Nerd Block Subscription Box Review – May 2014

Nerd Block Subscription Box Review - May

Nerd Block is a monthly subscription box for geeks and gamers. This box typically includes at least a figurine or two, and always a new exclusive shirt. Compared to Loot Crate, I’ve found that Nerd Block seems to have more figurines each month, where Loot Crate seems to have more exclusive items.

Check out my Nerd Block reviews and Loot Crate reviews!

Nerd Block Subscription Box Review - May 2014 Info

I was so excited to see an info card in this month's box! (A subscription box somehow feels incomplete to me without, and Nerd Block has never done cards before).

Nerd Block Subscription Box Review - May 2014 Fett

Fett is Coming T-Shirt - Value $18?

Every month Nerd Block creates an exclusive shirt for the box. (FYI - I think these shirts run a little large). Also, Star Wars + GoT = Nerd Block definitely knows what they are doing!

Nerd Block Subscription Box Review - May 2014 Toad

Star Wars Plush - Value $7

Super Mario Bros. Danglers - Value $2

Have you noticed the Star Wars theme yet? We're not as big of fans as some of friends, so I think we'll be sharing some of these items!

Nerd Block Subscription Box Review - May 2014 Stick It

Stick It Pad - Value $3?

This is one of those car dashboard sticky pads that you can keep your phone on. It's also the first "Nerd Certified Product of the Month." I wonder if we'll see more in future boxes?

Nerd Block Subscription Box Review - May 2014 Spider Man

The Amazing Spider-Man Fan-Expo Comic Book Version 001 - Value $6

My husband was excited to see this in the box. (We still have to see the new Spider-Man movie! I"ve been dragging my feet since it hasn't gotten the best reviews).

Nerd Block Subscription Box Review - May 2014 Paper Craft

Star Wars Boxos Papercraft Playset - Value $11

Verdict: We paid $30 for this box and received close to $50 worth of items. I think if we were big Star Wars fans this would have probably been the best box ever, but I always try to caution in these reviews that a good Nerd Block or Loot Crate usually depends on if they include the items you are a fan of. I think the value of this box is good, and we'll have some items to gift/swap.

What do you think of the May Nerd Block box?

It was my first Nerdblock and I’m looking forward to the next. Does anyone get the fitted shirts? I got the standard shirt in a men’s Large and it’s pretty big. I’d be interested to know what the sizing is like on the fitted ones.
Does someone want to trade for the Men’s Large? I’m game. Respond and let’s talk!

fyi that comic is a variant cover. $15 retail but if you look at what it’s going for on ebay you’re looking at upwards of $60. it’s cover variant “AP”. google “amazing spiderman #1 fan expo variant”. right now you can get 3x more for it than what may’s nerd block costs.

Sippa cuppa coffee

How many have actually sold at that price not one. I checked, people can put a price on anything doesn’t mean to say it will sell at that price I have found with ebay always look at the finished auctions that way you get the real average of what things sell for.

Good day kind sir

That shirt is awesome! I too would be interested in the shirt in child size or extra large. I hope somebody will post a swap for it. I tried to order but my bank had trouble doing the transaction because it’s out of country. 🙁

Loved this month’s Nerd Block, Nerd Block Jr (for girls), and Loot Crate. I do think that Nerd Block is a tad better than Loot Crate. They are more hit than miss, while Loot Crate is a lot of miss but a big payoff when it’s a hit.

This looks amazing! My husband and I are both big Star Wars fans, he insisted on signing up for Loot Crate instead of Nerd Block and now I’m sad….I want that t-shirt!!!! If anyone wants to swap (size L) let me know!

That tshirt is great! Beyond great! LOL. I agree about both Lootcrate and NerdBlock that if you are into the “theme” for the month, the box may be worth it more than other months. I subscribed to Lootcrate for this month for that reason as my son LOVES the theme they had and the surprise with Nerdblock made me wary.. but this I would have LOVED! 🙂
Thanks for the reviews!
