Lip Factory Makeup Subscription Box Review – May 2014

Lip Factory Makeup Subscription Box Review - May

Lip Factory is a monthly full-size makeup subscription box. They tend to send a variety of drugstore and mid-tier makeup, and the value seems to always be at least double the cost of the box. (Extra good news – they ship worldwide!)

This month the boxes are a little longer - to fit nail wraps...

Each box comes with a folded card detailing the items included for that month.

Lip Factory Makeup Subscription Box Review - May 2014 Blush

MeMeMe Cosmetics Boxed Blush in Coral - Value $14.25

The packaging of this blush reminds me so much of Benefit's Coralista!

Lip Factory Makeup Subscription Box Review - May 2014 Lipgloss

Teeez Golden Glow Lipgloss in Roaming Mauve - Value $18

Pari Beauty Lipstick in Ballet Flats - Value $12

I liked the shimmery sheerness of this lipgloss, but it's just a bit too sticky for my taste. (I'm very picky when it comes to lipgloss).

Lip Factory Makeup Subscription Box Review - May 2014 Stickers

NCLA Nail Wraps - Value $16

Medusa's Makeup Eye Shadow in Maneater - Value $8

I think I'm at the point with getting NCLA nail wraps in subscription boxes where they are starting to lose their value. Of course if I used them more often I'd probably love getting them so frequently!

Verdict: I paid $22 for this box and received a little over $68 worth of full sized makeup. I think they had a great mix of makeup products this month - what do you think of the May Lip Factory?

Do you think this is better than Boxycharm? If so, why please? I haven’t been getting subscription boxes long (currently have gotten Julep Maven, Her Fashion Box which was just an awful experience all around, Graze, Ipsy & Boxycharm). I was floored w/ Boxycharm! Loved my only June 2014 that I’ve gotten so far & Customer Service bent over backwards for me. I kept Ipsy, and Boxycharm.
So, I’m in the market for 1 cheaper box & 1 Wantable box. HELP! 🙂 Also, in Wantable Intimates, what are Accessories? I can’t think of any Accessories that would come with the Wantable Intimates Box. Thank you for any help you can throw my way. ♥

I just got my first box today. This box and Glossybox seem to have the slowest shipping time.

I love that this box is all full size. I’m just sad that my box was missing the lipstick and my eyeshadow arrived broken in a bunch of pieces 🙁

You should contact their customer service. It sometimes takes me a day or two to hear back from them, but they’ve always been able to help me with problems and they’ve been very friendly.

I got my box like two weeks ago, so they must have a staggered shipping schedule. (Previously I would get mine later in the month as well, but I had to cancel and resubscribe due to a payment issue and so I wonder if sign-up times makes a difference?)

I’m actually happy with the pattern of these wraps. It’s the first time I actually like the design. I think these would be great for summer. But I agree that it can be very hit or miss and perhaps not everyone’s cup of tea !

I wish nail wraps would go away too. I rarely like the way they look and they don’t fit my nail beds very well. I have about 4 or 5 of those NCLA nail wraps buried in my vanity gathering dust 🙁

I unsubscribed from this box a few days before this month’s arrived, and its killing me now because I loved this month’s so much! I haven’t used nail wraps, but the ones I got (Kryptonite Cocktail) are gorgeous. And I loved the glittery gloss! I’m so conflicted now…

Love that the blush is a very cheaper version of a benefit product! Benefit’s so expensive for such tiny sizes, so I loved discovering this!
As for the nail wraps, I think once you try them, you will love them! I have quite a stockpile because a pack can last for 3 or 4 weeks-they’re all I use right now. If you don’t want them for your entire nail, cut them up for some fun nail stickers, especially because you have all the other nail polish subscriptions to play with 🙂

I was curious how responsive they were to someone’s profile. In the past I’ve gotten identical colors to Liz but I changed my answers and got some different colors. My lipstick looked a lot darker in the tube, almost a dark rust/maroon color (but had more orange in it when I put it on). My eyeshadow was somewhat different (more pink in it — really like it, though). My nail wraps were quite plain by comparison (a nude color with a little white part down near the cuticles).

I got the same blush and I like it; have been wearing it for a week or two now. I don’t care for the brush that comes with the blush but I have plenty of other brushes. I think this is the first time I’ve gotten blush in a subscription box? It’s something I use every day (I usually go for blush, mascara, and lip color if I’m in a hurry) so I’m glad to have it.

My nail wrap package was just bent/curved to get it to fit in the normal-sized box. I’m not thrilled with nail wraps, either, but this is the first time I’ve gotten them and even if you subtract the retail value of those, you still get more than your money’s worth from the box.

wow – the value is good on this box. Had no idea it was a mixed variety of items in this box. Maybe I should get this box next month, I can’t decide now between this box or the blush box. I already get glossy box and my favorite saffron rouge box. I really like boxes with the most value

I thought it was only lip stuff too. I have to admit if I see nail wraps, I usually don’t have any intent on buying a subscription to that sub box. It is something I would never use…and $16 value seems excessive.
