Golden Tote goes on sale today at noon EST! Have you finalized which items you are picking this month? (I’m still struggling with a maxi debate – I want them all!)

  1. The $49 tote was a big let down. I was hoping the floral shirt would be in it, at least. Boo. No tote for me this month.

  2. Yay! I finally got the items I wanted! I chose the webbed tunic and the pleated print blouse (orange was the only one left in my size, but I’m okay with that!) and added the floral shift dress (if we decide to have a baby I thought this would double as a cute maternity tent!) This is the first time I paid for rush shipping because I was hoping to get it before a trip on the 22nd. Fingers crossed!

  3. I decided against this month’s because I accidentally purchased an allure beauty box twice in the frenzy last week and now have to either sell the second one or trade it all. The puella dress was so cute though!

    • You should contact customer service and let them know. They will be able to resolve the issue. Someone posted on their facebook page with this same issue (purchased 2 because she accidentally hit the back button) and the CS resolved it pretty quickly

    • How much is the allure beauty box?

      • Mine ended up being $58.44 total ($44.95 + $10 SH + $3.49 tax)

  4. They were having problems again this morning, but everything seems to be available now. Just placed my 1st order and I’m so glad I checked the site after my initial order couldn’t go through this morning.

  5. I really like one of the dresses in the spoiler, but not in either of the totes. Was it sold out or just not included?? Kind of disappointed, so not getting this month’s tote.

  6. Anyone else disappointed with the $49 selection this month? I didn’t see one thing I wanted in there (part of my problem is that I can’t buy shorts or pants online because the fit is always tricky! Plus I’m really tall so most of the short dresses are indecent for me. ) Was hoping for a maxi dress, but didn’t have the $149 in budget this month. 🙁

    • Me! I was just going to post the same thing. Found a couple of cute choices at $149, but alas… too rich for my blood.

      • Me too! I was hoping that the pleated printed top was available in the $49 tote. If there had been better choices, I would have bought one of each ($149 and $49). But there was nothing in the $49 tote that I wanted.

        • Yep, I would have picked that top if it was in $49 tote! Oh well…

    • Yeah, I wasn’t even tempted by anything in the $49 tote. Skipping this month. I love the maxi in the $149 tote, but can’t afford that right now.

  7. Wow that was brutal. I got in right at noon, selected my items quickly and by the time I went to checkout they were out. I went back and selected a smaller size of both and got to the point where I submitted my credit card info but then got another message that they were sold out. It would be nice if once you got items in your cart they were off limits (for a short period of time at least) until you can actually enter your CC info. grrrrrrrrr!!!!!

    • I agree! Most other sites, like Gilt, etc., will “reserve” the item for you as long as you have it in your cart and you have a time limit to check out. Golden Tote obviously doesn’t reserve anything even if it’s in your cart!

      • Can we request that to them? That’s so rude! Especially since they don’t save your CC info!

    • Totally agree. This was my first tote. I did get to purchase my 2 top choice items, but not in my first choice of sizes. Fingers crossed they fit anyway!

      • I actually went back to try again and found that the items I wanted were available in my size and I was able to make the purchase. Problem is, I unknowingly had two $149 totes in my cart and accidentally bought both! I have an email in to Golden Tote to see if I can cancel one.

    • I had the exact same problem! It took me forever to figure out which item in my cart was sold out. Then when I found it, I selected a different size, tried to check out, and again was rejected! I was finally able to check out with the Puella maxi dress and the tassel tank. I wanted to buy some add-ons, but I was so worried that something else would go out of stock that I just checked out as fast as I could.

    • They actually posted on one of the comments on Facebook yesterday that they are migrating to a new system that will “reserve” items in your cart for up to 3 minutes and will tell you which item in your cart is “out of stock” since currently, it just tells you items in your cart are out of stock and then it becomes a guessing game of what. Should be up an running in the next 2 months or so. I was thrilled because I always get screwed out of my size in the time it takes to get to check out!

  8. I got there at 12:01, immediately added what I wanted, went to check out. It said one of my items sold out so I went to change it and when I checked out again the other had sold out. Now the whole $149 tote is sold out! Bummer! This is my first time to miss one this year!

    • They posted on facebook that they are having a site issue- not really sold out. Keep checking back!

  9. I’m so glad I was off today to stalk the the site! Got the preppy plaid dress, the pink floral print top and added the shorts for $25! What a deal!

  10. The only item I really, really wanted was the preppy plaid dress and I had it in my cart at 12:01, but by the time I tried to checkout just a few minutes later, it said it was sold out in my size.
    I am super disappointed! If anyone was able to order one in large and for some reason, doesn’t end up wanting it (doubt it!), let me know.

  11. Wow. The only two things that I wanted were sold out within 15 minutes: Plaid Dress and Slouchy Pants. No Golden Tote for me this month. 🙁

  12. So that was stressful; I had to submit my order about 20 times before it finally went through. But I got what I wanted! The Classic Puella Maxi in black and the Webbed Trim Tunic. Yay!

  13. So I got my reminder email last night from Golden Tote, and went on the site to look at the options. This was LAST NIGHT around 9pm pacific, and half the items were already sold out! WTF? Based on being able to choose which options I wanted (even though I didn’t end up purchasing), they’re letting people buy their totes early. This must be why they’re having issues keeping things in stock.

    • They keep the old totes available until the new one is on sale. You saw the April totes. If you look now, you’ll see the May totes.

  15. Hi Liz, not to distract from the Golden Tote frenzy 🙂 but have you received an e-mail from me regarding a Darby Girl review? I haven’t heard back and wondered whether my e-mail got lost in cyberspace.

  16. About how long does their shipping take?

    • It’s a lot faster if you live on the west coast. They ship via UPS, so once your order is put together (that takes about a week), it will ship UPS ground from CA. Since I’m on the east coast I always upgrade to 2nd day shipping – I hate waiting!

      • Thanks, Liz! I was thinking about trying this out for the first time and was hoping that it would make it before I leave for a trip, which isn’t for several weeks. Sounds great!

  17. Omg me too! If you buy 2 totes, do you have to make 2 seperate transactions and get charged for shipping twice? Last time I just added on an item for $30, but this time I want 2 more items. I’m torn! I know that I definitely don’t want to drop $300 right now tho. Ugh!

    • When I have purchased two totes I did it in one transaction, and I believe that saved me in shipping costs. Hope that helps!

    • Michelle, I actually purchased a $149 tote in March then later the next day saw that a dress I had wanted to add on my tote (which was sold out at the time) was available again for purchase in the boutique. I made the purchase paying full price for the dress as well as the 2nd shipping charge. I called and emailed them and not only did they refund me for the 2nd shipping charge but they also refunded me the extra $ I spent on the dress, giving me the dress itself at the add on price 🙂

      • Wow lauren! Thanks for the info! That sounds like great customer service. I’ve been afraid to add another tote since they’ve been selling out so quickly on their items, I wanna just get in, get the goods and go! Ill try that next time tho! Thanks
