Fancy Food Box Review - April 2014 Items

The Fancy Food Box is one of the original Fancy subscription boxes. Every month they send full size gourmet food items, and usually a kitchen item. Fancy kindly sent me this box to review.

The Subscription Box: Fancy Food Box

The Cost: $39 a month plus shipping

The Products: Gourmet and specialty food and snacks.

Check out all my Fancy Food Box reviews and the Food Subscription Box Directory!

Fancy Food Box Review - April 2014 Cards

Each box comes with cards detailing every item included.

Fancy Food Box Review - April 2014 Crackers

Roots & Branches Olive Oil Crackers - Value $7

Bjorn Qorn - Value $6

I was so happy to see a gluten free and dairy free snack in the box! This Bjorn Qorn gets its "cheesy" taste from nutritional yeast. (I haven't had dairy in a long time though, so this may not taste cheesy to anyone who eats cheese regularly!)

Fancy Food Box Review - April 2014 Shortbread

Fine & Raw Chocolate Cacao & Coconut Chunky Bar - Value $7

Pure Shortbread Cookies - Value $7

Normally I don't get to enjoy chocolate from subscription boxes (again, from the dairy), but this bar is made with just coconut butter, cacao, and sugar! It was a VERY indulgent treat! (And my grandma loves shortbread cookies, so these are going to her on my next visit!)

Fancy Food Box Review - April 2014 Curry

Spoonable Curry Ketchup - Value $8

Dragon's Blood Elixir Hot Sauce - Value $7.50

I love that these are both made with natural (and recognizable) ingredients. And now I'm even more excited about being able to cook and eat outdoors in the summer!

Fancy Food Box Review - April 2014 Recipe

Fancy also included a recipe card for Fried Chicken with the Curry Ketchup.

Fancy Food Box Review - April 2014 Salt

Joseph Joseph Salt and Pepper Pinch Pots - Value $12

I prefer my salt and pepper shakers over pinch pots so I think I'll be swapping these!

Verdict: This box has a value of about $55. As always, I'm very pleased with the curation of the Fancy Food box. Almost all of these brands are completely new to me, and I love that it seems like every food product Fancy selects only uses wholesome ingredients.

What did you think of the April Fancy Food Box?

Hi Liz! I was wondering if you could tell me which box included more household products. Fancy food box or the Tyler Florence box? I want to subscribe to one but I don’t really want to receive primarily food since I’ve already got a subscription with a few food related boxes. But I’m more interested in kitchen utensils or kitchen deco.
Thanks!

For kitchen utensils I definitely recommend Tyler Florence! 🙂

I really liked this box. The popcorn and elephant cookies are delish!! I certainly plan to purchase more of both, and I love that the cookies are for the Northern Elephant organization.

The Dragons blood elixir hot sauce is cute!! And I love Joseph products anyway and already have a kitchen full of them, so I was happy to see the salt and pepper pots and will definitely use them.

I’m not sure about the Curry ketchup, but otherwise this box was a win for me!!
