - Value $12
iadora Charcoal Salt Body Scrub - Value $15
I think my body spray spilled a little in shipping, but fortunately it's mostly still a full bottle. I really like this scent (I shouldn't be surprised - the first ingredient is lavender) and I'm sure I will use the entire bottle up!
I'm also pleased with this charcoal body scrub. I just tried it out, and at first I thought it wouldn't be very moisturizing since it seemed like there wasn't much oil in the formula, but when I washed it off it left my skin with just the right amount of oil/moisture! (I'm not sure if everyone loves the smell of charcoal, but I don't mind it. It definitely is a strong scent though!)
Tahoe Toffee Candy Co. - Value $6?
Vegas Wine Stopper - Value $5.39
I'm not sure about the value of this Tahoe Toffee. In the info sheet, Escape Monthly described this as the "Tahoe Nevada Toffee Gift Box," but looking at their site it definitely is not that item. Even at a lesser value, this is a really cute souvenir item!
And speaking of cute souvenir items, this wine stopper is an item I would see myself buying for friends and family if I made a trip to vegas!
Las Vegas Shot Glass - Value $3.95
Authentic Clipped Casino Playing Cards - Value $4.99
Vegas Nail File - Value $1.25
I was cracking up when I read Escape Monthly's little blurb about this shot glass, "Sin City is all about letting loose and having a little fun. Pour yourself a shot of your favorite drink and relax in your bathtub!" I don't know about you, but doing shots in the bathtub is not my idea of relaxing! That being said, I was expecting a shot glass and clipped casino cards in this box - they seem like classic Las Vegas souvenirs.
Nevada Travel Guide - Value $19.99
I've only been to Vegas once for a conference, but I want to go back on a trip that's just for fun, so I was hoping that the guide would be all about Vegas. Fortunately this book has over 100 pages on Las Vegas, so I'm sure that will be enough info for me!
Verdict: I paid $40 for this box and received about $70 worth of items. I'm happier to see a slightly higher value box this month, and I really like both of the beauty products, so I'm pleased with the June Escape Monthly box.
What did you think of the Las Vegas Escape Monthly box? And what do you think of the July destination – India?
